This is my first time watching your videos, and I LOVE this Gouache!! I was discouraged from doing anything artistic or creative as a kid, but I have always LOVED ART! Now in my 50's I am just now learning that I can do some of these things that I love to look at so much! Can't wait to take your Gouache class, it will be my first painting class & I'm sooo excited! ♡
This is excellent and so beautiful! I have always been intrigued by sketchbooks, especially such lovely ones. I need to give it a try ones, but I know I will need the right sketchbook as well.
Y'know, you're officially my favourite artist on UA-cam. I'm the type of person who's extra careful when i paint. If i make a mistake, i tend to panic. However, you have shown me that blunders can occur and i should worry less.
First time watcher. I just bought some gouache and wanted an idea. I saw your paintings and thought, that's it! I'm very happy with how it came out. Thank you!
Love your thumbnail. Oh my Gosh thanKyou for sharring a bit of your life with us. REALLY APPRECIATE IT as these are so personal. Love trees, nature, leaves my favourite thing. We are So very BLESSED we have eyes to see, ears to hear, fingers to type, mouth to talk and Greatful to God and the universe just discovered you. Talking about spreading leaves, you are just spreading your LOVE and to have that advert playing before your video is the cherry on the cake . Peace Girl. PEACE.
I will be making these and plan on gifting them as message cards to friends and family. I just bought a gouache paint set and I am a total beginner, so these simple tutorials are great inspiration thanks a lot :)
I'm a single mom in recovery, I'm 2 years sober, and happy! But it can be soooo hard! We're rebuilding our lives and healing, and your art videos brings me such peace and serenity. I love watching you paint! Thank you for helping me heal!
Thank you for explaining your process 😭😭😭 it so important for self learning beginners. As someone who likes watercolors, I'm constantly confused about how much water to mix with gouache and always end up with either TOO much water or too little water. So thanks for explaining that! Subscribed :) will try and sign up for your class once I feel a bit regular with my practice.
I've been painting with gouache for almost an year now, and I love the medium (even though it is a little tough to work with at first, considering how different it is from watercolor - which I'm more familiar with) and I loved your tutorial!
Thank you for this video, I’m trying to learn how to use guache properly and this is one of the most helpful videos I’ve found❤ Looking forward to have some free time and practice painting these beautiful landscapes 🥰
I do not know how to paint. Your tutorial inspired me a lot. I love these paintings and I relaxed only by watching your tutorial . Loved these, thank you😍🌱🦋🌺🐝
You are few of the gems in UA-cam, finding gems like you is difficult, this is really inspiring, I will try to do like yours cause it’s actually so beautiful and you have beautifully explained it
I think what I struggle with most is getting the consistency right. It does come out watercolor-y and i guess I’m just so afraid of using too much paint and wasting it lol. Also YOURE A LEFTY WOOOO!!!
Thank you for making this tutuorial! I used to be an award winning artist in school but stopped drawing totally for years. Now I'm finding my confidence back with art with videos like these!
This was a great tutorial! I'm a complete beginner so it's helpful to have simple ideas like these to start with. I've started using acrylic for black backgrounds, just so I don't have to deal with the extreme reactivation of black mixing in with everything.
Hi! I love your work and I’ll be adding your shared artwork as my inspiration in my art journal! I used gouache for about 2 months. I have to say that it is a medium that i wouldn’t take lightly because of how messy it can get once it gets reactivated as you add on layers. I was at the peak of cursing and regretting on buying it, but since i don’t like it getting wasted i used and used it until i eventually got the hang of it. Now i use gouache as a highlight or if i want to create a piece that’s kinda digital like. Gouache isn’t going to be a walk in the park, it would take a lot miles before you can get used to it and of course with proper guidance like this video!
I totally agree! After a while you learn to use the fact that it's water soluble to your advantage. There is acrylic gouache though as well and I recently bought a small set - I'm very excited to try it! Water soluble gouache is probably best used for pieces with lots of blending. I love painting clouds with it! :D
Awesome! 😊 I will launch an extended Gouache course next week. Consistency, mixing, blending, layering... all of that will be in there. Stay tuned if you're interested in that 😊
Awesome! I have a bunch of gouache tutorials and plan on doing more 😊 I also have a new in depth tutorial class on my shop if you're interested visualmindart.com/courses
@@VisualMind That's exciting! I'll definitely go check out your shop. I joined Skillshare just for your gouache paintings and loved it! You're such an inspiration
LOOOVE this! Just tried doing the one on the right and it turned out awesome!!! It is my first time using gouache. I had gotten a set as a gift a year a go, but was always too daunted by it to try it out. Your tutorial is perfect
I've been wanting to try gouache for a few years but for some reason it seemed like a complicated medium for me. However after watching this video, I did learn that like transparent mediums, layering the same color helps when you want to make a gradient. Thanks for this.
OMG this is so beautiful, I can't wait to get my gouche paint set!!! This is the first thing i will paint when i get the gouche paint thankyou for this!! (Sorry if my english is not that good hehe)
I am doing the right one and it's my first painting like, ever, so it's been an interesting experience hahaha I am using pretty cheap gouache but I hope it'll turn out okay, thank you for this 🥰

You're welcome! Does gouache work on top of acrylics for you? I haven't had much success with that 😅
@@VisualMind It looked okay the first day, but now it looks like the gouache is cracking on the paper 🙃 Maybe not a long-term solution after all :D
Loved gouache even more now!
