1:36 THIS. IS. SO. TRUE. I fought low GSP battles as Mii Brawler (a character I am relatively new with), and I couldn't get ANY reads because my opponents kept throwing out random stuff. A Byleth literally kept on using Down Special, and then they randomly threw out a down smash twice. I lost 2 stocks, but I won. Still, it was ridiculously difficult.
FOR REAL. One of my friends plays Sora and I swear to God he just uses a random number generator or something for his moves, I'll think I conditioned him or scouted a habit then all of a sudden he'll throw out the most nonsensical unpredictable move and it works! He has yet to beat me but the matches are always so unnecessarily close 😭

i don’t think he likes min min either💀 i mean i get why he doesn’t like bowser… he’s super heavy, has a fast run speed, does a crap load of damage, has one of the best out of shield spam options in the game, and has a recovery with decent range. and he has a suicide move. and that with tough guy makes him a very noob-friendly and hard to deal with character
Bowser is a super heavy fast character that has pretty OK frame data and massive damage

He only has one viable OOS option and that's up-B, which is a grounded move.
So, space your approach and jump over his one OOS and you win.
Anything that has decent disjoints can contest that easily.
His side-b: yeah I got nothing. That's pretty broken. But: you can influence the direction unlike Chrom's up-B for example. It's not much, but it's sth
Yes, Bowser being as fast as he is for his weight is pretty bonkers.
Though my comment wasn't about his cheese factor or how broken he is, but that I think that he's a fun and unique character that isn't *just* "I am heavy. I bonk hard"

I think it’s because some of Bowser’s moves feel kinda dishonest. Like his down air is a stall and fall that seems to work or at least trade when it really shouldn’t, then there’s his side b cheese, and for some reason he has a better out of shield game than you’d think he would deserve. Kinda like Kazuya, Bowser has weird shit tacked on to him that make him unexpectedly good at certain stuff.

At the end he says arsene would make zss good, but she's already got crazy speed and hops to be good. She probably just needs combo lag on held side-b, and functional auto-connect hitboxes like most other multi-hits have. Like seriously Joker, ZSS, and Mii Brawler all have the double kick fair, and Joker's is the only one with the auto connect hitbox.

the most impact slingshot had on mid level players was that they did slingshots in between stocks instead of dashdancing or wavelanding on plats

I want to hear his full arguement as to why bowser is bad game design. I feel like he has some solid reasons, but if the main one is the SideB then I have to say it’s not that bad. All the other player has to do is di the direction, and the bowser player can’t take them offstage

Despite what Marss said, slingshot has made a difference to some top players. Leo uses it a ton for example (and credited it with making him enjoy Joker again)
marss and the twitter comments are 100% correct, most players dont understand or cant explain jump and turning mechanics which is why there's confusion
