I was lucking enough to see her live during her Private Dancer Tour. When looking at any old clips of her, beginning with Ike & Tina and throughout her entire career, regardless of who she was performing with, she ALWAYS looks like she's having an absolute blast on stage! An absolute legend.
My husband and I saw Tina perform in concert many years ago. Her “opening act” was Lionel Richie. All of the young girls in the audience knew each and every word to Lionel’s songs and even sang along with him. It was an evening that we shall always cherish!😊

The drummer is Richie Hayward of Little Feat. To hear Bill Payne tell the story, he was working with Ike in the studio until Ike got crxazy and kept Ritchie as a literal prisoner in the studio feeding him coke with a gun on the mixing console for a couple of days, totally whacked out, when someone comes in and says they're headed to the Kirshner show. Hayward was zonked out and terrified, and nobody told him what the numbers were, so he just counted it off and did his best.
What a great show !!! Tina Turner is awesome not only that my mom is awesome because she’s singing with her on stage, she’s the one in the middle ! Stoney ❤️❤️ my mom is blessed to be able to sing with a legend xoxo she definitely has stories 😀
Respect: when Tina's talking about respect walking towards Ike, some members of the band are smiling like Edna at 6:24 and Tina seems really pissed when she says: " he had the nerve to ask me what d'you want?". It seems like she went through all this.😊
Ike liked to portray himself as a pimp who ruled everything from the background which he did, but on stage, Tina was the picture and he was the frame. She sometimes let him shine like here in the song Pick me up, but it's obvious he wasn't at ease. He was so bashful in the spotlight! Yes he was. 😊 Fantastic duo! Unforgettable. He ruined his whole life and career because of cocaine. What a waste!
Best proud marry performance 🔥🔥🔥
I love Ike and Tina's duet for Pick Me Up!
So do I. This song was penned by Tina's sister Alline.
@@hellochannel6344 I like it too🤗🎶 What does penned mean 🤔
@@pairrynwatson4229 a song penned by somebody means it has been written by this person.
Tina and the Ikettes choreography was always on point! Back when you made up your own..No chorograher coming in to teach them 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Phillychezz - Yes, their dance steps were rocking & rolling 💯 They were the choreographers A1 💜🎯💃🏾👏🏽
Motown had in-house choreographers. Pretty much all the major labels did. What Ike and Tina did was unique, they were a self-contained unit.

Needed more of Ike's material.

Tina is Amazing! ❤️ her. When my parents were married they saw them in concert!
Tina was a real rocker.

You know she did!
@@paisleyprincess7996 sure do !
Tina at 7:13: Today things have changeg
Ike: Not really
🤣🤣
Yes, that hit my ear too!
Great to know Ike was up on the times
He said not really twice. Cold blooded. If you want a “do right woman” you got to be a “do right man” …. IKE: not really
@@layyjl7478 crazy. I like saying Ike died broke and Tina died rich. I am glad the 70s are over because it wasnt ok to hit a woman.
Tina Turner you n the Ikettes have the best, all time dance moves "Rough"
Love you Tina.
I respect you highly,as I respect my "Buddhism

She was giving us a story when they performed "Respect" on that breakdown . Ike's adlibs gave it away as well . 🤔 🙄 🤭 .
yeah she probably got her butt whipped after that too. 😕🤦🏽♀️
@@hellochannel6344 Seriously🤷🏽she probably did, just because she was talking about him 👺
Tins wasn't scared when Ike realized Tina was behind him He gets away just proves Tina fought AWOL as Ike
“But I broke bread wit ya neighbors….” And the subsequent lines before the chorus hit so hard. Alline used to write that good stuff.
TINA, UNA FUERZA DE LA NATURALEZA..!

singing Respect with Ike is a insult or a geniality
