Thanks for this. i am new to coarse fishing. I fly fish and use the perfection loop. the knot youve shown saves a lot of faff and thanks for explaining why it works. All this hair rig etc is new to someone who hasn't coarse fished for 40 years. Great.
Thought i should add you should only use a single overhand loop knot for the hair on hair rigs as it doesnt require any strength as the fish wont be pulling against it (only the knotless knot of the hook) but for all other loops i use the perfection loop as its the neatest and its supposed to be the strongest which i would vouch for as i've never had one come undone.
When I make hair rigs, or when I tie any loop, I either do a double overhand or tie the loose end to secure it, I don't feel it's secure doing just one loop like you did. For tying the band on you can also use a baiting needle if like me, you don't keep hair grips!
tip to all, or you simply take a needle and put it into the loop that needs to be pulled to the band. As long as the loop is not too small it can be slid around.

Beautifully done. Thanks from a complet novice to method feeder angling.
Thanks for this, found it very useful and much easier than another method I'd tried
Excellent demonstration,Thanks for sharing.
Tremendous demonstration, very helpful! Just curious - why leave longer hair length for carp as opposed to the one shown here? Thanks!!
What does everyone do if the band breaks off? Do you re-tie the hair or is there a simpler way of attaching a new one?

I'm not saying your way wouldn't work, I'm sure it does or you wouldn't use it. I just like to make the loop more secure.
Would a slip not work,or would that cut into the band, thanks good video as well thanks
Perfect demonstration thanks.
thank you very much
I’m new to this. How do you attach the bait. does it slip inside the band?
Thank you helped a lot
No that's easier to understand. Cheers mate
