Thank you! This was the fourth video I watched & by far the best. I could see the pieces (your hands didn't block everything) and I understood what you were saying (some videos had no voiceovers or audio).
Nyree Austin ask your post man to open it and leave it open you then can replace lock. When doing so he or she will not be able to leave any mail until you replaced lock so mail will be secure.
Can anybody explain to me how clockwise/counter-clockwise is determined with those locks? I need to purchase a new lock. Is it from unlocked to locked state or vice versa? Because technically all 90° locks operate both, clockwise AND counter-clockwise. It just depends at what you're looking at (locking or unlocking). The mailbox locks in this video lock by turning counter-clockwise... so, I presume that's the answer? Anybody able to confirm?
Our new CBU Florence Mfg. mailboxe is not very sturdy. It rattles and has, IMO, a number of manufacturing defects. The best part is the doors which are very well made, and the pedestal. The rest of the box is flimsy. We just bought one and it had a paint defect, and one side was not correctly fixed to the base. Also the top rail deflected and caused the left bank of doors to bind upon closing. Florence couldn't even manage to put their sticker on straight. Shoddy work and very annoying, especially for a $1,400 unit. I'd personally look for another brand next time around.
a b I showed your comment to Ken W., Clark Devon's owner, and here was his reply: I would ask the person where they bought the box. Florence has salespeople all over the country, and I'm sure they would be happy to send some one out to take a look. This is the first complaint like this I have ever heard in all the years we have sold Florence product. If the person wants to send me some pictures, and their address and phone number, I would be willing to look in to it, even though I'm almost positive that we did not sell it.
I didn't say it was from this agent of Florence. It's about the actual product. It was supplied by and shipped from Florence. The agent is just the middle man, who I don't need to mention. And it is everything I said is was. Just want to make sure people know that someone got one that was not too good.

@@clarkdevonhardware Too bad most places don't have a neighborhood hardware store anymore.
