Honestly, I would love it if you did an entire video on retinols, or on other skincare tips and recommendations that you learned when you worked at the dermatologist. With skincare becoming so huge on tik tok I worry that they (and myself) might not be always using it right or explaining it well enough and you gave the most thorough in depth explanation of retinols that I have seen in a while. I love hearing the science behind it and the reason that these “miracle” skincare products work

WOA! Tret is NOT a generic of retinol! Tretinoin is the strongest form of a Vitamin A derivative - retin-a. It’s RX only - and can cause way more irritation than retinol if used incorrectly. I use retinol for years and recently switched to tret. My skin is the best it’s ever been and I’m 30. This isn’t the first time I’ve heard incorrect skin care knowledge from Laura! Abbey Yung or Cassandra Bankson got all the info on skin. Laura is here for everything else 💋
Your videos always make me so happy!! You’re just so entertaining. Tretinoin is NOT the same thing as retinol though. They are both vitamin A derivatives, but tretinoin you can only get with a prescription. It is all-trans-retinoic acid. Retinoic acid is what your skin eventually converts retinol into, so retinol is much weaker than tretinoin or any retinoic acid product, because retinol is not readily usable by the skin. Another thing to note is that retinol is not considered an active ingredient so it isn’t regulated as a drug like tretinoin is. This means that the formulas from different brands vary A LOT. So some formulas may be wayyy more effective than others. I hope this helps someone in the comments!!

That Kenya spray is my FAVORITE texture spray. I have fine hair. When I curl it I spray it in afterwards and it just brings the whole look together. It smells SO GOOD too. Can’t live without it.
Those brushes are a MUST HAVE for your young daughters too. From when they're like 3 & older. Especially if they're in cheer, ballet, dance, etc., because it gives the tightest, most sleek ponytails and buns on earth! If you're using the tiny plastic elastics, also order the elastic cutters so you stop ripping your babes hairs out. I keep one in our tub, her brush kit in her room and in our downstairs kit. Lifesavers.

The Walgreens brand ones are a great alternative to the Revlon. They are just as good and just as sturdy. They have a metal version & a plastic version (metals the best), they’re just like Revlon, cheaper and you get 3 razors instead of 2. Thank me later!! ❤😊

I just bought a new fragrance from Malin + Goetz called Dark Rum and oh my GOD, is it amazing. Notes are plum and bergamont, rum, leather & patchouli. I normally only like white florals but I am obsessed with this. It's sweet like the perfumes I normally go for but it has an amazing depth to it.
Another retinol tip.. If your sensitive and instead of using it less days a week and leaving it on overnight what you do is put the retinol on for say like 10 minutes or so and then wash it off instead of leaving it on. It helps your skin gradually get used to it!

I get Tretinoin from the pharmacy for a few dollars. My dermatologist prescribes it every year at my annual checkup, and I recommend a yearly checkup for anyone who can afford it because my bestie got skin cancer in her 20s. A tube of it almost lasts a whole year for me. Granted, I only use it every other night because my skin is very sensitive but also oily. I use the 0.25 dosage. Tretinoin is my #2 skincare necessity besides daily sunscreen!

Yes!!! I have been struggling to find a good facial sunscreen because they make my eyes watery or sometimes burn even when I take the time to make sure I avoid the eye area. I also can't seem to find a sunscreen that doesn't pill on my skin. A friend recommended the Elta MD sunscreen but I don't know if I can squeeze that into my budget. It would be interesting to see a sunscreen video of sunscreens you love and ones you hate. ☀️☀️☀️

I have PCOS, and I have a hairy face that I shave daily (I just wish my hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows also grew). I use a razor with replaceable blades that I change out every month. I usually avoid damage that way, but I might try changing them twice a month to see if there isn't so much razor burns or nicks. I appreciate you sharing that you do shave your face, it helps to normalize being hairy.

I switched to the native deodorant and I got the most intense rash ever under my armpit…. I didn’t think it was the deodorant but then I googled and saw how many other people were complaining about rashes!
Kenra is my fav hair products. Obsessed with the bristle brushes are awesome for dry shampoo and sleek looks. I make my own body oil mix it with essential oils and some water in a spray bottle. Shake it before use. Theyre clean and so much easier than lotion. my skin is so sensitive but I can add vitamin e or whatever to the mix and it doesnt make me rashy. Thank you for sharing. Love ya.
