I accidentally stumbled upon a recent episode, thought it was interesting, and started here at the beginning. i'm pretty impressed, and I think the game system is very interesting. Aliza Pearl is like a perfect vulcan in tone there - very good (and that EMH voice/accent by Eric was eerily on point.
A modern Trek thing that isn’t dealing with the TOS era? Yes, please! In recent years it seems that the creators of Star Trek, and to some extent even a portion of the fanbase, act like the Kirk era stuff is the only thing that exists. But this, THIS is MY Star Trek! The 90’s stuff! I’m all down for this!
@Paperclown Wil isnt involved with Geek and Sundry anymore because of their takeover by Legendary, apparently there is some bad blood there or something.
SpydersByte Huh, I didn’t know that. That’s a shame, always liked the stuff Wil was around for, and Tabletop is the reason I found and subbed to G&S in the first place. But I guess they gotta do what they gotta do; life goes on.
The Dominion, loss of the Odessey, loss of Voyager, loss of Kirk (take heart, he's back in the novels), loss of Enterprise D, a band mate of Harry Kim, Soveriegn class development, wolf 359...I love all the Trek context.
The Sally Ride is a brilliant name for a Voyager class ship... in addition to the fact of who she was in regards to being a voyager, it also makes me think of the term "sally forth". Good pick for certain.
I'm hooked! Despite being a huge RPG player/fan, I found it difficult to sit through watching the role-playing sessions that are posted on this channel. But with this, it's almost like watching an episode of Star Trek. Especially Aliza Pearl, she SOUNDS so much like a Vulcan! I'm also crushing so much on the Betazed ambassador, I hope he shows up again and I love the rational, logical Vulcan interacting with the empathic, excitable Betazoid.
I am so happy that Shield of Tomorrow is here! I have been wanting to watch this series in full sense I caught a glimpse of a live campaign on twitch! Perfect for a Trek lover
I love the time period this game is placed in. I wish the tv series had worked in this era, but at least I can now get all my Star Trek continuum stuff vicariously through this show!
It's up! I'm excited!!! :D As someone who's been watching this show since the beginning, I can't wait for everyone else to see it and hopefully find some love for it as well :)
Here i am, rewatching the entire series for the... fifth time ? Not sure anymore XD Gotta love how all kinds of personal stuff is mixed in in this series, how well it's done, cool new stuff you see, great story. I am still hoping some of this will ever be sued in a new Star Trek TV series. A whole new expanse to explore, with cool new species and tech, yet screwing around with some old familiar enemies as well, and more surely can be thrown in.
Not sure if this has been mentioned before or not, but in Star Trek Online MMORPG, closely working with CBS currently in the year 2411 iirc in the Prime Timeline, the U.S.S. Sally Ride is located in the Narendra System and is in fact the same ship referred to here. I find it very cool that these guys use that specific ship which at the time this was produced had not been added into the STO Game yet. The ship can be interacted with by players and by doing so the first time grants a Gold Admirality card used in the games Admirality system. Anyway just wanted to mention the "future" of the U.S.S. Sally Ride. Loved this, looking forward to watching the rest of the episodes.
Love, Love, LOVE this show! Ever since I first heard Eric was ending TBD RPG (a Doctor Who RPG) for Star Trek with Hector Navarro as the captain, I knew it was going to be great. The rest of the cast filled out so perfectly as well. Even though I've already seen most and can watch it other places, I'm really glad it's on UA-cam. People should not be denied this amazing show. :)
I just love how they counted her snorts and would even change how names were spelled if something better came up, planning to bing watch entire series.
I have never seen Bonnie Gordon in anything before but she is clearly a trekky & playing the hell out of the classic Kim nerdy ensign type - I might be in love.
I can tell this was a work of love, and a lot of people wanted this kind of thing to happen for a long time. And now, we have the technology to pull the trigger on this crazy ride. My heart is so full. I can't wait to finish this episode! (This is the first time I'm watching)
Thank you for this. I was never really into DnD and I really have never watched or listened to anyone else playing. I really like what you are doing with this and I love Star Trek. Keep doing this.
It's got some promise. Hopefully the players can start picking up on what the DM is laying down so that he doesn't have to lead them by the chain so much. They definitely need to have a lot more practice of interacting with each other instead of mostly with the DM.
Loving that the GM is A: A passable Han Solo type, if you handed him a blaster and an outlaw background (Seriously. Just picture it, for a moment. Totally works, doesn't it?), and B: Has *incredibly* swooshy, always-on-point hair. It's incredibly distracting, but in a good way.
I try to catch this live on Twitch, but often miss it. It's awesome that you are putting them here so we can see them if/when the stream doesn't fit with our schedules. Thanks!!
This is the best thing streaming, for me. And the "yellow alert" was such a treat! Thank you, marvelous crew, for bringing so much joy to those of us who love the franchise.
I only watched the first episod. I love it. I love the roleplay and, of course star trek. My only critique so far,(And he will probably address it) Is that storyteller tells the players too much what they are thinking and feeling rather than describing the situation and allowing the players to react how their characters would response. So rather than saying "You feel exhausted to the doctor." He describes the situation situation and maybe ask: Do you volunteer for as many shifts as you can? (yes) then by the time your duration is done on the star base you feel exhausted. The RPG is a chance for collaborative storytelling. This is the great magic of it.
DESPERATELY need another campaign of the Shield of tomorrow crew. Even if it's not canon (in this universe) I would love to watch and listen to another adventure and see where the stars take us.
Never heard of these guys before today, just watched the first 10 minutes of the story setup and enjoying my wave of nostalgia from watching people speak with contagious enthusiasm about TNG DS9 and Voyager which I loooooooooooooooooooooooooove.
I usually don't comment and I know this is old. Although I could have sworn during a ship landing planet-side they went into a code blue specifically used to indicate a full ship landing. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong but I thought it would say. Hope you star trek fans will be nice. I've only watch TNG and VOY so I not entirely versed yet in the rest of the universe but I plan to be. Good day, long live and prosper. Edit: Bless Eric for his spot on EMH personality, we have to remember that the other EMH's don't have the Doctors personality.
Umm you put that thumbnail up and you got me instantly! That set is amazing and the uniforms take me back to when Trek was at its best! My fav uniforms are the First Contact suits! Its the ultimate geek item Ive always wanted: a tailored Sisko uniform with Capt vest variant! I dont like RPGs but Im down for this!!! Plus my boy Hector is Captain and Amy CMO?! Hell yeah!!
Every bone in my Trekkie body screamed when they decided to take the Sally Ride down to the planet. The absolute nightmare if enemies warped in and started ground bombarding or something XD ALWAYS leave the ship in orbit, so the rest of the crew can make a quick getaway in case of attack XD
I hope I don't need to know anything about sci-fi or Star Trek in order to enjoy this series! I really like the diversity, and how good the sound quality is of this episode, so I'd really like to watch.
If I recall correctly, they explain all the game mechanics as they come up and they generally explain any references made to Voyager, Next Generation or Deep Space Nine. I don't believe extensive Star Trek knowledge or history of Star Trek is required to enjoy or understand what's happening. :)
what to watch out for: 1- everything has a manual override. 2- everything has a polarity reverser 3- everything can be plugged into auxiliary power for extra power. 4- the holodeck always malfunctions 5- the warp core always overloads 6- the torpedoes magically restock themselves..... always.... everywhere. 7- nobody can seem to know how to use a computer. 8- the EMH is always right even when he's wrong. 9- Vulcans are always the party crashers. if any of those tropes come up, you look at them and you know "ah yes... that... that can happen, yeah.... that does happen"
Fun D&D fact: back in 2E, rolling lower on saving throws was better, and a 1 was an automatic success. It was also only possible to hit creates with a negative THAC0 (such as the Tarrasque) on a 1. This whole "higher is always better" is a newfangled thing that got introduced in 3E.
Proficiency and Psionic Strength Rolls also favored lower rolls, a 20 generated a detrimental result, sometimes fairly catastrophic. Ever since Wizards of the Coast took over, they dumbed down the rules in the hopes to rake in new players that lacked the basic math skills to play under the "Advanced Dungeons and Dragons" era rules. 3E, 3.5 and 4E are figuratively "D&D for Dummies", and it is looking like 5e is going to be another chapter in that same book. I love the idea of having more potential players, but I don't think anyone ever told me they weren't interested in playing because they were incapable of the overly complicated math problems.
Haven't watched a G&S tabletop show yet. This is surprisingly great! I expected solid professional production levels, which still are surpassed, but the level of heart and interest in the inspiration makes this show surprisingly close to the Original. Guess i have a new show to watch.
This is awesome. The techno babble is on point! The lurching was the best lol oh and I turned the drinking game into a smoking game. Hoping for more snorts next episode lol
I'm coming back and rewatching this, won't be able to watch Callisto this week and CR is on break. Oh my God, they're so young, they're so innocent. Don't even have Gina yet, ahhhhhh > 0
I think Aliza did a great job acting in role (position, rank, race) as a Star Fleet science officer from Vulcan! All others unfortunately spending more time out of role than in, but it was the first session so everyone was probably very nervous and excited. Good luck for future episodes.
I took the plunge. I have never played the Star trek adventures. I played the D20 version of the rpg a couple times. So I bought the expensive box set. Can't wait to watch you guys play. I'm a life long fan been watching since before I was born. My mom went into labor during the first motion picture. I'm a huge original and TNG fan. I gave read all the expanded universe cross over novels. I'm going to run a campaign based around getting Julian Bashir out of the clutches of section 31. I'm having some trouble with some rules and what not. So I can't wait to watch and see what I'm doing wrong.
the GM should be wearing Q's judge robes
So this.
The EMH impression is impeccable.
The GM is spectacular. I think he’d excel at anything he ran.

CrossfacePanda I agree this is my era of Star Trek too and it was some of my favourite series
Yep, TNG and newer, excluding the reboot.
Well that just sucks, that was my main draw, Tabletop, hope he's gonna do something similar elsewhere then.
The Dominion, loss of the Odessey, loss of Voyager, loss of Kirk (take heart, he's back in the novels), loss of Enterprise D, a band mate of Harry Kim, Soveriegn class development, wolf 359...I love all the Trek context.
IKR. I love how adherent and dedicated they are to the canon.
Canon. A cannon with two n’s is a weapon.
The Sally Ride is a brilliant name for a Voyager class ship... in addition to the fact of who she was in regards to being a voyager, it also makes me think of the term "sally forth". Good pick for certain.
They've edited out the breaks! Bless them
Eric should wear Judge's Q costume XD
I'm hooked! Despite being a huge RPG player/fan, I found it difficult to sit through watching the role-playing sessions that are posted on this channel. Aliza's Vulcan kind of reminds me of Michael Burnham from Disco...
That EMH-impression was so great!
The Orville is kinda fun, Discovery has the money but this has the Star Trek feeling i was waiting for. Love you guys.
Discovery isn't even part of the Alpha timeline.
"May I report to duty onboard the Sally Ride immediately"
"Sure"
Reaction: *You are a kind and merciful god*
Omg, are we finally getting this show on youtube? That's amazing!
Eric does a fantastic Robert Picardo.
Robert Picardo cannot be outdone. He's a legend in more than just Star Trek.
Can I just say that Sam's excitement is super adorable? love them so much
Oh I am so happy you are putting this on youtube!
I am so happy that Shield of Tomorrow is here! I have been wanting to watch this series in full sense I caught a glimpse of a live campaign on twitch! Perfect for a Trek lover
I love this so much. The EMH impression is spot on.
Bought the PDF after 45 minutes of this. Loving it, and loving the show.
Snort laughs and a Trek uniform. I'm in love
Bonnie Snort Laugh sold me. She’s my favorite
I love the time period this game is placed in. I wish the tv series had worked in this era, but at least I can now get all my Star Trek continuum stuff vicariously through this show!
I always wanted to follow the series but I had no way to watch from the beginning, now it's my chance
27:30 Love Sam De Leve's double take at "Commander" here.
This is the best GM I've ever seen. He is insanely good.
So happy to see on UA-cam, its hard to catch on Twitch all the time.
Yeah, I will never be able to catch this on Twitch. +1 for posting the vids.
The biggest thing missing is the Star Trek soundtrack.
kenmdrt If they’d be allowed to use either the TNG, DS9 or VOY soundtrack for this, that’d be SO amazing!
Even using STO's music would be great.
dang can't believe this only has 200000 views. this is such a great series
Im here on my third watch of this, they have a newer show called clear skies, if you dont know about it!
It's up! I'm excited!!! :D As someone who's been watching this show since the beginning, I can't wait for everyone else to see it and hopefully find some love for it as well :)
Hector Navarro as a captn...i cant see anything going wrong here :-D so this is gonna be awesome
Here i am, rewatching the entire series for the... fifth time ? Not sure anymore XD
Gotta love how all kinds of personal stuff is mixed in in this series, how well it's done, cool new stuff you see, great story.

the cast is great, I kinda got in the zone and start seeing them as a new star trek series in some moments, great roleplay !
I just love how they counted her snorts and would even change how names were spelled if something better came up, planning to bing watch entire series.
That impression of the Doctor EMH was spot on! Lol! Well done!
belive me now the show is going to get suuper popular!
I have never seen Bonnie Gordon in anything before but she is clearly a trekky & playing the hell out of the classic Kim nerdy ensign type - I might be in love.

Glad to see this is finally on UA-cam!
I really like Eric's style of GMing.
Eric, if I didn't know that wasn't Robert Picardo, I would have sworn he had popped in. Spot on impersonation.
I think that's the first time I'll watch a Geek & Sundry video in a very long time!
I need a new fix since I'm caught up on Critical Role. Yeah this looks good
finally!! I am so glad you put this online!
especially as an incentive to get to know all these amazing characters and this wonderful rpg!
You know, I really like this. I would enjoy seeing more of this!
"So thumbs up on all of that shite." Best captain catch-phrase ever. 6:42
Thank you for this. I was never really into DnD and I really have never watched or listened to anyone else playing. I really like what you are doing with this and I love Star Trek. Keep doing this.

I'm not a big star trek show fan but I like the world of star trek. And with these people I'm loving this
Loving that the GM is A: A passable Han Solo type, if you handed him a blaster and an outlaw background (Seriously. Just picture it, for a moment. Totally works, doesn't it?), and B: Has *incredibly* swooshy, always-on-point hair. It's incredibly distracting, but in a good way.
Okona
I try to catch this live on Twitch, but often miss it. It's awesome that you are putting them here so we can see them if/when the stream doesn't fit with our schedules. Thanks!!
20:03 The actual roleplaying starts and the exposition bomb ends.
This is the best thing streaming, for me. And the "yellow alert" was such a treat! Thank you, marvelous crew, for bringing so much joy to those of us who love the franchise.
I was surprised............It was a really good episode and I went in not expecting much from this. Well Done!
So much good hair going on.
They need to get Mercer in for some guest play....and peak hair.
I only watched the first episod. I love it. I love the roleplay and, of course star trek. More! Absolutely more! I had the largest grin on my face for the whole thing! I could not be more giddy!
Never heard of these guys before today, just watched the first 10 minutes of the story setup and enjoying my wave of nostalgia from watching people speak with contagious enthusiasm about TNG DS9 and Voyager which I loooooooooooooooooooooooooove.
This is a great series. A Star Trek RPG! I hope we get a bunch of episodes from this team. Great job to everyone!
31:48 "Yeah, it got real dicey right around 2017."
Oh, sweet, sweet summer children.
YAY! This was amazing can’t wait for the next episode!
Very fun, can't wait to see more!
I usually don't comment and I know this is old. Although I could have sworn during a ship landing planet-side they went into a code blue specifically used to indicate a full ship landing. Wasn't too sure about watching this, more into other Genre however, with Bonnie Gordon playing, I will watch every episode.
Hell yeah!!
1:04:17 The true test of Bonnie's Janeway impression is "Get off my ship!"
I have just discovered this and i got like 52 episodes to look forward to! Havent been this excited in ages! LLAP
the set and costumes are friggin' amazing!
I miss these guys.....
Every bone in my Trekkie body screamed when they decided to take the Sally Ride down to the planet. The absolute nightmare if enemies warped in and started ground bombarding or something XD
ALWAYS leave the ship in orbit, so the rest of the crew can make a quick getaway in case of attack XD

I don't believe extensive Star Trek knowledge or history of Star Trek is required to enjoy or understand what's happening. :)
I don’t think you need to at all. It might enhance things but you should be fine.
what to watch out for:
1- everything has a manual override.
2- everything has a polarity reverser
3- everything can be plugged into auxiliary power for extra power.
4- the holodeck always malfunctions
5- the warp core always overloads
6- the torpedoes magically restock themselves..... always.... everywhere.
7- nobody can seem to know how to use a computer.
8- the EMH is always right even when he's wrong.
9- Vulcans are always the party crashers.
if any of those tropes come up, you look at them and you know "ah yes... that... that can happen, yeah.... that does happen"
It’s a hard knock *snort* for us! ❤️.
The GM's EMH impression is awesome! So spot on it hurts!
Excellent choice on the ship name.
Loved the bit with the EMH. Those voice patterns were spot on.
I am such a hardcore DND player when they said 1 is good 20 bad I thought they were being sarcastic
Also what's the spicific name of the game I can't tell if the title is all title
Star Trek Adventures. Developed by the folks at Modiphius.
In Dark Hersey 2nd edition on d100 roles 1 is good 100 is critical failure.
57:35 Okay that's a nice Picardo. Not too over the top. Nice subtle homage.Well done.
Set is awesome. Diggin the vibes ya'll!!
I don't know anything about Star Trek. BUT i'm here for the ride and to learn!!
EMH was awesome!
2:42:13
GM : "I’m such a B A T A R D"
Picard : *"THAT’S MON BOY !!!"*
Ok but Will Wheaton playing this game may implode the multiverse, guys...
The USS Sally Ride is still in STO!! I was amazed when I stumbled across it
that set is something. great work whoever build that
Never expected opening communications to be so intense.
Whoa, that set looks amazing!
Yay, I can finally get in on this - didn't have the luxury of watching this when it began, but I'm glad I can watch the backlog :3
This is awesome. The techno babble is on point! The lurching was the best lol oh and I turned the drinking game into a smoking game. Hoping for more snorts next episode lol
I hope someone puts timestamps like they do on Critical Role.
I can turn this into a drinking game...so every time (Eric Campbell) says "UM"... take a drink 8>)3
Damn that's an hardcore mode!
Drunk in 5, 4, 3...
I'm coming back and rewatching this, won't be able to watch Callisto this week and CR is on break. Oh my God, they're so young, they're so innocent. Don't even have Gina yet, ahhhhhh > 0
Bonnie Gordon - Loving that song "Now you've got the bridge Spock!!" Thanks for mentioning it, I love it!! You are an amazing singer!
These people are so nerdy, they make the critical role people look like the Wu Tang Clan.
The Wu Tang Clan are anime nerds in real life. I really would like to watch them play D&D.
@@TimdeVisser86 yup idky all rappers love anime so much 😂
I respect them for their nerdiness
my pepes!
Critical role is still awesome tho
I LOVE THIS!!! Anything dealing with TNG, DS9 I cannot get enough of.
So nice to see a bunch of ladies playing. This should be interesting!
