Homeless Teen Charged with Murder of University of Texas Freshman

- The 17-year-old arrested on Friday morning has been charged with the murder of a student at the University of Texas at Austin. He was identified as Meechaiel Criner and was living in a homeless shelter. Police say he had several items belonging to 18-year-old freshman dance student Haruka Weiser. Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo said at a press conference, "We are very certain that the suspect we have in custody is the suspect responsible for the murder of this beautiful young woman." #InsideEdition

He's a black male in the city of a bunch of gay white men. Pretty much the worst combination possible. there's no better evidence available right now so of course they're going to arrest him and charge him with a crime even if he is innocent.

Does anyone know if the has admitted guilt? I saw his attorney in an interview, and he basically admitted that his client was guilty. I've never heard of that before. His attorney said that the kid has 'a lot of problems',...then he expressed consideration for Haruka's family. The way he combined those 2 things gave the impression that he was apologizing to the family for his clients actions,.............
May she rest in peace. I was going to say couldn’t he just have found some of her property from somewhere. But what he said to the school newspaper definitely sounded dodgy. Saying something along the lines of people with learn what I’m capable of and they’ll remember my name.

+Ashley Lares I care about this case alot. I was first because right when I got the notification about the perpetrator being caught I clicked on the video. In another comment I said "R.I.P Haruka 😥" I know that it was incredibly childish to comment "first" on such a video, but my intentions were not wrong. I am deeply sorry for what Haruka endured and what her family has to endure. As for the criminal, I can only hope he is put to justice.

+humza raza From what I've read, they have surveillance video of him following Haruka on her way from class. Her singed notebook was found in the abandoned building he tried to dispose of evidence in. And he was found with her Macbook and one of her shoes. Pretty solid evidence...
