- Visual approach on runway 03 in Singapore Seletar.
Seletar is a business airport in Singapore with a runway of 1836m (6024 feet) with a challenging approach for runway 03, almost a traffic circuit pattern.
The constraints of not penetrating the Sembawar control zone, the presence of several noise sensitive areas plus the tiny space to maneuver make this approach one of the most beautiful and unique one in the world, with a 180° turn directly from downwind to final with a continous descent at a vertical speed of about 1400 ft/min.
At the end you will hear me thanking my Captain several times: reason is that this was my first approach ever in Singapore of this type and I had to fight all my fears and apply all the knowledge I have of the aircraft to make a succesfull and safe approach. I wouldn't have made it without his support and this was a milestone in my, still short, aviation career.
Unedited version with all dialogues. Enjoy!
Bravo 👏
hello welcome to singapore. i live around the area when u starts to turn 180 degrees to the runway. i have been seeing more vistajets landing in selatar airport recently. nice to watch the point of view of the pilot from one of those jets.
I used to land at this airport when i was a student pilot back in 1992. Really missed those days learning how to fly circuit pattern. We used RW21 back then.
Great correction! It was getting low on the approach. And the hump at the center of the runway makes it seem shorter than it really is.
He said Thank you very much like Latka.
Bravo Gianni! Bel video, molto utile.
Grazie Carlo! Lo renderò disponibile come parte del briefing dell'aeroporto!
Thanks for such a fantastic video. Looking forward to more Seletar landing if you fly to Singapore soon, happy landings
Thanks a lot! It’s gonna happen very soon…stay tuned!
@@GianniMantellini Cool thanks for the heads up info. I believed u got radar vectored all the way until join downwind for visual apph rwy 03 👍😊
@@747flyboy Exactly, radar vectors until left downwind Rwy 03 and then cleared for the visual approach.
@@GianniMantellini Hope you get one vector from the South of Singapore straight in for 03 👍😊
I remember Seletar when it was still Paya Lebar airport. Good times!
Seletar Airport & Paya Lebar airport (now airbase) are two different things.

Since when Seletar Airport WSSL became Paya Lebar Airport? Since when PLAB (Paya Lebar Airbase, now) has Runway 03/21? Paya Lebar Airbase(now and before),has been Runway 02/20 ie. Navigation compass 020° direction or 200° direction, same as Changi Airport! El Fulano, are you really a pilot? This goes to show that you are neither a pilot nor an ATC/aviation enthusiast!
