I'm a Christian but i was lost when I was in my 20's. Living in a big city caused me to forget Christ. After more than 2 decades, i came back to HIM. I repented and still say my repentance prayer. I went to a healing service a few months ago. I also heard the same words like this man heard when he came to church, "You're home". I thought it was just me but after listening to so many testimonies, i believe the LORD did say it to me because i felt warm like someone embracing my shoulder when it was so chilling in the hall with aircond. It reminds me my Dad, I am from Hindu background.. my dad also came to Christ, it was really hard. We mocked by our own relatives and village people. I frequently asked question, why I left my faith. Oh I would love to. So, I was born and brought up in a Hindu Brahmin family. I grew up as a stauch Hindu idol worshipper and was very particular about my faith. Even when I was a little kid, I was inclined towards all the rituals and spiritual things. I grew up in a lil difficult family. My father passed away when I was 10years old and that made a huge impact on me. But, since I was spiritually inclined I decided to seek God as my father and ask Him to fill that gap in my life. Unfortunately, the ones I thought were God, were actually gods , if you know what I mean :'). Ever since I was a kid, I would have some or the other meet with Jesus through a poster of his or something of the sort. I would always have a pull towards going to a church but I never knew why. So, when I was growing, I guess I was 13years old when my mother invited a church group to sing carols at our house during the Christmas season. My mom was a teacher and had a colleague teacher who was a also a Pastor. Their church came and began to sing carols at our house and I was touched by the Holy Spirit of God that night. I sobbed profusely not knowing why. Even before they had arrived at our place, my mother had received a call from them confirming that they were on their way, and just that call I don't know how, brought me to tears. And I cried And cried that night. They prayed for our salvation that night. But did not share the gospel. I continued as a Hindu thereafter, but something in my spirit had changed. I began to get aware about the deadness of those idols. And I began to question. I began to feel that my prayers were not reaching anywhere, but we're actually bouncing back like a ball thrown on a wall. I knew there is a God, who He was, I had to find out. I began to seek him in Buddhism, but was terribly disappointed. When I was 16years old, the Lord Brought someone to me who merely said , "Jesus Christ is Lord" and I was like "OH I KNEW IT! I KNEW JESUS IS THE ONLY TRUTH. I JUST NEEDED SOMEONE TO COME AND SAY IT TO MY FACE." I committed my life to follow Jesus from that day on, however, I still didn't know who He was and what He had done for me. When I began to attend church, I heard a worship song that said " that The Father so loved me, that He gave His only Son to die for my sins". Those lines brought me to tears and it continued for years. Every time I would hear that song, I would cry. I had finally found my father in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ. 😊

I would like to clear one thing here. People don't follow Hinduism because there's is no such thing. You literally have to do nothing to be a Hindu. You don't even have to go to temple or pray to God. People can't be converted to hindusuim because there's is no procedure to do so. It's not even a religion but just an idea. The reason Hinduism came up as a religion because other religions that came to India saw the culture through the glasses of religion. I used to read Hanuman chalisa and visit temple every Monday and Tuesday if not everyday feeling that God would listen my prayer. But as the days passed that i felt that nothing can be changed if it's written in destiny. We do not live in ideal world where today if i pray to God then tomorrow my prayers would reach to God's door. Rich prays to God so that God does not take away his wealth. Poor pray to god so that God do not make his situation more worst. In both situations fear is the basic factor and love is missing. God is the seer, right. Find the seer however you can. The scriptures point to an experience, some scriptures could be just made up stuff but should point to an experience of god, the seer. Whatever practice works is good for me. Belief in yourself is good but also putting hard work is also needed.

@CALEB ALVAREZ Well in the vedantic way of thinking there are many ways of attaining God. Christian way of things is just a combination of bhakti Yoga and karma yoga mentioned in the Vedas. And Hindu is a word which has not much of a meaning. I believe in God as mentioned in the Bhagavad Gita which is the essence of the Vedas

Hinduism never teaches you to submit. I understand you have chosen to follow Christianity, but don't lie about Hinduism. Its not right. The whole Hindu philosophy is based on seeking and questioning your very existence or even God. It is not right to belittle Eastern religious faiths to justify conversion. In Hinduism Christ is as much respected as our Ganesh or Allah. That's why you find Hindus worshiping in churches, temples and mosques, but you will never find a Christian or a Muslim visit a Hindu temple to worship. That is fine, we accept other religions, while Christianity and Islam think they are doing a favor tolerating Hinduism. This is not to hurt any religious sentiments, but I don't understand why lie to the world about Hinduism. Ancients texts of the Indian sub-continent are based on questioning and counter questioning various ideas. Christianity has a place in this world, and so does Hinduism. Lets co-exist without spewing lies about each other.

His story is like mine. I was broken and abandoned. So i asked God for a family and a sense of peace and home. He lead me to my local church where i was warmly welcomed and he said to me "welcome home child" and my church friends said "you are family now" and in that, my prayer's were answered. Even the people at my church can not believe my transformation, God really is good!

I grew up Christian, and when I got out of high school I left the Church and for many years was a part of many religious communities, including Hinduism. During those years I would have said what you are saying now. However, your words are deeply misguided, just as I was apart from Jesus Christ. He pursued me all those years while I was seriously seeking God in all those other religions, but I kept ignoring Him aside from giving Him nominal respect for being a servant of God. I never, never thought I'd be a Christian again. I knew way too much from the Eastern religions and New Age to settle for what seemed to be a limited, limiting, non-inclusive, narrow-minded, boring religion that was clearly missing something because of all that I was experiencing spiritually and the vast vaults of knowledge I was gaining outside of it. But do you know what is more powerful than a plethora of spiritual experiences and volumes of knowledge? The Truth. Jesus says He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no one comes to the Father (God Most High) except through Him. The spiritual experiences and knowledge I was gaining outside of the Church all fit into the category of "the world." Satan is god of this world and is the prince of the power of the air. He has influence in the heavens (throughout the universe), and will do anything to keep us from believing in and receiving and surrendering to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Because Jesus defeated Satan at the Cross, Satan must keep people from receiving Jesus. It is the only way to nullify the victory Jesus won on Mankind's behalf. So we are told there is no sin, no permanent everlasting torment in Hell, no need for Jesus' crucifixion, death, and resurrection unless you want to believe in it, and suddenly we've traded our only means of salvation for something that sounds and feels better. For something that offers similar concepts, and even similar vocabulary, but with the air of offering something more advanced and unique. But it is a counterfeit salvation, and will leave its followers defenseless in the face of God's Justice. Only Jesus can advocate for us before God Almighty when we die after our one and only life. The Bible tells us we only live once. The Bible tells us Jesus is our only gateway to God (Jesus said it Himself), gurus are not even a factor. In fact, Jesus says whoever tries to enter the sheep pen, without going through Him, are robbers and thieves. He makes it so clear, that no one else but Him is the Way. The Bible tells us God's name, Yahweh. That's His name. Not one of His many attributive names. He tells Moses that this is the name He is to always be known as. So Krishna is not God. Different name, different god. The God of the Bible also says He is Jealous, He will not let ANYONE receive the praise that He is due. Not so with Krishna who will accept praise given to him through those who worship the demigods instead of Him. Yahweh says there is sin, and that's what humans need deliverance from lest they spend eternity in Hell, and He sends His ONLY Son, Jesus, to die an excruciating death because it's the ONLY way to redeem us from the eternal torment of Hell. Krishna says there's karma, and many lives, and many chances to get to his planet. But if there was more than one way to God, why would He send His only Son to die a hellacious death to redeem us? He could have just stayed in Heaven if there were any other way, but He didn't stay in Heaven, He was tortured on the Cross and resurrected to give humans opportunity to have relationship with God and to enter Heaven after this life. The God of the Bible and the god of the Bhagavad Gita are not the same. They are very different, and all it will take is the end of this life to show which one is the real God. But for those who haven't repented of their sins and placed their trust in and surrendered to Jesus Christ, they will have no advocate before the Judgment seat of God, and will perish. During those years away from Jesus and the church, I met random people who happened to be Christians. They (unknowingly) showed me that I didn't know the Bible as well as I thought, even though I grew up in the church. Being a serious seeker of God, this troubled me. So I started to read The Bible more. And Christians started coming more and more into my life. I could have ignored them, but I was inclusive and received them. And I started learning way more about The Bible and the God of the Bible. It became clear that none of these other religions were worshipping God Almighty, Yahweh, though they claimed to be worshipping the one God that all religions worship, just by a different name. It became clear that ALL of them denied His Only Son Jesus as He presented Himself. They totally stripped Him of His status, power, His exaltation as the name above every name, the astounding victory He won on Mankind's behalf through His death and resurrection, and much more...I couldn't participate in any of those religions anymore. And that was a very difficult decision because that was my life! Those were my friends! Those were the beliefs I espoused and shared with others. Those were the spiritual practices I did with dedication. But I had to give them up for the One who is Altogether Lovely, Jesus. My journey back to Jesus took several months. I learned so much, and many events and spiritual experiences occurred during that time. Back to what you said in your comment. The Bible doesn't teach blind faith. So whoever told you that, or if that was your perception, it was incorrect. Just read the Bible, especially the Old Testament, and you will see how God GROWS us in faith. He asks something of us, and we either respond or we don't. If we say yes and act on it, and continue to do so, our faith forms a stair that takes us higher and higher. And all we have to do is look behind us to see all the steps of faith we've taken to get to this point. That history of faith gives us confidence to continue on to greater acts of faith. Just look at Abraham, the Father of Faith, for a prime example. The Bible does say that we need to stay on the narrow path of "only Jesus", and I found out why. It is a miracle that Jesus brought me back in from the broad road. There's so much information out there, so many experiences of so many kind, but especially that of the mind-altering esoteric sort, that the narrow way becomes laughable (to our great detriment). Seeking for God elsewhere when you already have God as a true Christian (vs a nominal Christian), is like looking for your house when you already sitting at the kitchen table. There is great depth to the Bible, to relationship with God and Jesus, and it is neverending. But you have to want it. You can't be fighting to get away from God in order to experience something different. There is a wide world to explore, but the determining factor on where to go and what to do is if you feel you need to change who God says He is or what He said in the Bible or said during intimate times of prayer in order to do it. Humans want to do their own thing and are always looking for the next new thing. I know, I was all about that. Those who truly seek God will find Jesus Christ. In the Bible, God (Yahweh) says that those who seek Him will find Him. I know what you mean, though. There is a hunger to know and to grow. And this isn't bad, it's a human attribute. I know that some churches leave people without direction, discipleship, fellowship, daily practice, and training. The Eastern religions filled those hungers in me. I was shocked when, years later, I saw a church that provided serious training to its members. They had a whole catalog of courses in Christian education topics: evangelizing, ordination, Bible doctrine classes, communication, etc. I hadn't returned to Jesus and the Church at that time, but I remembered thinking that if this were available at the church I had left, maybe I would have never left. Money has nothing to do with a relationship with Jesus Christ. The only payment that was made was between Jesus and the Father, and it was with blood. Jesus offers us relationship with Himself, with His Father, who is Yahweh, and the Holy Spirit. There is no money involved, only the currency of love. The fact that you reduce someone choosing to serve Jesus Christ (be they of Indian descent or not) to a mere matter of accepting some monetary bribe is exactly what I was talking about when I said all other religions reject Jesus. He made the only way to God through His own blood and death, and then people such as yourself, write this greatest act of love and what it purchases for humanity off as some trite event or story used to attract a following and has no power. This is denial of Jesus Christ. It doesn't land in the realm of respecting Him even. The line is drawn in the sand when you say such things, and especially when you believe them. I know that part of you knows better than that. Do not believe that lie. I don't know if you surrendered your life to Jesus back when you said you were a Christian. I don't know if you truly repented of your sins and truly placed your trust in Jesus alone. But if you did, you can be sure that Jesus has been pursuing you all this time away. He is Faithful and will not give up trying to reach you. The fact that you're commenting on the Billy Graham channel is a sign of His mercy. He has not turned you away. Jesus desires that you draw near to Him. I pray and know Jesus will keep presenting Himself to you in various ways. I pray you will receive Him in those moments. So, I was born and brought up in a Hindu Brahmin family. I grew up as a stauch Hindu idol worshipper and was very particular about my faith. Even when I was a little kid, I was inclined towards all the rituals and spiritual things. I grew up in a lil difficult family. My father passed away when I was 10years old and that made a huge impact on me. But, since I was spiritually inclined I decided to seek God as my father and ask Him to fill that gap in my life. Unfortunately, the ones I thought were God, were actually gods , if you know what I mean :').
Ever since I was a kid, I would have some or the other meet with Jesus through a poster of his or something of the sort. I would always have a pull towards going to a church but I never knew why.
So, when I was growing, I guess I was 13years old when my mother invited a church group to sing carols at our house during the Christmas season. My mom was a teacher and had a colleague teacher who was a also a Pastor.
Their church came and began to sing carols at our house and I was touched by the Holy Spirit of God that night. I sobbed profusely not knowing why. Even before they had arrived at our place, my mother had received a call from them confirming that they were on their way, and just that call I don't know how, brought me to tears. And I cried And cried that night. They prayed for our salvation that night. But did not share the gospel.
I continued as a Hindu thereafter, but something in my spirit had changed. I began to get aware about the deadness of those idols. And I began to question. I began to feel that my prayers were not reaching anywhere, but we're actually bouncing back like a ball thrown on a wall. I knew there is a God, who He was, I had to find out.
I began to seek him in Buddhism, but was terribly disappointed.
When I was 16years old, the Lord Brought someone to me who merely said , "Jesus Christ is Lord" and I was like "OH I KNEW IT! I KNEW JESUS IS THE ONLY TRUTH. I JUST NEEDED SOMEONE TO COME AND SAY IT TO MY FACE."
I committed my life to follow Jesus from that day on, however, I still didn't know who He was and what He had done for me.
When I began to attend church, I heard a worship song that said " that The Father so loved me, that He gave His only Son to die for my sins". Those lines brought me to tears and it continued for years. Every time I would hear that song, I would cry.
I had finally found my father in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ. 😊

Hinduism is a way of life. There are no hardcore rules, it's all about culture and traditions, your life and your choices. No where in our culture one finds the word Hinduism, it's called Sanatana Dharma and there is no concept of religion in Sanatana Dharma. You have a mind, a body, a soul and the life energy, it's all about how you use them to be blissful in your life and live vibrantly with positive energy in your surroundings, that's what I learnt from Hinduism. Hinduism tells us that we are ultimately a piece of this universe and it teaches us to be in resonance with the universe.
Hinduism is the only culture that doesn't impose any rules, if you are closer to life and this universe, you are automatically closer to Hinduism; if you want go away from Hinduism, Hinduism opens the exit doors for you even before you exit Hinduism.

I got most of my questions cleared through Hinduism and I'm happy to be a true Hindu, atleast we need not have to do any drama like that person. I would like to clear one thing here. People don't follow Hinduism because there's is no such thing. You literally have to do nothing to be a Hindu. You don't even have to go to temple or pray to God. People can't be converted to hindusuim because there's is no procedure to do so. It's not even a religion but just an idea. The reason Hinduism came up as a religion because other religions that came to India saw the culture through the glasses of religion. Being a Sanatani Hindu and having faith in God are two different things for us. Because spirituality has nothing to do with religion. Peace can be attained without linking oneself to any faith. So I don't question other faiths or religion for their credibility or guaranteed connection to God. You know what once a time i was also like you... yes may be not as religious as you.
But i used to read and recite various holy mantras. I used to read Hanuman chalisa and visit temple every Monday and Tuesday if not everyday feeling that God would listen my prayer. But as the days passed that i felt that nothing can be changed if it's written in destiny. We do not live in ideal world where today if i pray to God then tomorrow my prayers would reach to God's door. Rich prays to God so that God does not take away his wealth. Poor pray to god so that God do not make his situation more worst. In both situations fear is the basic factor and love is missing.
One can talk about Vedas and Gita as long as he or she is living in their comfort zone.

I grew up Christian, and when I got out of high school I left the Church and for many years was a part of many religious communities, including Hinduism. During those years I would have said what you are saying now. However, your words are deeply misguided, just as I was apart from Jesus Christ. He pursued me all those years while I was seriously seeking God in all those other religions, but I kept ignoring Him aside from giving Him nominal respect for being a servant of God.
I never, never thought I'd be a Christian again. I knew way too much from the Eastern religions and New Age to settle for what seemed to be a limited, limiting, non-inclusive, narrow-minded, boring religion that was clearly missing something because of all that I was experiencing spiritually and the vast vaults of knowledge I was gaining outside of it. But do you know what is more powerful than a plethora of spiritual experiences and volumes of knowledge? The Truth.
Jesus says He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no one comes to the Father (God Most High) except through Him. The spiritual experiences and knowledge I was gaining outside of the Church all fit into the category of "the world." Satan is god of this world and is the prince of the power of the air. He has influence in the heavens (throughout the universe), and will do anything to keep us from believing in and receiving and surrendering to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Because Jesus defeated Satan at the Cross, Satan must keep people from receiving Jesus. It is the only way to nullify the victory Jesus won on Mankind's behalf. So we are told there is no sin, no permanent everlasting torment in Hell, no need for Jesus' crucifixion, death, and resurrection unless you want to believe in it, and suddenly we've traded our only means of salvation for something that sounds and feels better. For something that offers similar concepts, and even similar vocabulary, but with the air of offering something more advanced and unique. But it is a counterfeit salvation, and will leave its followers defenseless in the face of God's Justice. Only Jesus can advocate for us before God Almighty when we die after our one and only life.
The Bible tells us we only live once. The Bible tells us Jesus is our only gateway to God (Jesus said it Himself), gurus are not even a factor. In fact, Jesus says whoever tries to enter the sheep pen, without going through Him, are robbers and thieves. He makes it so clear, that no one else but Him is the Way.
The Bible tells us God's name, Yahweh. That's His name. Not one of His many attributive names. He tells Moses that this is the name He is to always be known as. So Krishna is not God. Different name, different god. The God of the Bible also says He is Jealous, He will not let ANYONE receive the praise that He is due. Not so with Krishna who will accept praise given to him through those who worship the demigods instead of Him. Yahweh says there is sin, and that's what humans need deliverance from lest they spend eternity in Hell, and He sends His ONLY Son, Jesus, to die an excruciating death because it's the ONLY way to redeem us from the eternal torment of Hell. Krishna says there's karma, and many lives, and many chances to get to his planet. But if there was more than one way to God, why would He send His only Son to die a hellacious death to redeem us? He could have just stayed in Heaven if there were any other way, but He didn't stay in Heaven, He was tortured on the Cross and resurrected to give humans opportunity to have relationship with God and to enter Heaven after this life.
The God of the Bible and the god of the Bhagavad Gita are not the same. They are very different, and all it will take is the end of this life to show which one is the real God. But for those who haven't repented of their sins and placed their trust in and surrendered to Jesus Christ, they will have no advocate before the Judgment seat of God, and will perish.
During those years away from Jesus and the church, I met random people who happened to be Christians. They (unknowingly) showed me that I didn't know the Bible as well as I thought, even though I grew up in the church. Being a serious seeker of God, this troubled me. So I started to read The Bible more. And Christians started coming more and more into my life. I could have ignored them, but I was inclusive and received them. And I started learning way more about The Bible and the God of the Bible. It became clear that none of these other religions were worshipping God Almighty, Yahweh, though they claimed to be worshipping the one God that all religions worship, just by a different name. It became clear that ALL of them denied His Only Son Jesus as He presented Himself. They totally stripped Him of His status, power, His exaltation as the name above every name, the astounding victory He won on Mankind's behalf through His death and resurrection, and much more...I couldn't participate in any of those religions anymore. And that was a very difficult decision because that was my life! Those were my friends! Those were the beliefs I espoused and shared with others. Those were the spiritual practices I did with dedication. But I had to give them up for the One who is Altogether Lovely, Jesus.
My journey back to Jesus took several months. I learned so much, and many events and spiritual experiences occurred during that time.
Back to what you said in your comment. The Bible doesn't teach blind faith. So whoever told you that, or if that was your perception, it was incorrect. Just read the Bible, especially the Old Testament, and you will see how God GROWS us in faith. He asks something of us, and we either respond or we don't. If we say yes and act on it, and continue to do so, our faith forms a stair that takes us higher and higher. And all we have to do is look behind us to see all the steps of faith we've taken to get to this point. That history of faith gives us confidence to continue on to greater acts of faith. Just look at Abraham, the Father of Faith, for a prime example.
The Bible does say that we need to stay on the narrow path of "only Jesus", and I found out why. It is a miracle that Jesus brought me back in from the broad road. There's so much information out there, so many experiences of so many kind, but especially that of the mind-altering esoteric sort, that the narrow way becomes laughable (to our great detriment). Seeking for God elsewhere when you already have God as a true Christian (vs a nominal Christian), is like looking for your house when you already sitting at the kitchen table.
There is great depth to the Bible, to relationship with God and Jesus, and it is neverending. But you have to want it. You can't be fighting to get away from God in order to experience something different. There is a wide world to explore, but the determining factor on where to go and what to do is if you feel you need to change who God says He is or what He said in the Bible or said during intimate times of prayer in order to do it. Humans want to do their own thing and are always looking for the next new thing. I know, I was all about that.
Those who truly seek God will find Jesus Christ. In the Bible, God (Yahweh) says that those who seek Him will find Him.
I know what you mean, though. There is a hunger to know and to grow. And this isn't bad, it's a human attribute. I know that some churches leave people without direction, discipleship, fellowship, daily practice, and training. The Eastern religions filled those hungers in me. I was shocked when, years later, I saw a church that provided serious training to its members. They had a whole catalog of courses in Christian education topics: evangelizing, ordination, Bible doctrine classes, communication, etc. I hadn't returned to Jesus and the Church at that time, but I remembered thinking that if this were available at the church I had left, maybe I would have never left.
Money has nothing to do with a relationship with Jesus Christ. The only payment that was made was between Jesus and the Father, and it was with blood. Jesus offers us relationship with Himself, with His Father, who is Yahweh, and the Holy Spirit. There is no money involved, only the currency of love.
The fact that you reduce someone choosing to serve Jesus Christ (be they of Indian descent or not) to a mere matter of accepting some monetary bribe is exactly what I was talking about when I said all other religions reject Jesus. He made the only way to God through His own blood and death, and then people such as yourself, write this greatest act of love and what it purchases for humanity off as some trite event or story used to attract a following and has no power. This is denial of Jesus Christ. It doesn't land in the realm of respecting Him even. The line is drawn in the sand when you say such things, and especially when you believe them. I know that part of you knows better than that. Do not believe that lie.
I don't know if you surrendered your life to Jesus back when you said you were a Christian. I don't know if you truly repented of your sins and truly placed your trust in Jesus alone. But if you did, you can be sure that Jesus has been pursuing you all this time away. He is Faithful and will not give up trying to reach you. The fact that you're commenting on the Billy Graham channel is a sign of His mercy. He has not turned you away. Jesus desires that you draw near to Him.
I pray and know Jesus will keep presenting Himself to you in various ways. I pray you will receive Him in those moments. If you do, you will see more and more that Jesus Christ is The Truth, and that He longs for you to come Home to Him.
