You are right: this is good way to make discoveries. The feel I have on Cornwall from the videos so far is positive, I spent lots of Summertimes camping in West Penwith as a younger man, and so was a little fearful watching Fridays Video. No fear! The magic is still there.
No failed music metaphors today, just a warm round of applause for another beautiful video. Of course, I am now mildly obsessed with the ferry-fetching bat signal thing at Helford. I'm currently imagining a world in which you have to lower a semaphore signal with a giant lever to catch a train at a request stop. Cheers!
Great memories of our 2019 Trip to Cornwall, We stayed a night at The Ship and Castle in St Mawes, walked around the Village, the Docks, and to the Castle.
Hi Paul from Kent another great video lovely places you went to £7.00 is excellent value to see such beautiful places looking forward to the next video
Absolutely loving this series! Such fun to see Paul on the Friday episode, he`s a hoot. You should do a Paul video every summer :D So much to see, I`d forgotten how glorious Cornwall is, so thanks for your excellent filming and editing. Oh, those Wellington boot dogs are a bit barking aren`t they...
@@Richjwade definitely worth the trip. Lots more to see on the peninsula that i didn't have time to see on this trip too! Thanks for watching along too 👍
Great video!! Brilliant scenery both the coast and the countryside!! At least you were able to burn the calories off from the beer on the walk up the hill to get the bus at hellford. Hope all is well, take care
The Lizard has the distinction of being the only mainland part of England under the 50th Parallel but the Isles of Scilly beat it but they aren't mainland.
Places missed out were the villages of Coverack and Cadgwith, perhaps the quietest part of Cornwall especially nearby Porthoustock. There is Porthleven near Helston that faces westwards, not to be with Porthlethen, a coastal village near Aberdeen hundreds of miles away. Helston is famous for the floral dance that is held on Flora Day in May. Many small places in Cornwall begin with Tre. Truro is the most important place in Cornwall, and its name origin was Treveru meaning a place where three rivers meet, then shortened to Trero that does not sound right so it is called Truro.
@@minimaxi802 wow, thanks for all that extra stuff. Much appreciated. Of course, i had limited time on this trip. But thanks for the extra ideas for places to go when i inevitably return 👍 In of course, thanks for watching 👍
The narrow stretch of road you commented about after Mawnan Smith used to regulary be served by double deck buses, and full size aingle deckers lasted until only a few years ago.
Of course, there are vids of you and ur band operating at the peak of your prime on you tube, Johnny can u provide link..... Pleeeeeaase. Thx in advance. 😊
Looking at the various means of transport you used, full-size bus, minibus, ferries and trains, this was by far the most interesting video so far. But your £7 rover ticket only covered buses. The ferry fares were, frankly, ASTRONOMIC. How much were your train fares? I contrast this Cornish Farce with the west region of Sweden, that is the Gothenburg conurbation and an area stretching up the coast about 100 miles to the Norwegian border. There you can buy all-day tickets valid on buses, trams. local trains and ferries. And there are plenty of ferries. They charge the same fares as the buaes, trams and trains. The ferries even have route numbers, just like buses! Heidi Alexander has a lot of work to do!
@@Fan652w Yes good point. The ferries were expensive all along really. But you can't miss them out as they are such fun (and good for the video!). The £7 is a great deal, but as we've discussed before, nothing is really joined up like in places like Switzerland. The trains were all under £10 with my railcard, so not a big deal. The little Mercedes sprinters are great though.
@@GodAtum it was shot on a subsequent day. The first four days were consecutive in July. Others i shot during July and also into August. Apologies for the confusion . And thanks for watching along 👍
I wonder when RNAS Culdrose had the change from HMS Culdrose, shore establishments are Ships, probably when started to be shared with the RAF, That was a very long afternoon and early evening drive with what I assumed to be an urgent aircraft navigational part from the address labelling on the wood box, 'To be signed for by a CPO or above at Aircraft Navigation Parts Stores only - VERY URGENT!', a long wait for an escort from the gate to the stores. Unfortunately it was an account Taxi fare and a 3 month wait for the £300+ fare, a very annoyed wife upon getting home the following day, she hadn't picked up the answerphone message and I had turned off the Carphone once on the M4. Racal was never a fast payer.
