I've a DX150, paired with MDR-Z1R....does me just fine. Sometimes played through a HP-V1...yum yum 👍. The biggest problem is the mastering of the source.
Great video, you really described it in detail to the very best of your ability, much appreciated. I think this may be my first ever DAP, perhaps it's slight "overkill" but why not go for something really good to begin with?
It is nice to start with something really awesome! Especially when it comes to audiophile stuff it’s nice to have something that has really good usability too, as some stuff can be a little obtuse to use…
considering that the amp 13 does not have a balanced output, teroline with stock amplifier, is it just as good or is it better Fiio M17? Thank you
Have you compared the standard module to the AMP13 Nutube module?
Hello, I ordered it for my IE 600 SENHEISSER in-ear headphones. IS IT GOOD?
Thank you for taking the time to review this suburb unit not heard it yet but sounds awesome looking for an upgrade over my AR m2 was a great player at the time it came out but definitely could do with an upgrade. A worthy consideration you think?
Definitely worth looking into in terms of sound quality and performance. I love the slim form factor on the AR m2, and that's going to be hard to beat.
Does this put up any fight with the n8ii ? I have not heard a better dap than the n8ii.. and I've assessed all the high end stuff except the lp6pro
I haven't had the chance to do a side-by-side, but I would like to compare the Amp13 (NuTube) with the Cayin N8ii if I get the chance.
I just got out of CanJam SoCal and bought one after an hour of listening
do you lose the shimmering and air in the treble sound with the DX320? how does DX320 compare with DX300?
The DX320 and DX300 are pretty similar, but I wasn't able to do a side by side to hear the differences. I'm pretty treble sensitive so I would say there's still a good amount of "shimmer" though potentially a little less air at the very top. I found things like an Eric Clapton lead on a Strat or the violins in a crescendo to have just enough bite in the treble, but without hitting that range that makes me cringe a little bit.
@@BloomAudio thanks! how does dx320 soundstage compare against astell & kern sp2000 which u praised for detail + soundstage?
@@Viewer13128 DX320 doesn't quite match SP2000 for detail and soundstage. It might be close on the detail, but it isn't as wide.
Hello. Was the combination DX320 and Kinera Nanna 2.0 successful?
Yes, I really liked those. The balanced connection really opened up the Nanna 2.0 and brought the imaging to life.
@@BloomAudio okay. thanks
between the SE300 and iBasso DX320 which one is the best option? those are my final two options for my first Portable Digital Audio Player
In terms purely of SQ, I'd rate the SE300 higher. The big advantage iBasso has is the freedom and customization options (both in terms of the OS, apps, and things like Amp cards), otherwise I'd give the edge to SE300 overall.
Recently auditioned Fiio’s M11 Plus ESS. A great value considering the formidable lifespan of DAP’s. Nonetheless, I returned it. The X version of this player catches my eye now for some reason 😍 Wonder how it stacks by comparison 🤔
What didn't you like about the M11 Plus ESS? I had considered it but found a 320 X edition on sale so decided to get that instead.
Actually, I’m pressed to critique the FiiO. Sound signature was clean, rich & bold. Interface was snappy and responsive. Graphics were cool. Kit was comprehensive. Fitted and seamless case and preinstalled screen protector. No volume knob though 🧐 The tune between the devices are different. One isn’t better than the other, if you ask me. The FiiO is darker than the Ibasso, but that’s not a bad thing. Nonetheless, I prefer the aesthetics, the amp versatility and additional power of the DX320X. Comes at 2-2.5 the cost though 🤔 In conclusion, both players are satisfactory to great.
Which one is better for listening to metal music?
I don't think there would be a strong edge either way between these two DAPs. Plus, idk, metal is a really broad genre the KANN Max might be better for classic thrash and *core, while the DX320 is better for power and prog? I'm not saying that's the case, just that with the subtle differences between the two, it's hard to make universal statements about genre.
I have traditionally used portable DACs connected to a phone for my travel needs. Does this DAP match or exceed the type of sound I get from something like an iFi Gryphon?
DX320 is definitely an improvement in sound quality over the iFi Gryphon. I'd say as a general rule, there's a $200-300 SQ gap between DAPs and portable DACs, so a $500 portable DACs would likely be on par with the SQ from an $750 DAP. Obviously there are some exceptions and not every DAC or DAP is created equal, but that would be about the expectation.
How does it compare to the dx260 ?
DX320 is a little more musical and organic feeling (though not as much as typical A&K sound), while DX260 is a little more incisive, but they're very close in terms of detail retrieval and technical performance.
An LG V series has 75 steps of audio for a fraction of the price with a quad DAC. I mean don’t get me wrong I would love to own an ibasso but just saw the price and wow 😮
i hear ibasso suck with their firmware. a lot of bug and issue and didnt get resolved.
Does it sound better than mojo 2?
Overall I would rate the DX320 higher than the Mojo 2. There's a more natural overall timbre and presentation in in the DX320 in particular.
$3000+ did I read that right UK Amazon?
Can you watch videos on this?
Yes, I've used my older model iBasso to download and stream videos. I know Amazon Prime, Hulu, and Disney+ work on it, but I'm not 100% about Netflix as some past models had issues with Netlfix, and haven't tested some of the newer services.
my pick is the SE200
Based purely on sound, I might say the SE200 as well - and if A&K had added all the interface updates from SP2000T (and SE180 and SR25 MK2) it would definitely be a very tight match between SE200 and DX320. SE200 remains one of my all time favorites.
@@BloomAudio which DAC on the SE200 are u referring to for sounding better than the DX320?
@@Viewer13128 The AKM DAC. That channel hits a sort of "mini-SP2000" sound.
This or the astell & Kern sp2000t
yeah i have this same question as well.. this or sp2kt
Having handled both of them, the A&K is just such a great looking and feeling device that it makes it hard to be objective. Interface-wise I'd definitely go with the DX320. There are also a bunch of little quirks to the SP2000T - like if you use wifi streaming and tube mode together, you get some intermittent interference. I would personally take SP2000T in tube mode over DX320 on pure sound, but then I haven't heard the AMP13 for DX320...
@Steve W. would love if you can elaborate a bit more why it's better with amp13 vs without amp 13. and have u tried amp12 and/or amp12exn?
Picked dx320 over sp2000t, as it has better treble and dynamics
0 to 63 is obviously 64 steps, nothing confisung about it.
