    -------------------
A Mormon bishop in Meridian, Idaho (Vienna Woods Ward) recently invited an inactive, non-believing member to “come back to church and participate.”
He did just that and was then “invited” to sit down before he finished bearing his testimony. Several members, including the 1st Counselor in the bishopric, spoke with him afterwards.
FYI: This Mormon ward in Meridian, ID. lost quite a few members to the so-called “Remnant” movement (aka the Snufferites) prior to this incident: Here’s an article about the Remnant movement from the Salt Lake Tribune: www.sltrib.com...

For those saying what he did was inappropriate. Being I am a ex Mormorn I can see and agree with why he did it. You can't just leave the LDS faith. You have people who stop over unannounced. Family, the Bishop and Missionaries call and stop over. There all analyzing what is wrong with you and why you left the one and only true Church. Even though you ask them to stop contacting you it continues. Then they start trying to contact your kids. The LDS Church has no respect for your privacy when you leave the Church. So this guy knew what he had to do to buy his freedom. That's all he was doing, buying his freedom. I threatened my Dad with doing this if the harassment from the LDS Church and Family members didn't stop. My Dad knew I was serious and within weeks all contact ceased.

      @@danielmoore4024 Investigate this:
The word Adam means man, it also means one who can blush/flush, (show blood in the face) which Negroes, Latinos, Asians cannot do, it means reddish/white, etc.
Jacob's father Isaac and mother Rebecca were Syrians (Caucasians). Plus, the very word Laban means WHITE. Laban said to Jacob, "we're of the SAME skin". Laban was Rebecca's brother. Lebanon is named after Laban because of the snow capped mountain. Jacob said his father was a Syrian in Deut 26:5 which makes Jacob a white Syrian as well. Whites have transparent skin, when we're embarrassed we blush ,when we're frightened we "turn white as a ghost" and we also go flush or pale when we're ashamed just as Jacob's face went pale from being ashamed. That is a biblical description of a white Jacob. Jacob was a white Syrian just as president Assad is white. Even David was described in the same way as the rest of the Hebrews as having a white face with a red complexion. He was "ruddy and fair". As you know "fair" means light/white like fair skin, fair hair. (below) ALL the tribes came to David and said they're of the same flesh (white skin) as him. Samson was a Nazarite, they're Israelite's too, he was whiter than milk with a red complexion. Solomon was white with a red complexion. He had a white face, white abdomen, white neck, white nose, white legs like marble. He had emerald eyes like fish pools. I've showed Laban, Jacob, David, Samson, and Solomon were ALL white Hebrew/Israelite's. I too have brought several bible witnesses. Those mentioned are all blood related family members of Jesus. Jesus was born in Galilee making him a Galatian (Gaul/Celt) I can prove Galatians/Celts migrated from Macedonia and western Europe (Gaul) into Turkey. then into Galilee. Galatians get their name from the word gala meaning milk. (they're whiter than milk, more ruddy than rubies).

@@deeznutz8228 people tend to go back to what they know. But imagine, believing anything that Joseph Smith wrote in the days when you have the internet.
Here’s some facts: if the Book of Mormon were true, where is the historical evidence of his described “wars” between the two tribes in North America? Artifacts? Languages? Anything besides his “take my word for it,” policy? What about the Pearl of Great Price? Why again, does it come down to one man’s “translations” when they have been proven wrong time and time again. Where has the Bible ever been proven wrong? And if you can’t rely on the history that Joseph Smith claimed to be true, then why are you believing anything that he wrote? Last, if you look at the fruit his tree produced- he committed adultery, lied to his wife and followers, was found guilty of multiple crimes against his fellow man and neighbors, and made himself quite rich off of his followers.
Meanwhile, the Bible was written by over 40 different people over thousands of years, with all the books supporting and building off of eachother with absolutely no contradictions! (And despite never having access to one another to keep the story cohesive.) It has been proven historically accurate long before science could begin to fathom the truths it told. It has proven itself to be 100% flawless in its prophecies.
…Furthermore, did Christ walk the world as a rich man, taking everything from his followers and buying material and worldly land and items? Did he say to collect a billion dollars in a “church account”, or did he flip the tables of those who were making money off God’s followers? Did he advocate keeping any secrets from his people- handshakes or ceremonies or require ridiculous garments to worship? Or did he call the religious leaders “snakes and vipers who replaced God’s laws with man made rituals? Did he say to swear covenants? Or did he say to let your “yes be yes and your no be no, but to only worship God and serve your fellow man”?Did Christ show he walked with God’s authority by healing the blind, sick, and diseased? Did he resurrect and walk amongst the people- proving all the claimed? What about Joseph Smith?
Look, there was some good in some of the things Joseph Smith taught. Thats how deceivers work- they take 30% truth and encase it in 70% of lies. And I know it’s hard to accept that you have been taught things that simply aren’t true. That must be devastating, in fact. But it’s not your fault. You are only to blame if you continue to prefer the lie once you have the availability to learn the truth. So go learn it. Read the New Testament. Study Mormon church history and the accuracy of Smith’s historical accounts. Don’t be afraid. Only fear the Big Man upstairs. And Christ loves you. You wants you to come back in the fullness with HIM- no intermediary needed or wanted. ❤

The point of what the bishop was saying is not to hide the truth of doctrine but to present doctrine in an age-appropriate manner.. what's in the hearing of young children that lack the understanding.. of "poly" -
They don't even know what the word polygamy means... Any more than you would stand up and discuss sexuality in a public meeting and call out your testimony.
I believe that age appropriate education is right and important and I do not find any fault in the bishop correcting him for his verbal essay.
If the guy is really serious about returning to church.... And especially the fact that he was educated enough and even served a mission..

@@danielmoore4024 There's a difference random sites and legitimate resources. Why is it that everything is anti-Mormon when it doesn't have the church's endorsement? This is a common thing I encounter in most lds folks, when they are presented with arguments or anything that calls into question their beliefs, they claim, "it's anti Mormon."
God's word says to test all things, cling to what's true, reject every kind of evil, " (1 thes. 5:21-22). But it's as though Mormons only run instead of test truth claims.
The point I was making about public marriage records is that they show that marrying young girls was not the norm, that is a fact whether you like it or not. And secondly, how would law enforcement know Joseph was marrying all these women and girls if he's married in a Mormon ceremonial fashion where they do their own thing.
My friend, I admire your enthusiasm and your faith but faith is futile if misplaced. I have LDS friends and members I talk with fairly regularly. The bible is the objective source of authority. Anything that deviates is from the enemy. Prayers and blessings my friend.
P.S. I'll look into the things you directed me to pertaining to Joseph's marriages. It's been a while since I've considered these sources because I'm concerned more so with refuting Mormon gospel and doctrine.

Acts 3:21, Peter delivers his second sermon to those who witnessed the lame man walk again. Peter is referring to the eschaton or last days when God will finally restore things to His original intent, fellowship with God, the tangible and intangible living in unity.

I am so proud of this man. The false doctrine of LDS is one of the most poisonous things I've ever seen in faith. First of all, we are all lambs of God, we are all children, and Jesus loves the little children. He was one of the first to talk to them as they are - and 1 year or 100 is a blink of the eye in the name of the ONE TRUE GOD, the only god. The only one... So praise to the people who practice the way, as he would, and tell truths, no matter how uncomfortable they may be... Secrets are the root of all sin. Scripture supports the notion that all sin will be exposed in the light of the lord. Sacred is never a secret, and Jesus came to finish the laws of the past that excluded us from a Kingdom life, here on earth, as in heaven. I am so proud of the courage I see when people like this testify, even when scrutiny and subjectivity might put them into a place of ridicule. You did well, and you probably felt much like Jesus did, the first time he proclaimed that he is the son of man. There is no other. And no, they are not 3 separate gods. The Father (the Heart), the Son (the hand, or body), and the Spirit, (the mind) are all the same thing. God cut off his hand and put it on earth so that we had a physical manifestation of him. He gave us a pathway to him through the holy cancellor through his spirit, so we could learn to love him, on our own- no restrictions. I love your humility in the process of dealing with these folks. You did so well. God bless you.

    • @TimBrown-uf9lj
      @TimBrown-uf9lj 9 місяців тому

Age accountability and age appropriate topics are a little different. At age 8 & 9 you're working on principles of sharing, compassion, learning to get along. Take King David in the bible. Lessons for a 9 year old would be learning to have faith and trust in God to defeat our Goliaths, that we are all capable.
It's not the right age to go in and say David had many wives, yet he went and committed adultery. If a child brings it up, of course don't ignore it, talk about it. I believe 1 on 1 is the right environment for that as well, where they can feel comfortable saying everything, listened to and give back answers.
Give it about 3 more years, closer to puberty when the opposite sex starts to become of interest, then start talking about chastity, fornication, adultery.
The pulpit is a forum to incite faith and unity, when I feel drained from discussions like all these comments (in particular a friend shared this link and wanted my opinion) I like going back where I'm amongst like minded people and want to let my guard down sort of speak, not get ready for some disgruntled person. From the comments I see here, I'm sure many will disagree, they want "us to see the truth, we see cracks and the truth is in the cracks." I can show a whole other side of incredible miracles, stories, and how ward families have helped carry me through hard times. I feel sorry for those who only look for flaws in others, what a miserable life.

Do you have any kids? I assume not, because you seem to have a very low and very high opinion of 8 year olds at the same time. You seem to think they have the capacity to understand enough about the gospel to make an informed choice about baptism...
But that they are too young to be taught about David's adultery?
That is, they have the capability to analyze and understand, but we should be actively protecting them from some of the most important stories in the Bible?

I've never been to the moon.
So I haven't seen the Apollo debris with my own eyes.
I've never personally done the laser experiment off the triple mirror array left on the moon to confirm it's there.
I don't personally have the technical experience to review the Apollo video footage and confirm it's legit.
I don't personally understand all the engineering involved that would make the trip possible.
But the weight of the evidence that humans actually landed in the moon is sufficiently compelling that I can take the last logical step from "this probably happened" to "this did happen" on faith.
That is also my approach to spiritual faith. It is the bridge between "most compelling logical option" and "I believe this is true"
I just Looked up the definition on Google and the first one is
"The assent of the mind to the truth of a proposition or statement for which there is not complete evidence"
And the phrase "complete" is really important to me in that definition.

The most reprehensible part of this video is hearing parishioners scold him for sharing his testimony. In particular, the guy who doesn't want his kids exposed to questions which might not support his church's doctrine.
If your belief system is based on the truth, then it should encourage skepticism and even direct confrontation from individuals who may not agree with you or your beliefs.
To the person who shared their testimony, I applaud your courage and conviction. It takes a lot of guts to stand up in the face of certainty condemnation, not to mention the very real possibility of being shunned or excommunicated and express your thoughts, concerns and conclusions.

It was prophesied that his name would be had for good and bad all over the world and so it is. Each person is challenged to find out if that one book is true or not through sincere prayer. If you sincerely want to know,, it will be revealed to you by the power of the Holy Ghost. "We've got kids in there you can't say that." That's exactly where you SHOULD share it. Kids need to learn critical thinking, not blind faith. He says he's mad about him talking about plural wives. That's not why he's mad, he's mad because this guys coming in telling his kids unfiltered truth he can't control.
I will give him credit, he was more calm and collected about that than most cult parents would have been.

It's a real dick move to go with malice into a congregation of believers of ANY religion just with the intent to preach to them that their beliefs are false. This was disgusting behavior and the fact that you dont' see that tells me what kind of piece of garbage you must be to interact with. The fact that you delight in destroying beliefs of religious persons is vile. If putting down others brings you joy that tells me everything I need to know and I hope you repent and one day change your disgusting and evil mentality.

So it's not cool to teach kids the truth about the Church but it's ok for the Bishop to take children behind closed doors to ask them if they Materbait

@@poshmalosh14 I met with the bishop of my congregation a few times from age 12-18 for casual "How are you doing? Can I help you in any way?" type meetings. Very innocent and I felt comfortable with him. He never asked me questions about masturbating or anything like that. It's really really sad that some bishops ask those questions, but I'd say that the majority of people who grew up in the church did not have that experience. Just letting you know :)

My Bishop years and years ago asked me about masturbation alone in his closed door office. Heck I didn’t even know what he was talking about. He had to tell me what it was! LOL.
This was back in the good old days and the Bishop was always right! Masturbation was just super, duper awful, AWFUL!!! Tie your hands to the bed some GA said. A wise sage that he was! 😉

That’s why people always call socialists evil and try to shut them down before they have a chance to express their opinions. Rich people are desperate to make people believe “socialism is when the government does stuff” and hope people assume the government wouldn’t behave differently under the control of the working class. Lol

Welcome to the NWO. "He who does not know the truth is just a fool, but he who knows it, and calls it a lie is a criminal!" _ Bertolt Brecht. The criminals controlling this Brave New World are the foremost propagandists, and are very adept at banning/erasing/outlawing the truth. They only make laws/policy/regulation(s)/standard(s) based on lies.
