@@florianneumann9441 in mortal kombat, when they rage quit they kill themselves by snapping their own neck, its called a quitality and you win the match.
@@burni988 hmm, imho it's just the influx of new tekken players that play the noob modes and jump online instantly thinking they are big fish... i mean i played like every tekken (whatever - i was a kid with no money glued to the arcade cabinets in italy watching others play 1+2 for hours - i still call it playing) and first played online with tekken evolution - when i was already used to get my ass beaten ^^ i don't know why at least the disconnection indicator could be implemented in a useful way... make it dissconnects in last 100 games and it's a 1000% better then now
A friend of mine proposed that instead of the penalties they're considering for future updates for quitters they get branded instead. Like instead of your profile reading "side swiper, respectful, overwhelming" or something you get a "S+ quitter" tag instead. And not only that will not go away that easily but quitting against players with that tag will have no penalty. Basically, give them public shaming.
Quitters have no shame, though. They throw themselves into a *competitive* setting and only seek the personal gain of their rank in every occasion. If that's not possible and they get their head smashed into the concrete, then they'll sabotage the opponent out of spite. For being better than them. If Quittalities isn't enough to keep players honest in MK, then the Tekken devs need to take the kid gloves off with pluggers. I personally think they should match people up by Disconnection rates. It's not enough punishment to simply inform the opponent of a player's disconnection rate. If you have like a 70% DC rate, you should only be matched up against opponents that are just as bad off. Once you get some honest matches under your belt and you're down to 63% DC rate, you should still only be matched up against scumbags that are at a 63% or more disconnection rate. The Tekken devs are likely trying to avoid a situation where they get review bombed(cause it sounds like the pluggers really are that petty), so maybe a match-up system like the one I described will keep them in the game and force them to embrace some good sportsmanship, even if it's more for their benefit than the opponent.
That branding won't do much if we can't see their profile before matching with them. It would be better if they put some sort of label like that during the matchmaking process where you can select to fight them or not. That saves more time.
Yeah I main feng and he is getting nerfed but people take online way to seriously, online play should be an environment to learn, and grow your gameplay for when you play people in person
@@amarjo351well tekken is a big game where the tier list changed depending on your skill level. Like DJ is a pretty comfortable top tier but in low and intermediate ranks he's fairly mid.
Eliminator to Garyu was an absolute pain for me. I had 3 people in a row quit out on me on the final match when I was on a promotional match. Only then to be put against someone who completly destroyed me I'm now in Garyu but the people quiting on the third match is really getting painful now.
Maybe you play disgustingly cheap with your character. I’m at Shinryu and nobody really quits on me. I don’t abuse cheap shit. I’m just saying not accusing you
Splatoon already perfected the system against rage quitters. The quitter gets ranked pts penalized and can't play for 5,10,20,30 minutes for quitting and the pts of the other players remain the same though if they quit near the end, the quitter's team get no losing pts except for the quitter itself and the winning team gets full victory pts
"My kid's crying, lemme go unplug the router real quick since that's the most important thing right at this time"............ Seriously. Kid's crying? Take the L.
My 4 cents. 1- Balance: Harada's team has never been interested in proper balance. They let people have their dumb fun with broken characters and wait for the pro players to define the meta. Only then they made a little few changes, just enough to stop the bigger complains, never more. Then they introduce a new broken DLC char, again... 2- Ranks: Many people play ranked to learn and improve. Ranked make possible to find the opponents with the skill level closer to yours, and gives you a reference to gauge your own growing against the global competitive population. Ranks and point aren't important themselves: they are just a practical tool. 2.5 Ranks & Pluggers: I don't hate pluggers because they take my ranks away. I hate them because plugging upsets a good learning system, carrying bad players up, wasting learning time for people who want to improve and making the whole rank classification less trustworthy. However, just taking their points is not that easy, because accurately pinpoint who disconnects without any doubt is not easy, and giving points to people who faced a plugger could also be used to boost levels. 3- Player1/Player2 "advantage": The classic problem comes when you are crouching, because you blocked something, or because you were forced to crouch somehow. Then you can swiftly "sidestep up" (up~neutral = ssLeft if you are Player1, ssRight if you are Player2), no problem. However, you can't easily "sidestep down". You need to release down fist, and only then you can sidestep. (up~neutral, down~neutral = ssRight if you are Player1, ssLeft if you are Player2) This is much slower and super awkward to do. This problem comes with the design that mixes in the same directional inputs movement in the vertical axis with movement in the horizontal plane. T4 had it solved, but the game had bad luck, huge balancing problems and was rejected by the mainstream players. Then for T5 Bamco decided to backtrack all the innovation, including the free movement design, just out of fear. This problem affect A LOT of characters and moves, and there isn't any reasonable way to fix it, unless they bring back the free movement from T4 (which I would love, but I don't think they will do it ever).
Cant you how good it feels to watch a vid and hear someone say everything you've been thinking. Not one lie was told in this vid. Keep preaching Mike. And FU*K the rage quitters
Nice video, just recently found your channel. I enjoy the conversations you have here and your point of view keep up the great work. Pluggers really do live a sad existence as well
Fair fair.. I'll admit. I've seen the spike in rage quitting from T7 to T8 and immediately labelled these people as Fortnite players 😂 it could very well be the veterans (which leaves me no hope).
You can only sidestep up out of crouch and sidestepping up translates to opposite directions depending on player 1 or 2 side: P1 sidstep up = SSL P2 sidestep up = SSR Since some moves have to be stepped or walked into a specific direction, you might not be able to step that way from a crouching position. That's the explanation for that. Good player's who know that and whose character has moves that force crouch can abuse that.
If theyre going to penalize pluggers, they need to fix the game. The online disconnects mid-match more times than you think, typically after lagging for a round. Hell, polaris error crashes the entire game somewhat often! I dont want to be seen as a plugger when I am not. I know for a fact it isnt just me either...
The rage quitting is hard to fix because it's hard to determine which side raged quit. Online games are peer 2 peer. so all namco's online service does is establish a connection between you and another person. They can determine that someone quit, but they can't determined who quit. The only way I could see to fix this is determining if someone intentionally quit the client. But let's say the console just crashed or someone's power went off, or the internet went down? Should they be penalized? This is a common problem with distributed systems
@@tempusername-l5d I think Namco acts as some sort of relay between player A and player B. It basically brokers the connection. I'm pretty sure all fighting games work similarly. VF used relay based code where you connected to different servers. But it's hit or miss because apparently you can't control what server you connect to.
@@hermankermit-warm1121 they can pull the data and maybe get a trend of frequent disconnectors. They can do this via datelining afterwards, but they can't do it real time. At least I don't think it can be done
@MrBranh0913 no I think you're correct about real time. But they can pull the data, the talk is they want to actually issue bans for pluggers but because that can infringe on actual laws they're having to check they won't get sued for banning. I don't play SF, but I've heard a little about some yellow card system they have leading to time bans. It was definitely piss poor to not have a system in place, Harrada and Co should live in reality and realise most people just want to abuse every possible way to falsely increase their rank - which is hilarious coz, fun fact, your rank don't mean shit and all you end up doing is getting to a level you're nowhere near good enough and get destroyed so regularly you quit the game coz for most of these dimwits they have literally zero fundamentals and understanding of 3D fighters. It is what it is, I'm just glad I only have to wade through scrubs with new characters I want to try out, it must be torture for people actually trying to get legit better.
From what I gathered by playing point distribution depends on a few factors: you and your opponent’s win streak, the difference in your rank, and stats (whether you’re slated to win or lose). Like, if you’re a higher rank or have higher stats than your opponent and lose you’ll lose a lot of points, and if you’re lower but win you win more points. If you end a streak it seems to give you a lot more points: one time I lost to a guy and that put him on a 10 game win streak but when we rematched, despite losing points, I was given a promotional chance. So I believe that plays some big part in it
Point about king - people say he's technical in very much a similar way that Bryan is, I.E it's technical at a high level, which is to say at a level most people won't play. That is because his grab mixup only really works if you can mask the inputs, so his wavedash (that is the hardest wave dash in the game) and buffering become critical to hiding his inputs. Not to mention that getting consistent giant swings, musclebusters, wizards etc. is definitely challenging (especially if you're going for a range 0 wizard). His optimal combo routes used to also be tough in Tekken 7, and even tougher in T6 and TTT2 where you had to do a true IWR grab to end combos. He is simpler than he has been before due to the UF 3+4 and the heat charge RKO nonsense, but there is still meat to king. A part of his technical reputation is also in misconception with his previous iterations as well, which I touched upon briefly. I wouldn't say King is near Mishima level or Nina difficulty, but he has tech that needs to be really practiced.
I would say try playing king against someone who can break throws. At that point the level of mind games and faking inputs is crazy, and his tools are simply not as good compared to the other top tiers. You are right though the changes they gave him in 8 streamlined the gameplay for king a lot before you start to get to a pretty high rank or play in tournament. I don't think at tournament level he is that far behind the Mishima's in difficulty simply because they can rely on things like flash punch to guarantee their win condition. where as with king you got to start doing shit like IWR Giant swing to mix peoples techs.
I think the whole heat system is ridiculous the fact that it's easy to access and the heat smash leaves you on + should be changed and made to be more like double-edge sword
out of 40+ potential wins today, more than 25 were plugged. i lost multiple streaks, i lost points, i lost the will to keep going. right now, there is absolutely no joy in playing tekken for me. and i won't even mention the people playing on weak computers forcing you into a slideshow.
The one and done is very annoying but I can also understand, if you get completely bodied why would you stay? I’ve beaten people who are clearly not the same level as me and when I 1 and done I don’t care as I understand why they leave

ill be the 1st to say it. tekken 8 needs DOA6 holds system. its the only feasible way to guard against the hyper-aggressiveness within. normal block? chip damage everywhere, heat? chip. low parry? the timings and its a low. this game is FUCCED!
Mike, the side step inconsistency is probably caused by the “while rising” state. This doesn’t happen in Virtual Fighter where side steps are very consistent. VF also doesn’t have that while rising state. Or it could be tracking issues, hitboxes, etc. no way to tell at this point.
Rage quitting is so obnoxious.. But as for "one and done"... Yeah if I'm getting wiped, I'm not playing a rematch. Why would I lose points on a fight I know I'm going to lose? Fuck that man
rematching and finding a way to deal with your opponents play style or character will help you out on the long run, how will you defeat a Tekken King Azucena if you can't beat a Garyu one also sometimes you just can't adapt in a single game, i find myself winning rematches more than i win initial encounters. you do you it is your right to not rematch but just saying
I used to struggle against king he's throws are really frustrating and I can't play when I'm angry so I would get beaten easily. But after alot of rematchs and learning he's patterns he's quite predictably and beatable however if i win the first set then I don't rematch anymore so I agree with both side's of the argument as long as knowone is being a bitch and rage quiting
If you chain loose then you have nothing to do in your current rank Stfu and get the L and demotion if you deserve it. That's what I keep saying. Character who carry people + how fast you rank up. Some people are not ment to get high rank so fast. They eat that wall at 50000 mile/h and start to cherry pick their rematch. Little PP mentality
I agree as much as I like the game. Shit hell of broken, unbalanced, and lots of other bs. Plugging is disgusting really ruin the game in a major way. Emergency patch needed. At less allow us to get the points and up promotion. Mike 💯 percent agree with you
No offense but I will always one and done you if you're playing Victor and you're spamming the bugged throw ranked or casual. This is because playing a character that's obviously currently bugged and not working as intended tells me you're not here to play Tekken. You're here to exploit a flaw in the program and have fun at my expense. I will remember your name and always dodge you in the loading screen. I will not try to adapt to a bugged move that will be patched in a month or 2.
I'm not even an online player and I follow your channel. I guess because your takes on the online scene give a decent perspective that I otherwise wouldn't care about in general lol.
I honestly feel that one thing that would help (granted a minor amount) with pluggers is not letting the opponent know when your about to be promoted. Like what business do they have with that info.
i play rank not so much to rank up but because I get more players equal to me to play against. For some reason in quick matches, it's all over the place for me with my opponents. since T1 I have played and still consider myself a scrub because I do not lab or take the time to take my learning further. win or lose the game is just too addicting to my hands and i am content whether i win or lose because the main focus for me is being able to play. it is frustrating when i lose but not as much as not playing lol and yeah, quitting when you are losing just makes no sense to me especially when not playing in rank!
This is what happens when your game is mainstream succesful, youre going to get tonnes of try hards from lower skill games like COD and Fifa who will do anything to win. Same thing happped back in 2009 with SF4, so many new players mashing DP in lag with Flowchart ken and ragequitting 😅
I believe the "legality" of banning players is a bit of a misdirect from Harada and Murray. They're never going to ban TEKKEN SHOP spenders merely for rage quitting matches. No shot.
It could be a misdirect but there are countries out there with extremely weird laws that actually do tie game companies hands. But we won’t know for sure sadly
@@vietnamsemonky4082 Well yeah, if someone is dropping a 50 spot on Tekken Coins every month and then arbitrarily gets banned, that's an easier legal claim for that particular user to raise.
You're not alone in the experience you've had. I remember when I was in Red Ranks, I caught in the same loop; win, promotion chance, plug, lose, and back again. Lose 11 win streak cos of plugging. Continuing sessions can be deflating, especially if you're enjoying the game whether you win or lose. I reached Mighty Ruler a few days ago and want to continue my rank journey, but I already know the plugging is going to get worse.
Man I just made it to red rank as well. I just hope I don't experience that haha. I've only experienced it like once or twice. For now haha. I only notice it happens in the higher elos. Out of the blue but would you like to play against each other sometimes?
Yeah, and it shows in his win percentages. It's not that Feng players are better than everyone else, the character is just busted. I hope he gets nerfed into the ground. I actually prefer fighting Victor over him.
@@theopulentone1650 His neutral is insanely good, especially ws1, which is the best neutral skip in the game in my opinion. In Tekken 7 season 1, the character had the same strenghts but he had low combo potential. And then, they gave him tools to do combo as good as the others. So he's basically good at everything now (and better than the others in 8 because of b1). I'm struggling to find a "honest character" to play. I tried Leo, Lili and Alisa but still... Everything seems pretty broken to me in this game.
I’ve been playing Tekken for a long time, but started taking seriously on ranked. Even when I lose I get frustrated but it doesn’t stop me from trying to improve. That said the matches where I have a huge advantage only to be plugged makes me want to rip my hair out of my head.
Lost a 14 game win streak in the first week of Tekken 8 to a plugger. And since I am in purple ranks I have been getting plugged on an absurd amount. Currently at battle ruler. And I hope this next Tekken update will either remove the pluggers from blue ranks or make them afraid to plug on me. They have been holding me back long enough. Some even plug after losing 2 rounds when they get perfected and dont even wait for the end of the third round. So many bitches in blue rank are undeserving of those ranks. And I feel you: I had stopped playing ranked for a week after I had a session of 5 pluggers one day and the next day the same guy pluggin on me twice in a row. It just felt absolutely pointless to play ranked.
10:38 I always assumed the reason was because when you're crouching, one of the ss options becomes equivalent to pressing down aka staying crouching. I never really saw it as a bug or issue but rather just a Tekken quirk because of how movement works in the game. But it would be cool if that could be changed.
@@desgyulabalogh3429 Ow awesome didn't know that. Damn I should've known based on the lines In his face. It really Is Its own art style. Retsu kaioh Is pretty goated....Except for that pickle fight that was kinda embarrassing ngl
Azucena is the kryptonite against anyone who uses a lot of high attacks. her fastest punish is a high that can’t be punished and she ducks while she does it. she also has low grab and a two part launcher which I hate so much.
When a move forces crouch it makes it "impossible" (you technically can but you have to do a crouch cancel) to sidestep into the camera as crouch and sidestep are the same button so i treats it like youre still crouching so it depends on the character and what side your on not p1 or p2 you play against if it will affect you.
Dang, I feel lucky in comparison to your situation. I climbed from 2nd Dan to Shinryu in a couple of 2 hour sessions and only had one person plug on me. I do personally consider it a win if someone rages on me so I do think we should get the points but yeah, I care more about improving than I do ranking up fast
Bare in mind, I'm in Fujin, and came across a tekken king feng, it was already suspect because he didn't seem that good, and he literally plugged on my promo, safe to say he's not meant to be in those ranks.
Honey moon phase is ending and finally seeing critiques of Tekken. This is good. Don't like seeing people glorifying companies like they were their friends.
100% agree on getting rewarded with a W against pluggers. I almost hit Red but ultimately got knocked down to Destroyer bc I got plugged on my promo match then proceeded to hit a losing streak smh
Reina is super hard at high level. Take a look how many Reinas are God of Destruction. You scrubs are just talking strings and bs you can't use against decent players.
fight night champion had a system where everyone starts off with a 0 on their profile and the more you quit the higher it goes and they start matching you with people that have similar quit percentage LOOOL and if you behave long enough it will slowly go down..........the point is everyone can see it before fighting them and in turn makes it harder for them to get matches
I do believe that if you get a 3 win streak on a rank that is -1, equal, or +1 that is when you get the boosted points. Fujin and above will do the same with 3 losses in a row of a rank that is -1, equal, or +1. However, I haven't found any definitive text on this.
As a person who don't really like playing online, let alone ranked and as someone who like to collect trophies, this would put me off from online even more than what I already feel about playing online. I think they need to update it and fix the ranked mode and make it less detrimental for people who win the match because their opponents decides to quite.
I dont think I'll ever understand the entitlement of thinking someone has to play a set with you, even if they have no interest in doing so. Some characters are just not fun to play against. Ill finish the match but if your character/ playstyle is annoying im not rematching you, regardless if i won or loss.
There's some kind of loss penalty in the game, idk how it works exactly but that's where those big point losses come from. They should have somewhere in the game where it explains exactly how the bonus points and loss penalty points are distributed. The win bonuses and loss penalties I think are only taken into account for matches where there's only 1 rank difference. But again I'm not entirely sure lol cause it's not explained.
Man you reminded me of those days when I used play Usf4 with my Brother and uncle I tended to play ranked and ACTUALLY learned how to play but everytime I fought them and they started losing very bad they’d quit mid match in person and I’m just sitting there like well what was the point in playing 😭😭😭😭
I'm not super concerned about my rank, and I exclusively play ranked in this game (haven't even touched the story or stepped into a player match) for one simple reason: playing opponents more or less at my skill level. Of course ranking up feels nice, but at the same time that means I got either lucky fighting a few weaker opponents in a row and am about to get bodied, or I actually improved and can fight better players. Highest I got is only Tenryu, and maybe I'm extremely lucky or people aren't as tryhard at these lower ranks, but in my 60 hours of playtimes I was plugged on three times in ~200 matches.
Finally!!! Someone that understands what I'm going thru😭 I'm a Reina main myself and Its always King, Dragonuv, Feng, Devil Jin, Jun and also Victor that ppl ONLY play just because they're simply"broken" smh. Like literally is there no more other characters in the game? Why not use a character that ur personally comfortable with? And lab with them see what u can cook up. But I TOTALLY agree with u this game NEEDS to be balanced and I mean asap
I’ve been maining Heihachi since tekken and king since tekken 3, worked out his chain throw combo before you could just go online and have it shown to you I love both of them, but not because of just picking an easy character to use or some class as broken, had a little dabble with Jin and Paul over the years but king is my boy not everyone picks a character for the higher chance of an easy win I would pick and learn Devil Jin or Dragonuv if that was the case.
I hoped on ranked today after a weeks rest, I’ve had 15 matches plugged back to back and it’s annoying, like I want to rank up but I’m just stuck cause of this issue
Yeah I had a 20 win streak in ranked and got rage quitted on and lost my win streak. Then if I lose to a higher rank, then I lose a ton of points, yet if I defeat the same higher rank, I don’t gain as many points as I would have lost. I don’t understand the point distribution either and I recently had 3 rage quits in a row which took a few promotions away from me.
Worst thing is having a bad streak, then when you're finally about to catch a break, it's against a rage quitter. Whats bad is, you cant avoid them because there's no indication that this dude DCs cuz it's broken.
i come back to this fucking vidoe every time i make someone rage quit initially i always burst out laughing when it happens but then i realize im not getting credit for it. and that pisses me off man
In addition to getting your points for your opponent quiting, i think a feature along the lines of "committed to the set" would be cool. What it would do is reward "commited" players with more points on wins and maybe even bonus points for winning the set. "Commited" players are LOCKED into full ranked sets (currently ft2). To make up for the bonus win/set win points, players who commit but still leave the set would lose all win points and additional points for being unable to finish the set. This would be a ranked matchmaking setting that you opt in for. Regardless of my own personal opinion, I think players should be allowed to play the game howeever they choose to as long as its an intended part of the game, and unfortunately the 2 easiest things to do in tkn ranked rn is to quit and or one and done. If they arent going to punish these players, they should atleast reward players for putting up with them 👍🏽 I think this is sound solution but i havent put much thought into yet. Players who dont opt in wouldnt be at disadvantage because they can cherry pick wins and avoid players they think would beat them
Rage Quitting in T7 is less of an issue because you can see their leave percentage. If someone has a long win streak but has a huge leave percentage, then with that information you can easily tell yourself to close your game and dodge his obviously plugging ass. Not sure why that isn't in here.
Tekken newbie here, as i’m still learning the basics in the low ranks (Eliminator) I might not have entered plug city just yet. Can anyone point out when this shitty behavior becomes common? For now I’m having a pretty positive experience online
The problem with the one and done is that Tekken is a knowledge check game where certain characters are really strong in a one-off, especially if you're not too into the match up. I think Bo3 should be enforced as the only available ranked format and that if you plug you lose both matches. When they say that they will be banning people, I honestly don't believe them and I find it an idiotic solution which will reduce the amount of players.
I'm not sure about anyone elses experience but the only people that have plugged on me are Dragunov and King mains... it's always those two characters...
The current system is inexcusable, but 7 was absolutely worse. Even at the end state of the game, in emperor ranks, you would still get players who would just reload their rank (on pc). It was so absurd as you would demote them, and then a game or two later match with them and they're right back at their originial rank.
I can only talk about the red ranks, especially garyu, but I think it might apply to higher, each rank seems to have it's own points distribution, for example let's take eliminator and garyu, if you win against a tenryu as a garyu, you get usually 480 points, but if you win against a tenryu as an eliminator, you only win 380, it seems like there's a cap of points on each rank, you could be a warrior, and win against a tekken god, but you will still get less than 300 points, as for the losses, it seems like the loss is about the same as a win against the same rank for at least the same color, 400 for red if your a red, but you lose only 200 if it's the color below you, so 200, but I wanna say, take this with a grain of salt because it's not consistent, it's just the most frequent, cause sometimes you can win twice as much or lose twice as much, and it's honestly quite random, I had a match of a set against a shinryu, while I was garyu, where I won the first match of the set about over 800 points, instead of the usual 440, and I'm pretty sure I was in no win streak, and probably him neither, I can't say how much he lost, but the second match of the set he won it, and I lost 400, then I won the last match of the set and got 440, I only got the double points twice, and the double loss once on demotion, if I recall right, also ranking is much harder do to a weird unbalance of win loss point distribution, especially on same rank (I've been talking about garyu because I'm stuck there for a long time do to this weird point distribution and plugging, and lost all my promotion matches to shynryu) garyu vs garyu has +300 on win and -400 on loss most of the time, but sometimes it's also frequent to have +400 or -400, then garyu vs shynryu is only +440 on win and -400 on lose, tenryu is +480 and -400, I tested the win streak theory, but saw no changes, at least not to a 6 or 7 streak, so if it's true, you need to be flawless at least to the 4th or 5th set. I hope this helps, but reminder, this is not consistent, just the most frequent, it seems like there's some luck rng involved, plus a points cap, like 95% it behaves like I said before, give or take 50 or a 100 points, and 5% you might be lucky or unlucky to win or lose double points, the only thing consistent is promotion, you always get about a third of the points you need to promote in a promotion.
A good idea would be no one knows if the match is a promotion match. Since the dawn of online play, quitters have ALWAYS been an issue. If you give the person who does not quit the win, tmit will become something abuseable. Taking away your streak is wrong unless you lose. One and done is no big deal. There are some matches I can't stand playing. They get their one match, and I move on. I definitely feel you on the rage quits. There is just not an effective way to fix it. I think you rage out and you cannot play ranked for x amount of time depending on how many times you have done it.
Well Mike there's alot of people at the top of the ranks that don't deserve to be there, it's not just pluggers. However it's too much for Namco to deal with so they just focus on the easiest catch, pluggers. Nobody really EARNED their way to the top, I'll never believe that.
The amount of rage quits I see in Tekken really does remind me of Mortal Kombat. The vast majority of rage quitters that I’ve dealt with over the past 12 years have been from NRS titles. So I wouldn’t really be surprised if a good portion of the plugging is coming from casual MK players who dropped MK1.
Funny video title😆. I lost my promotion chance to Tenryu after a Shinryu player plugged on me. immediatly right after that i fought 3 mighty rulers that knocked my ass back down to Garyu. it sucks when honest ones demote you but the frauds keep you from ranking up too. 3:16-wow that would've made me livid, that guy was spiteful as shit.
Best thing about tekken community is bamco is not hearing the end of it unless this is resolved. They will have to fix both pluggers and cheaters sooner than later. But king isnt really a problem once you are garyu or higher I feel. Once people start breaking throws/sidestepping his point n run and ducking his 1,2 or 2,1 strings.
On another note ranked is a joke, I literally went on a 14 game win streak as a Tenryu or whatever and not one promo chance I lost one match and it dropped all the way in front of the line for a demotion I have given up on ranked until that gets patched it’s terrible
more and more ppl will start plugging if this doesnt get fixed soon. because at some point people either stop playing completly or do plugg too. result will be: empty ladder with nobody losing.. ever -> noboy will climb anymore. Then what?!
quick play also needs infinite rematches and as someone thats getting good at tekken for the first time i want best to 5 instead of best to 3 in ranked because id like to have more time and experience against a character and learn the matchup cause i dont feel like best to 3 is enough time to learn an opponent cause one time i matched up against hwaorang and i dont have much experience against that character so i lost the set but i started to understand what my opponent was doing game 3 but still lost the set but very next game i get matchmade with the same hwaorang so i was able to apply my understanding of my opponent i had last set in this one and he only took 2 rounds away from me during the set and thats been happening alot for me where i learn the opponent at the end of the set but i cant apply my knowledge my download because its only a best to 3
People rage quit in MK1 all the time but no one really cares cause you get the quitality and the points... its such an easy fix.
What’s a quitality? Sounds fun
@@florianneumann9441 in mortal kombat, when they rage quit they kill themselves by snapping their own neck, its called a quitality and you win the match.
@@NarcoticDimensionand it’s funny asf
Not an MK player but as an outsider hearing all the drama with the franchise, that sounds like the one thing MK got right.
But that won't really do anything, just being shamed won't make them NOT ragequit.
That branding won't do much if we can't see their profile before matching with them. It would be better if they put some sort of label like that during the matchmaking process where you can select to fight them or not. That saves more time.

This is easier in team games because I believe everyone joins a lobby. So it's easier to see who left the lobby.

Pluggers really do live a sad existence as well
The fact that Dragunov gets a combo after doing a freakin wall throw is goddamn ridiculous. Not even King can do that.
I love how he blames everybody but his own people lol. "It's all the new people from other games rage quitting."😂
Fair fair.. I'll admit. I've seen the spike in rage quitting from T7 to T8 and immediately labelled these people as Fortnite players 😂 it could very well be the veterans (which leaves me no hope).
Mike Hollow this is gonna be your year dude all your content has been on point. I learned a lot here.
Thank you, man. That's very kind of you 🙏🏾
You can only sidestep up out of crouch and sidestepping up translates to opposite directions depending on player 1 or 2 side:
P1 sidstep up = SSL
P2 sidestep up = SSR
Since some moves have to be stepped or walked into a specific direction, you might not be able to step that way from a crouching position.
Funny, Namco say they have a list of players, they very much do know.
@richardsejour7731 most if not all fighting games are peer to peer
The worst part is that it doesn’t stop at ranked. They’ll plug player and quick matches as well. Like what’s the point?

I honestly feel that one thing that would help (granted a minor amount) with pluggers is not letting the opponent know when your about to be promoted. Like what business do they have with that info.
That’s exactly what I said as well, like why is that even a thing. If they removed it, then people wouldn’t plug out of spite just to be a d!khead.
i play rank not so much to rank up but because I get more players equal to me to play against.

Feng is definitely overwhelming. His b1 alone is gold in a game where all the quick ch launcher disappeared.
Sheet, that's just more content for me lol
10:38 I always assumed the reason was because when you're crouching, one of the ss options becomes equivalent to pressing down aka staying crouching.
I never really saw it as a bug or issue but rather just a Tekken quirk because of how movement works in the game. But it would be cool if that could be changed.

9:44 I thought it was just me with the right sidestep issue when on Player 1 side
I think they need to update it and fix the ranked mode and make it less detrimental for people who win the match because their opponents decides to quite.
it looks like (from what ive seen) that you get extra points for a win streak but you also lose extra when you lose the streak
Sadly people are exploiting these characters on rank
I started playing in Tekken 7 so I assumed attacks from the P1 side or P2 side being different was part of the game.
But I TOTALLY agree with u this game NEEDS to be balanced and I mean asap

Reina is also in that list of characters...
Bro Reina is also a scrubs favourite pick, come on, she's in super low rank matches all the time.
Facts the point systems and ranking up in this game is so broken
now for pluggers, i feel like the pluggers ghost should take over.
that yujiro hanma customization is fire
Worst thing is having a bad streak, then when you're finally about to catch a break, it's against a rage quitter. Whats bad is, you cant avoid them because there's no indication that this dude DCs cuz it's broken.
i come back to this fucking vidoe every time i make someone rage quit
initially i always burst out laughing when it happens
but then i realize im not getting credit for it. and that pisses me off man
In addition to getting your points for your opponent quiting, i think a feature along the lines of "committed to the set" would be cool. If they arent going to punish these players, they should atleast reward players for putting up with them 👍🏽
I think this is sound solution but i havent put much thought into yet. Players who dont opt in wouldnt be at disadvantage because they can cherry pick wins and avoid players they think would beat them
Issue is rage quitting was an issue on t7 too. So why did this game launch without a punishment system or something?
Rage Quitting in T7 is less of an issue because you can see their leave percentage. If someone has a long win streak but has a huge leave percentage, then with that information you can easily tell yourself to close your game and dodge his obviously plugging ass. Not sure why that isn't in here.
@@fieclaussell9879 Good point, also Cold Steel fucking rules
Idk how you got so unlucky tbh with rage quitters. I'm glad I didn't have to deal with this during my climb.
The reason point distribution is hard to deal with like that is due to things like KI cause in that game you could get to #1in ranked by just pluging
The best system is to just penalize the person that leaves while gaining no points if you stay, that way it can prevent booster's.
I'm not sure about anyone elses experience but the only people that have plugged on me are Dragunov and King mains... it's always those two characters...
I haven't encountered a wifi plugger/quitter in my area (Oceania)
A certain amount of disconnections should result in an instant demotion
The current system is inexcusable, but 7 was absolutely worse. Even at the end state of the game, in emperor ranks, you would still get players who would just reload their rank (on pc). It was so absurd as you would demote them, and then a game or two later match with them and they're right back at their originial rank.
Zafina doesnt need buffs, shes simply not a popular character. Never has been. Shes not a Bad Character at all
I can only talk about the red ranks, especially garyu, but I think it might apply to higher, each rank seems to have it's own points distribution, for example let's take eliminator and garyu, if you win against a tenryu as a garyu, you get usually 480 points, but if you win against a tenryu as an eliminator, you only win 380, it seems like there's a cap of points on each rank, you could be a warrior, and win against a tekken god, but you will still get less than 300 points, as for the losses, it seems like the loss is about the same as a win against the same rank for at least the same color, 400 for red if your a red, but you lose only 200 if it's the color below you, so 200, but I wanna say, take this with a grain of salt because it's not consistent, it's just the most frequent, cause sometimes you can win twice as much or lose twice as much, and it's honestly quite random, I had a match of a set against a shinryu, while I was garyu, where I won the first match of the set about over 800 points, instead of the usual 440, and I'm pretty sure I was in no win streak, and probably him neither, I can't say how much he lost, but the second match of the set he won it, and I lost 400, then I won the last match of the set and got 440, I only got the double points twice, and the double loss once on demotion, if I recall right, also ranking is much harder do to a weird unbalance of win loss point distribution, especially on same rank (I've been talking about garyu because I'm stuck there for a long time do to this weird point distribution and plugging, and lost all my promotion matches to shynryu) garyu vs garyu has +300 on win and -400 on loss most of the time, but sometimes it's also frequent to have +400 or -400, then garyu vs shynryu is only +440 on win and -400 on lose, tenryu is +480 and -400, I tested the win streak theory, but saw no changes, at least not to a 6 or 7 streak, so if it's true, you need to be flawless at least to the 4th or 5th set.
When they say king is technical they mean he is technical at high level cuz many people know how to break throw so you have to get creative
I plugged twice already and after learning that you lose points i will never plug again its just a game and i shouldn't take it so personal
Then what?!
Pluggers are driving me insane - I caught one red handed in my ranked stream today when he realised he was cooked.
Mk1 had rage quitter issue few months ago same situation.
Anyone who rage quits in a ranked mode should get penalised. Points have to be awarded to the person who doesn't quit the games.
I’ve never plugged and I never will. It’s embarrassing tbh, and it really ruins the fun for everyone else
quick play also needs infinite rematches and as someone thats getting good at tekken for the first time i want best to 5 instead of best to 3 in ranked because id like to have more time and experience against a character and learn the matchup cause i dont feel like best to 3 is enough time to learn an opponent cause one time i matched up against hwaorang and i dont have much experience against that character so i lost the set but i started to understand what my opponent was doing game 3 but still lost the set but very next game i get matchmade with the same hwaorang so i was able to apply my understanding of my opponent i had last set in this one and he only took 2 rounds away from me during the set and thats been happening alot for me where i learn the opponent at the end of the set but i cant apply my knowledge my download because its only a best to 3
