Apologies about the wind noise guys.. it lasts 2 mins💨💨💨💨💨
Finally someone appreciating Levy! There so many super UA-camrs who gang up on Levy in and too many channels give them air time for the clicks and bullying. Well done mate for speaking your mind! Coys!
Give your head a wobble
Thanks Michael, theres no echo chambers on this channel. Always have been happy to have all opinions heard and debated (when my wifi allows for live streaming). There are channels that have 10 people on a panel all saying the same thing ad it's always Levy Out. Thats not interesting to me
@@SpursTalkShow it's a shame because certain channels give them so much red carpet well done for being a fair platform to air without being cornered and bullied
Just subscribed - excellent info on this subject - looking forward to more!
Welcome aboard!
Pitch moving 7m per minute so it doesn't take them 48h to move it. In Discovery documentry they said complete turn over from football pitch⚽ to NFL pitch🏈 took 4.5h 🤷♂️
Just going off the details in the reports Michal...
Totally agree with you, Sean (& I am of the fuddy duddy generation!), about the need in this day and age for THFC to have multiple additional revenue/ income streams in order for Spurs to provide Conte with the quality of players he requires in order to compete with the likes of Man City, Chelsea etc. it makes total sense to get the Stadium Naming Rites sorted asap … fingers crossed this time it is with Google (who incidentally are reasonably ethically-friendly! Something we as ‘tribal’ fans can use to beat up the oil consuming corporate deals, generally contravening FFP Practices, done by our rivals!)
Keep up the good work. Ozzie sends excitable doggie greetings to Bugsy!
No billionaires are ethically friendly. Google interferes into people's privacies through terms and conditions- their personal life, their cards, debit/credit while payments, their messages, their everything. And you don't know where your infos are going. So, it's not like Google doesn't do anything unethical.
@@adityashrivastava8498 Hence the reason I stated: “ … REASONABLY ethically-friendly … “
@@francisschott2141 typical excuses from Spurs fans to defend the owners and their decisions, and blame somebody else owners. Wrong is wrong regardless. Employing indigenous people and oppressing them to work for you is definitely not reasonably ethically friendly. It's bad as anything. And that owner stayed at the club for 21 years. Fans don't wanna talk about it.
@@adityashrivastava8498 I totally agree with everything you have said. However, I am mystified, you do not appear to be a Tottenham Hotspur FC fan, which begs the question, what are you doing on the site?
Currently we are only allowed 16 major non-association football events a year, we would have ask the council for extension to our licensing
Did'nt know that Jamie.. thanks for the insight and info buddy
TOTTENHAM don't ask Haringey council they tell them.
Well said ...top man coys
Cheers Lynchy
I've never complained about Levy being a shrewd businessman off field and growing the club, and they deserve credit for many things they've done in that sense, however his involvement in sporting matters and also their overly safe economic strategy have held us back at significant times when you have to be prepared to sacrifice a bit of security in the name of gaining sporting advantages on the pitch. That's where corporate mentality hinders growth in a sport industry I think, but depends on the personalities of the people involved.
I 100% agree with you. As property people they are used to getting 7-8% dividends on safe assets and have a very low risk tolerance. Too low to be super successful in football where the appetite for risk needs to be slightly more aggressive. One hand washes the other in my opinion. It is their shrewd business that has delivered us to a position where we can now kick on. Had we had different owners we may never have got their in the first place. I certainly do not believe we would have the best stadium in the world that is capable of generating hundreds of millions in revenues into the future. We will never know
Bang on the money buddy! 🥊
Cheers Paul. Hope you're well mate
Another point on the Crypto arena in LA is it is used by two team like the San Siro. The Lakers and the Clippers use it.
Oh wow didnt realise that Psyder.. so they would have events all week every week during their season! Great insight. Appreciate that mate
Hello mate! Greetings from Sydney. Get yourself a wind muff for your microphone. Eliminate wind noise. Love your location. Beautiful scenery 👌
Hey Mash, appreciate the comment and apologies, it only lasts 2 mins but i didnt notice it until after it went live. Love Sydney, lived there and later in Melbourne back in 2013! You have a wonderful country buddy.
@@SpursTalkShow Australia's too far! All my cousins live in Germany, Switzerland and Austria! I told my dad why didn't you go there? Bahahahahahahahaha
hahahaha mate you havent got a bad lot in life.. a lovely place to live. Apart from the football being on in the middle of the night.. the rest of the package is delightful
@@SpursTalkShow yes yes football in the stupid early hours of the morning lol
Well said Sean! As a 45+ year Spurs fan I don’t understand anyone who can’t see the progress the team has made both on and off the pitch! I believe we are at the beginning of a great transformation at the club and like it or not that is down to Chairman. He has understood that the football club business model has had to adapt to survive. At the same time I think he has also recognized his own shortfalls and brought on a Director of Football. Both of which could not have been easy. We look to be ahead of the pack in this transformation which other clubs will eventually have to make. Growth is rarely a straight positively sloped line. Let’s be patient support the club on and off the pitch and see where we are in 3 to 5 years time!
great take mate.. agree 100%
Progress?! I am a similar age to yourself. When I was young we regularly won things. That is the only metric that matters.
There is context though Jim. Asterix's and scoreboards comes to mind. One more trophy and we would be bang in line with the traditional run rate. Losing on pens to Utd in the cup etc.. that goes a different way and we dont have a Levy Out argument. Its never been harder to win a trophy than it is right now.
Does this mean that any team winning the prem other than Spurs will now be taken down from google as "mis-information"?
Hahaha, lets hope there are some indirect benefits mate!!
The amount of events that can be held is more governed by council licensing, there is a limit already set but I can’t remember what it is. The costs are minimal for an upgrade on such a new technology certainly doesn’t impact anything on the footballing side
I didnt realise that initially Craig. Glad i do now. Not something that is out of the question at all
Welcome to the Google stadium!!!
Doesn't sound horrible mate
@@SpursTalkShow yeah that's true. There's worse names out there that could be used and besides, over time wed just get used to it and wouldn't be bothered about it.
So we could be The Google Stadium and there was me thinking that The Yorkshire Tea Stadium had a nice ring about it
I can hear the banter now - "The only cup you have is a Teacup"
Sean you have to fix the wind noise in the mic. the wind noise is distracting.
yeah apologies about that Johnny, didn't notice it until it went live.. only lasts a couple minutes
THIS IS A SUBJECT THAT HAS TO BE RAISED WAY MORE OFTEN!!!! Goood job m8!!!
500 % agree with all that u said. Demanding wins with almost half the budget of the 'richest' clubs out there..., just isn't going to work long-term ever. It's just so much a Klopp or Conte can do. If u wanna eat at a 1000 dollar buffet u can't come in with a budget of 100 dollars... it's just the reality if life and sports.
100% Benji! People want the best but dont want to know or accept what it takes to get it! It doesnt suit the easy narrative.
We could compete if we wanted to..they dont want to compete and we pay the price.
Im not sure I agree with that take James.
Hi.. I live near the ground and although events bring life and meaning to this somewhat rough and down trodden part of town they really disrupt the locals with closure of the High Road and major traffic issues.. Also getting a train in the area is a nightmare. Us locals have never been given tickets or any type of compo gesture for the disruption it all causes us.. More events may sound great being that I'm so close to the stadium but in reality they will just be a pain in the butt.. More drunk fools peeing and even pooing down our alleyways 🙄 nice
Good point well made George! Must be bloody horrible to get around on match days.. especially if you didnt like Tottenham or Football which Im sure some of the locals don't
I live on the N17 plot too. I'm all for the more events the better. I wanna see tottenham buzzing regularly while boosting our local economy.
The naming of the stadium opens up a larger debate, what is a football club? Is it the badge? The location? The players and individuals? The local match going fans? The global fans? Or all fans? The owners of the business? The history?
Ultimately it will never be one factor but a combination of things, so what ties a club to a stadium and its name? Obviously history and familiarity and the local match going fan, but the intl fan may appreciate the nature of the pilgrimage as would someone visiting any historical site but if the match moved nearer to them actually would they be offended or would they be excited to attend a game?
We all appreciate the importance of money, how many times on a UA-cam station will someone say this or that player should be purchased for tens of millions and speak as if its a pound? So any method of raising income should largely be welcomed?
There are more questions though, what is in it for the sponsor? They want brand awareness and hosting football matches is fine but they want as many different people as footfall be it at different events and the daily geographical footfall, the trouble with this if its purely football it is a limited audience of the same people plus being associated with one club alienates other fans, in Glasgow, Celtic and Rangers often have the same sponsors because you don't want to halve their market, Sugar puffs in Sunderland weren't sold because of their association with Newcastle as an example.
So I suspect any sponsor wanting value for money will want limited club branding.
I also have a question what event generates more income? A music event or football game, i suspect the music event due to length of the event so more time to eat and drink and increased merchandise sales, football season ticket holders won't buy merchandise every week while people attending a unique event will.
Obviously it depends on the agreement with the band or promoter the divide of the revenue but I suspect a one off event is more lucrative, so if dates conflicted why wouldn't you move a football match so another event could be held? This would also please the global Spurs fans say a game was hosted in Seoul?
Football clubs grounds are often sponsored for decent money but not huge sums compared to the tv rights, sportswear sponsorships etc and this is why I suspect the sum Spurs achieve will be based on how much of the ground they will sell, already it has no statues outside and little recognition of football, if they sell the rights to Google they will want little or no association with the club they are sponsoring a venue not a club, and that's what I suspect Levy is doing.
Does it matter? Some will say yes some will say no, but once a club looses its roots does it loose some of its emotional value?
The Argument as well Arsenal have the Emirates but its clear its a football stadium because of the murals and statues, i suspect the Google Arena will have little football branding apart from on match days, does this matter? Is the club selling part of its unique selling point, so reducing the value of the club brand but increasing the value of the location.
Wowsers Jonathan. Quite the comment bro. Really appreciate it! And you as a lot of questions. A LOT! These questions could make up a 2-hour stream my man and they are very well answered as you've gone along. The rule of thumb financially is that Tottenham makes just shy of £2m per match in revenues and just over £1m from leasing as they control 100% of the costs and revenue. The boxing for example was higher however, as far as I'm aware (and could be very wrong as the information I read was a while ago) Tottenham charged somewhere around £850,000 for the stadium rental and took 50% of profits from concessions exc tickets. The fact that the tickets for the stadium were insanely high was not of benefit to Tottenham but to the various promoters. In terms of the degrading of the brand by changing the name.. look that is what it is, How do you put a price on the familiarity of White Hart Lane etc? Apparently its £25-30m per year. So much to to contemplate in your comment mate. Please come back again and if streaming is your thing then Im happy to have you on to discuss this more in detail if and when the deal is done.
@@SpursTalkShow thank you for your reply, it would be interesting to know how much in bar, restaurant takings etc are made at these events, quite often parent companies will split the revenue between different companies eg the property company might get the revenue from the lease while a hospitality company takes the drinks revenue. It can make the picture a little murky to find the truth.
Having roughly 25 guaranteed football events gives a venue a good starting point in repayment of the loan to build the venue.
Spurs and Arsenal have both used Wembley in recent years to host matches so as fans are we too tied to a location? I seem to remember Spurs form at Wembley was pretty good so the problem of home advantage wasn't a factor, Arsenal didn't fair so well with their Wembley Champions league matches.
Unlike Italy our clubs and fans are reluctant to share stadiums, it has been muted that Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool, Everton could have shared stadiums but it was met with a resounding no.
It's an interesting topic, and is it more acceptable to get £10 million and share branding with Google or for £20 million give all branding away? it is a gamble because i still remember Middlesbroughs ground as the bt cell net ground they have probably changed sponsors since then but the original sponsor sticks, and Newcastle St James Park was never the JB Sports stadium because of the history. Rebranding i think only works with new stadiums, and if Google did sponsor it, I would still refer to it as the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as thats what its been called since its been built, how quickly would locals refer to it as the Google stadium, i am not sure.
There is no right or wrong answer, and Google will be thinking about the value for money they get, i suspect the biggest selling point is the NFL games.
Once a club looses its home, its then easier to sell the idea of games being moved around the world i suspect.
The question is, is the new stadium Tottenham home ground or just a venue that home games are played, West Ham definitely sold their soul as the City of London Stadium is nothing like Upton Park.
@@jonathanporter6479 tottenham will always keep 100% of the food and drink revenue when the stadium is in use for no matter what.
@@zukispur5493 is their a food and catering business or is it part of the football business? Usually they are kept separate.
Sometimes part of an event the act will get part of the catering revenues, sometimes the location charges a fee for stadium use, it varies artist to artist, event to event.
@@jonathanporter6479 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FOOTBALL CLUB get hosting fees plus all food drink and merchandise revenue. That's non negotiable
HI Shaun Listening to your Talk
Levy is only a 30 percent Stake holder he is seen at most home Games unlike the Owner JOE Lewis who seems to have Zero interest in Tottenham Football Club I dont believe he was even Present at the Biggest Game of Club History CL Final its a strange arrangement as Levy has to Answer to Joe Lewis
The Question is Does Joe Lewis just want X amount of returns form Tottenham & Levy Hands are Tied !!!!!!!!!!!
I dont think so, i think Lewis is a general silent partner who listens to Levy and trusts Levys processes. For Lewis it is 100% all about the sales value. He couldnt give a shiiit about Spurs or anything else... but that is not uncommon for general football financiers
@@SpursTalkShow Morel less what i have said Levy has to Get Joe Lewis Approval
on Finances as you have said he is only intrested in Valuve of Club !!!!!!!!!!!
@@paulpablo7810 wot as in Joe is it ok if the club invests x amount of its own money on a player? Hardly.
Great..can we have a trophy now please?
Hope so soon James. Its never been as tough to win a trophy as it is at the moment I think mate.
It makes no sense whatsoever to build a state of the art stadium at huge cost and only use it maybe 25 times max per year. Those that think it should only be used for THFC games are living in fantasy land. It needs to be utilised as many days of the year as possible to make it a viable money spinner that will ultimately help improve the team. It's a no brainer for me.
100% M C.. glad theres people that see the wood from the trees. Appreciate the comment mate
Could it be that the spanner in world in a takeover is that levy wants a seat on the board?
A seat on what board? HE already has a seat on the Tottenham board?
The thing is, offensive, exciting AND winning football, for sure if u've got a double budget compared to the second largest, sure it can be done! So for God's sake, let's all work together to put ourselves in that situation first b4 everyone starts to whine about the display on the pitch!!!
Would be great to have both. If our forward line were taking chances then i think it would be different.. we could be 2-0 up earlier in games and then the football can look sexier as the other teams need to come out and play. Just need a few things to tick and we will be looking good i feel
Levy and Lewis are disgustingly rich...they've delivered nothing.
Didn’t come before because of COVID.
Was likely far fewer options until Covid was relatively over
Doesn’t the women’s team play 19 games in the stadium as well?
No they play in Barnet I believe mate
I did forget to include the cup and European games in my numbers though so there are probably more than 30 events in the stadium. There could be 50+ in a few years. Each one bringing in £1-2m rev
Many hate levy more than they love TOTTENHAM. it's like they've stopped loving their wives coz of their father in-laws
hahahahahaha thats hilarious
I agree, Levy does maximise the potential in business deals. But, One question Shaun, once all these deals are done, and still Levy doesn't provide managers with world class players to win silverwares, then will you hold Levy accountable then??
I do hold Levy accountable for many things mate, just not everything. I don't see Tottenham as being in such a bad spot so there isn't that much blame to go around in my eyes. Stop listening to those people on the channels that you frequent when they tell you I'm a LEVY fan boy. I'm not. I just don't think he deserves the constant levels of abuse that he gets and generally I think he's done a relatively good job for Spurs. Levy has done plenty wrong and plenty right. Either way, I believe that this news if it goes through will be the ticket that you all want mate. If this deal gets done then Levy and ENIC will, in my opinion, begin the process of quietly looking for an exit. Any buyer would want the guaranteed revenue streams of 20 year leases. It could be a win win for Levy Outters as well. You should be happy
I also belive it will take £500-600m to close the gap on City and seeing as they are in every competition we are in, I don't think it's likely we win any competitions any time soon unless Man City drop the ball. My expectations are set accordingly.
@@SpursTalkShow Fair enough. Please do talk about and have discussions on ENIC employing indigenous people and exploiting them because of their condition, this may not be covered in the media but it's very bad bad regardless. It's like going back to mediveal times and exploiting indigenous labourers. That also violates human rights. Nobody wants to talk about it. Everyone talks about Newcastle owners, Abramovich, Sheikh Mansour etc, nobody wants to talk about Lewis' issue because then they won't be able to push the narrative of moral compass. Supporting exploitation of indigenous people is a very bad moral compass. Trust me mate.
@@adityashrivastava8498 if you're talking about Patagonia blame the corrupt government in Argentina
@@zukispur5493 Yeah Spurs' owner for his selfishness and greed, took away indigenous' people land. Joe Lewis' company exploited indigenous people and did labour abuse. He is also human rights abuser in that way.
And if you are defending the indefensible, don't blame Abramovich, blame Putin, don't blame City owners, blame UAE government, don't blame Newcastle owners, blame Saudi government.
Sell Totenham to the Sultan of Brunei. He has loads of oil money.
hahaha.... I dont think that would happen for political reasons
alot of wind noise
i know.. apologies. lasts for 2 mins
I'm sure a naming rights deal has positive tax implications for sponsoring company.
It's hardly like Google need to advertise their product. Do we say "Look it up on the internet", do we say "Ask Jeeves" no. "Google it" - everyone knows want we mean.
I'm sure if a deal gets done it will be a good deal for Google and Tottenham Hotspur and of course ENIC.
I agree that certain clubs "cheat" money into the team, Spurs are different and I can support this club with a clear conscience - for now. Trouble might come when ENIC do sell.
And this could be the catalyst for an attempt to sell. Will be interesting Derek. Time will tell
@@SpursTalkShow I'd be cool with Alphabet Inc, as long as they leave the football decisions to someone that knows about football and for any Americans reading this - I mean soccer! 😃
A poor team enjoying squatters rights in a world-class stadium is ENIC'S gift to the fans.😠
hahahah.. not my take but appreciate the comment
This is getting ridiculous. You defend levy in every way possible. Are you a levy or Tottenham fan?
I choose to view life through a lens based on reality and context... you clearly fit the evidence to the narrative... like so many others. This is good news.. why are you angry lol????
"dO a GoOglE sEaRcH fOr A tRoPhY 🤣" - incoming 🥲
