- Every popular franchise - and by that I mean EVERY SINGLE popular television franchises that exists - gets their reboot, and Tsuburaya's long-running Ultra Series is no exception. After a 15-year hiatus with what seems like the last Ultra Series in the 1980s, the greatest icon of Japan finally returns with one of the flashiest and most colourful Ultramen ever created, the first of many Ultra-heroes to be introduced to post-1990s audiences and the one destined to kick-start the Ultra Series back into awesomeness, Ultraman Tiga!!!

No doubt, this is my best childhood memory.
As a Chinese kid, I’ve never understand what happened in Tiga, but the theme and this song literally light my little heart up.
Now as a grown up, binged watched all the episodes with subtitles, nostalgia hits hard my guys, it hits hard.
Fun Fact:Tiga name is taken from Indonesian
Also Chinese. And is my first ultraman

We need more Ultraman Tiga on the screen.
I grew up with the Chinese version so I didn't hear Take Me Higher until later, but I think the Chinese Version is better but maybe it's just because I grew up with it. I agree there is no Ultraman Tiga unless you use a pirated site. I recommend KissAsian.ch
I remember when ultraman series back then used to explode the monsters into pieces, that was the most satisfying thing ever. I don't think they did it again since ultraman cosmos series. But nowadays all of the explosion were either a cgi or just dissappear completely which is less cooler than it used to be.....
I noticed that too, it's such a shame, really. Practical effects are so much cooler
Ultraman series has become too pg nowaday first they took away slicing the monster in half (it mostly from showa era) now they took away explosion of the monster into pieces

実は90年代ですね。V6のデビューが1995年なのでデビューして一年くらいのときに長野くんがティガやってたんです。
デビュー一年で主役張るのはすげ〜
もう25、6年経ちますね。
二回出てくる怪獣漏れなく好き
オンエア当時小学4年から5年の頃だったから、家族で夕飯食べながら見てたから懐かしい。
土曜の夕方6時にやってたから、その後のニュースの森、筋肉番付、どうぶつ奇想天外、世界ふしぎ発見とこの頃の土曜の夜はホントによかった。
正にゴールデンタイムだった

Especially Powered's series (The Ultimate Hero); tried watching that awful trainwreck of a show back in 2014, when I'm done I feel like I just received a reach-around from Alien Baltan :P

Ah... Ultraman Tiga. My introduction to Ultraman. In my country "Tiga" means three in Malay and Tiga himself has 3 main forms. Too bad the quality of current Ultra series isn't as good and like Kamen Rider (which I got into almost a decade later thanks to Dragon Knight and certain online sites), it started to focus more on the toys and gimmicks.
In all fairness Ultraman has been a cash cow franchise since day 1, and their main income has always been toys, cards, collectibles and the like

Even tho I were born in 2003 but me and my friend love ultraman because of Tiga
And I still love him he the reason I was open to the world of heroes.....
But now the Ultraman series start to become like Kamen rider and also boring to watch...
The new ones are too "flashy". Maybe appropriate for the Marvel-obsessed crowd today, but not really suitable for long-time fans :P

Matzenn Actually it was the first Ultraman who first faught in human form. Against Dada Ultraman shrunk himself down to human form to fight but it lasted for like 5 secs since Dada went into monster size. Technically still counts as a fight though.
