Convert from Lutheran Church here... I came to the Catholic Church to get to the source, the origin, of the faith. I was surprised that the Norvis Ordo was so close to the Episcopal and Lutheran. Then I found the Latin Mass and it is what I was searching for. Latin Mass church by me is growing by leaps and bounds. They are constructing a much larger worship space because it is so packed. The Catholic Church should be the magnet that draws all believers to her. She should not change to appease.
Convert here. I go to a very reverent NO mass in an older Catholic church (not a modern box). Our priests have, thankfully, been very orthodox in their preaching/masses (no silly stuff). I am happy there - don't think I wd go to a traditional latin mass except out of curiosity to see what it's like. As a former protestant I do agree that the music sucks (and Catholics don't seem to like to sing). In my opinion standard hymns (i.e. Faith of Our Fathers/How Great thou Art) are much better than modern worship-style music (whether catholic or protestant). Better still wd be Gregorian chant TBH.
I agree with your "appeasement" comment. The logic seems to be "Let's become more Protestant, so they like us!" Not remembering the many 1000s of martyrs and dozens of popes that were slaughtered, including the 1st 20. All for the defense and love for the truth. Today, most of our bishops have become liberal politicians, with the only strong bishops being cast out.
It’s totally true what you say, but like you said, it’s impotent. We look like a Wimpy Church. It bothers me how pope Francis waters down the faith in so many ways when he speaks

That is very true! I am an adult convert and I lean traditionally in my faith because tradition challenges me more and asks more of me.
