I love this song! And I actually prefer this version over Bing's. Do you know, was Jack Denny and His Orchestra based in Montreal? Was it a working orchestra or a studio band? Just curious, thank you so much!!! :^D 🎺
Hi - Recorded mostly in New York, but did cut some sides (like probably this one) in Montreal. Assume he was "working"; in Montreal cut sides for Victor under "Jack Denny and His Mount Royal Hotel Orchestra", and back in New York under "and His Waldorf-Astoria Orchestra". Remember that old song, "I'm a Dreamer, Montreal"? (Sorry - a Groucho line.)
Gorgeous arrangement of one of my favorites from 1931.
Love this rendition. There is also the Jack Denny Hotel Orchestra Royal Mounty of Canada. Thanks
Marvelous version: classy and clear
One of the greatest standards of all time, still a favorite among jazz musicians. Good version, if a little lightweight.

Nice anecdote, Louis!
