A couple days ago. Some of my buddies and I were paying our final respects to a fallen comrade, who passed away unexpectedly. We used this song in comms, as he loved pipe organs and Amazing Grace.
We had this for our wedding in 1977. I walked down the aisle with my Dad. Nobody had heard it before ….we were introduced to it by our church organist.
Is there a pipe organ can’t replicate? That’s why it’s called the KING❤ I could listen to this in loops. Music speaks when words cannot, just close your eyes to enjoy this piece & whatever is bothering you, it’s a good break from it. Music is truly God’s gift & Paul as an organist makes it even makes it more loveable to appreciate it…
A splendid arrangement of this iconic melody, Paul, and beautifully executed on the 'real' Marcusson at Rotterdam - the solo bagpipes effect was quite awesome. BRAVO!
Few organists play this so emboldened. And yet simplicity is where the pipes shine. I've played the organ ever since Grandma insisted- and it paid for my schooling. This shit hits a note hitherto unheard of.
John Newton would feel honoured and delight to hear his inspired hymn played here, I’m sure. How sweet the sound! The sound of your gifted playing and the sound of God’s saving grace toward the wretched and lost and spiritually blind.
I quoted, "I once was lost, but now am found. Was blind, but now I see." as the closing words of my testimony at my baptism a couple weeks ago. Myself and four of my closest friends in our Bible study made the commitment together. Afterwards, we all sang the first verse. One of the most beautiful moments of my earthly life. Beautiful cover brother!
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing. My mother used to play the organ all the time growing up. My grandmother was actually a concert pianist. My uncle was very musically talented too. God is good. Yah bless you. Really brought peace in a storm. Fond loving memories.
That had everything but the drums and the Pipemajor out front. Sadly, when we hear this a Firefighter or Police Officer has died. From Chicago , U.S.A.
Makes me tear up when I listen to this as Amazing Grace was played on the bagpipes and then a recording of choirs singing with us at my mums funeral 2 years ago
I've been privileged to be able to worship in that church about 4 years ago. You definitely play quite well. I also know how to play the pipe organ. It truly is a magnificent instrument. Great job👍👍
Once again! This music is great, once again Paul you are great organiste un musicien remarquable bravo bravo!... i don't know what to say now, it is beautiful Philippe du bois de Caen en Normandie France
This instantly reminded me of my first introduction to Edinburgh. Walking up to the Castle, a piper stood alone at a street corner playing Amazing Grace. You've got it right, especially to the bagpipe drone. Exceedingly well done. Those reeds must be wonderful with Spanish works, also. Encore! Please, please, more from this Marcussen. Your Hauptwerk sample is wonderful, but the real organ is an order of magnitude better. Even if you have to wear a heavy coat and shoes...
Hi Paul … this as to be high in my all time favourites and never fails to fill me with emotion… Your stamp on this was most certainly worthy of a pat on the back … Absolutely gorgeous 🤙🏻👏🏻🙏🏻
Super, super, lieber Paul.
That is a very beautiful arrangement of Amazing Grace! It is particularly special because you played it on a wonderful organ in the beautiful space of that large church. I really like hearing organs being played in big open spaces, I think it adds a lot of depth to the music that you can’t get in a smaller space. Thank you so much for filming this song and posting on UA-cam!
Great arrangement ,terrific registration ,Paul you played this with such feeling ,the words are just so powerful if meant and performed from the heart Thank you again Paul,God Bless you through your music .
Here I sit, unable to move. Played with all the beauty and majesty it deserves. But still, you, your humanness silently presents itself ... what is it with the penguins, what is it with the picture of the "blue bird" you do carefully place? Yes to your gift ... but who is (got to be) wonderful you?
Just so happens to be one of my favorite songs and was my grandmother's as well it sounds so you think you could do how great thou art as well sometime you do a superb job everytime you play you play it's unbelievably great
I first heard this piece at André Rieu's concert and the bagpipes played by Manoe, an artist of the JSO Family. Now I listen to this wonderful music performed on the organ, the sound of which I like. Wonderful performance, you hear those waving musical colorful butterflies. 😊❤Eva Eva Eva
Maestro, your musical talent is beyond belief, I regret not continuing my lessons and interest in organ music. Please continue with showing us your amazing talent.
This song is so overdone. Seems as if every artist or choir has sung it. It's a favorite among groups. But then this comes along. This guy is just plain sick. I am in tears, with goose bumps running all over my body. Thank you so much for sharing this. I really needed this tonight!
Thank you for this sir, my grandma and .yself would play amazing grace when I was little as a duet in her community church. This hit me right in the feels in the best way possible, thank you 😊

This is the only version that should ever be played. Goosebumps from start to finish.
Nothing beats a Church Pipe Organ. Well played young man.

Beautiful arrangement. Without any dramatic modifications; the way it should be.

Incredible beautiful. I lived in the neighbourhood of the St. Laurens for many years.🎉
I would that I had been there... Excellent performance, my friend!
Magnifique
Im very impressed. Organ and piano always work well together.
What is it about the sound of a drone that so captivates the human soul? This was a beautiful performance. Many thanks!
I have an idea that's also part of what makes the math-death metal band Meshuggah so popular.
Very good paul.

Paul. Absolutely beautiful performance! So moving. Made my day. God bless you. 🙏
Can’t have enough to listen such a wonderful transcription. What a sound!
Paul can make beauty become sound.
Beautiful piece Paul! This is not only the largest organ in the Netherlands, but also the largest mechanical organ in Europe.
This is so beautiful. This was played with the bagpipes at my dad's funeral a few years ago. This brings tears. 😢
Amazing transcription of "Amazing Grace" !
