This recording is from a larger collection which was recorded and produced by Wexford artist/folklorist Michael Fortune in September 2018 with Alice Sheehan, Ballynastragh and Seamus Bolger, Clonsilla, Gorey, Co. Wexford entitled “A Ramble Through Time... Vol. 3 - Folklore and Memories of Country Life from Co. Wexford”. This collection has been catalogued for ease of viewing and for research purposes.

These are not finely polished, single-narrative documentaries, instead they are field recordings which capture traditions, customs and memories in the midst of meandering conversations between Michael and the interviewees, where topics rise and flow and people are allowed to spark and remember. These recordings are immensely enjoyable to watch and in time their true value will be fully appreciated as they have captured these local stories, characters, beliefs, customs, words, sayings and accents. This collection is part of a larger collection of folklore which Michael recorded and produced around Kilanerin, Ballyfad, Croghan and Coolgreany between September and December 2018. The project was produced with the support of the Old Kilnenor Historical Society and the Arts Department of Wexford County Council under their Creative Communities Scheme.
