Could you do a video on the process of getting a business license from the FCC? I'm curious and there aren't much videos out on youtube that show the process. Keep up the great work and looking forward to seeing more on DMR radios!
I talked about it during the Buy Me a Coffee member live stream. If there is more interest, I may make one next year for the public. The easiest short cut is to find an LMR dealer in you're are and have them do it for you. This will cost you more than doing it yourself.

Do you have any plans to try and incorporate your mototrbo radios for use with the single frequency repeat. If this is possible i could see the use for a deployable xpr radio cache that could be used in conjunction with the 578 for SAR and EMS. Compared to the 878,

How would you compare this to your Yaesu 9800 cross bander from the manpack series? How different are they aside from DMR are they to you?
This is day #1. I'll update the community once I've had an opportunity to really test it. I'd hate to draw premature conclusions on the 578. Great question. Build quality alone...the Yaesu takes it. This is a very different tool, so it will be difficult to do a true apples-to-apples comparison.
Is that a modified pack or something commercialy available to purchase as is? I think I remember you talking about having a pack made just for such manpack projects
This was the original prototype that I produced. I only sold at 110 units of the little bag (for the FT-818) and 25 of the bigger bags (for the FT-857D/891). I ran into manufacturing issues as these were all hand made.

How long will that battery last? What other 50W DRM mobiles do you recommend?
I need to run some experiments. I did a battery sizing video last year where I described the approach to determining runtime based usage characteristics.

Do you use X band repeater?
Yes, on my other manpack (Yaesu FT-8900R). The 578 supports crossband repeat. This is one of the reasons that I selected it.
What bag are you using here?
It's a custom bag that designed last year and briefly sold. It was cold the TTP Manpack. There are 110 units in the wild. It was too hard to produce them by hand in the US, so I pulled the plug.
Does the 12ah Bioenno battery fit In there or is 9ah the max size?
The 12Ah square model is a tight fit. The 9Ah is the sweet spot if you don't run full power.

Dude why is it so hard to find info on this? I’ve been searching for videos or anything related to programming the 578 with AES256. Let me know if you find anything.

I made these but was only able to produce 110 units. This was the original prototype. If you take a look at my Manpack series, I show how I did it prior to this custom bag.
