Teaching about the Holy Spirit is often neglected and easily confused.
Some of us have grown up in churches where the emphasis on the Spirit and His gifts was so pronounced that faith became a constant
pursuit of supernatural experiences and “gold dust” moments. Conversely, others have experienced traditions where the Holy Spirit
was scarcely mentioned, leading to a lack of understanding or appreciation for His role in the Christian life. It’s no surprise that some,
like Francis Chan, would refer to the Holy Spirit as “the forgotten God.”
Our seven-week series presents a significant opportunity for City on a Hill to grow in its understanding and experience of the Holy
Spirit. We want to worship God in Spirit and Truth (John 4).
The series will be grounded in God’s Word, thematic in format and practical in style.
My hope is that our Sunday teaching and mid-week ministry will provide biblical and theological clarity across our movement and
inspire a greater hunger to walk in God’s presence, power, and promise. I long to see a Spirit-filled church where people grow in
Christ-likeness, walk in step with the Spirit, and wholeheartedly entrust themselves to God’s kingdom and mission.
