I have the same sentiments with the “haha reacts” on supposedly serious or disgusting posts. Like I’ve seen a lot of my friends sharing the mariel’s post and speaking up abt it, but then they proceed to make jokes after because “bobo” nga raw ang post ni mariel. Like sure they’re right, but it somewhat icks me that they still make a joke about it coz the joke becomes more trending than the calling out itself
If humor is inevitable, it should be integrated into the message without overshadowing its significance, drawing attention to the issue without diminishing the criticism.
Filipinos by nature use humuor to cope, i have a lot of international friends pero tayo talaga ang mas matalino sa paggawa ng mga joke kahit racist, sexist, o serious pa yan. But a majority of these jokes are not meant to be taken seriously, I know that, my male friends know that, and even people tolerate it when they realize we arent actually racist/sexist/serious. Kung tatanungin niyo ako sa mga topic na yan, siguradong mag didisagree ako, pero tuwing nagbibiruan mala-hitler ako magbiro. Thats just how filipinos roll, understanding theres a huge disconnect between entertainemnt and reality is important specially in dealing with sarcasm and satire jokes and most of the time di naman naka direct attack yung mga pagbibiro namen most of the time its just making jokes around contreversial topics, we dont say offensive shit to people who people who is the target of offending.
@@konvex69 An interesting series of personal examples you've set to the table. However, I must ask the following: Has this still been occurring despite your growth or awareness of the severity of the situation? Were there instances when you have become devoid of knowing more about the heavy topic at hand due to its prevalent humor? Will you continually say, in the far future, the same line of “That’s how Filipinos roll,” in spite of how it plagues the minds of the masses, especially the youth, to this day? I apologize if those were a lot of questions to take in. Frankly, this topic was brought to my attention from my friend’s paper (thesis). Their thesis was basically asking the following: “Where do we draw the line between gossip when GenZs are equipped with unlimited information and data research? Can we be justified in pursuing (fact-less) gossip for the sake of fun despite being digital natives?” The problem here is media literacy. If we train the young minds to accept these types of humor without the presence of facts in earnest, they become hedonistic, oblivious, and ignorant citizens with little regard for social issues-especially in a developing country so rich with it, yet so poor with stability. Though knowledgeable, it’s hidden in the curtains of coping, as you’ve said. But how far can that go? Rather than curtains of coping, that becomes a curtain of detachment-a phenomenon tainting our nationalism in this day.
As mentioned by the other commentators in this reply list, they have emphasized a great line regarding the importance of cognizant-humor-a humor that impacts, pulls attention to a topic, and does not alter its significance and value to induce an ignorant mass. I acknowledge that striving for this type of humor in the main algorithms of people gets less traction than extreme ones get. But if more of the extreme envelopes the minds of many, no information is being given out. Instead, the masses are not actively pursuing thought or discussion regarding these topics that need sincerity.
I am not incriminating your points-not at all. I just wanted to add it here for more people to see the two sides of a coin; heck, maybe more than just a coin. Kidding aside, I can agree with you, though; humor is a great, effective tool for absolute engagement; we want to disassociate ourselves for a while to cope with our preexisting stressors. Filipinos are vultures when it comes to humor because we live in a harsh world and we want a way out. However, like a vulture, we want to feel bigger. There will be other vultures coming for the meat, so why don’t you take the first bite and let the rest follow? They will not stop lurking around until their prey are vulnerable. The negative side to all of this would be the ethics-and I think it’s still a progressing period for Filipinos to balance entertainment and reality. As you’ve said: “That[’]s just how [F]ilipinos roll [.] [U]nderstanding there[‘]s a huge disconnect between [entertainment] and reality is important[, e]specially in dealing with sarcasm and satire jokes most of the time[.]” I agree. There should be a divide. However, in a digital age when these two are now being merged together into one existent body (in news, politics, and social interaction), and more people, other than you and me, fall under this deep trap, what then? Can it still hide under the guise of “Entertainment”?
@@shiki3840 We need to seperate the idea of behavior and action. My morals and values have never shaken despite how contrary it is to my humor. Does humor somewhat influence me? Yes but often not for the worse since humor usually initiates the conversation but it is ultimately up to the person if the humor has any valuable ideas or a strong basis. I can agree that this "cultural" take on humor can have negative effects specially on the impressionable minds of young people if they misunderstand said humor. However id say there are several problems that has a worse impact on the issue such as the wide spread tribalism specially in the Philippines. Though this is not necessarily a "justification" but since media literacy is the main problem, its an external problem which can be fixed seperate from my point. The rising media illiteracy is the cause of humor being taken too seriously NOT the other way around. "Were there instances when you have become devoid of knowing more about the heavy topic at hand due to its prevalent humor?" No. Though its the harsh truth, the reason people pay attention to the jokes and not the issue is because they find the issue to be "boring". Trust me if there was no "jokes" people will still ignore the heavy topic at hand specially if they also ignored it even with the inclusion of jokes. If anything the publicity gained by the jokes can be more helpful than you think. AGAIN if i ignored the issue because of a joke, then there is no reason to believe I would acknowledge it even if there was no joke. Dont treat everyone as stupid, people can read the room when the topic is serious. When the internet came to be, no one was prepared, no one predicted that one day we would be able to have a conversation across the world. We didnt get time to adapt and now our problems are catching up to us. It was only a matter of time before the cracks of the digital world would start to show and flood our lives. Thanks for being respectful and i understand where you are coming from. I just personally think that you are misdiagnosing the main cause of the problem.

If the authorities can interviene and just seperate the two would be the best solution, that is by taking neutral stance since the narrative could go other way around.
yeah and at the same time some women used that excuse of rape to get what she wants, specially in our country, kung mauna kang mag rekalamo mas panalo ka,... i know someone got accused of raped, like wtf raped in their own home with the womans parents, logically speaking how the heck can it be raped kung andun ung magulang sa bahay it was consensual but the woman wants to break up, and have her new bf get out of attempted murder charge to the guy,... her new hidden bf literally machete the husband skull
the way people are reacting to yulo's success is so fucking weird and invasive 😭 i've noticed how in the filipino culture/ asian culture there's often a strong emphasis on respecting and honoring parents, sometimes to the point where people overlook abusive and harmful behavior from them. this is such a toxic behavior especially if someone was brave enough to walk away from that environment. they shouldn't be made to be a bad person because they chose to no longer have their parents in their lives.
additionally, i hate the need for a "witch" in situations like these. people are hating on his gf and blaming her for creating the rift between him and his mom. yulo is old enough to make his own decisions. blaming it on his gf is kinda infantilizing him.
Filipino in social media loves to judge blindly when it comes to a person that stops being close to It's family. they only see abuse when they see scars and bruises, ignoring theres also emotional abuse that can be more harmful to a person in a long run, I HATE IT! just because someone wants to stay away to their family they are judged as a bad person right away, and doesn't even look why that person wants to be away. even I'm from a good famliy I really understand this people that wants to leave their toxic family.
Me and my mom have an ongoing disagreement about this, so we would rather not talk about it, she would side with Angelica Yulo and I would of course the side of Carlos, she would always say that as a child you should respect your parents and not bring shame to them and I told her that as a parent you shouldn't shame your kid and tell it to everyone. It's a toxic Filipino thinking of "Magulang mo yan ikaw mag pa kumbaba"
Gosh, I hate how Carlos Yulo is being infantilized, but honestly, this is very in character for the Filipinos. I can't imagine being Carlos shoes right now and I hate how everyone keeps defending his mom honestly, he should be furious with how he is being treated - HE IS A GROWN MAN and we can clearly tell that he loves his girlfriend so why are people treating him like a dumb child who doesn't know anything in life, the fact that people are calling his girlfriend a manipulator for simply just being by his side just reeks misogyny, people are already speculating that he is "controlled by his girlfriend" as if the possibility of him simply wanting to protect her from the hate is so alien. Why is no one pointing out how the mother is giving Tiktok boy mom energy? and the fuckin "you only have one mom you could replace her with other women your mom likes" is so degrading for both Yulo and his girlfriend, he shouldn't have to bow down to his mother's wishes and it frames Chloe as nothing but an object that can be replaced easily.
This toxic mindset of just glorifying motherhood in general in conjection with the "respect your elders no matter what" sentiment is so weird. Like people are acting like chloe is some replaceable woman while the mother is not for her toxicity?? It makes me think of this hypothetical if Chloe could very well one day, if they want to, become his wife and mother to his kids, and if that happens will that be the ONLY time she will get any respect for being by his side??
EXACTLY. I get so pissed at people thinking and assuming that his girlfriend is only using him for money, they both have cash y’all! She has always been there right beside him, supporting him on his goals! I also agree on the “infantilisation” part, it’s weird as hell. Yulo is a grown ass man.

agree, being a parent doesn't give you a pass to disrespect your children. And in the first place, if the parent felt threatened if their children make their own life choices, it says a lot about them.
Personally, I still believe in respecting the elders/parents. My empathy comes from a technical aspect that as one grows old, some functions wont work the same way, complications arise, etc. Those considerations always make me choose to give the seats to them or assist them as they walk. But that's just abt it, no feelings involved. Beyond that, their stupid reasoning, NOPE. Whoever made the mistake is accountable & their age/title do not grant them immunity in any freakin' form. No such as things as, "ang magulang/pamilya ay magulang/pamilya" bec truth is, "an asshole is an asshole." 😅
Live your best life. YOLO. Make your own money so you have the power to leave anyone who disrespects you. This is 2024, we’re almost heading into 2025. The only right proper family is the one that respects you, and you can choose them.
"wag mo sagutin yung mga magulang mo o yung matanda sayo" i think this saying is right tho, no point naman na makipagtalo ka sa kanila, kase tingin nila sila yung tama so its just a waste of time.
Even in BDSM they always make sure to talk about boundaries before starting anything. You can't just rush into it and hope for the best. There are established rules, limitations, and an understanding of what’s acceptable. A safe word is always agreed upon. Verbal consent is crucial-it's a necessary conversation where both parties clearly communicate their desires and limits. If someone thinks that asking for verbal consent might ruin the moment, I disagree. I find it hot that they ensure your comfortable first... verbal consent is given. So if your gonna complain that you don't get when they want it or not then ask, you have a mouth, use it...

It's disheartening to see that this is the first Filipino commentary on this issue that doesn't resort to cheap humor at the expense of serious topics. The undeserved harassment directed at our gold medalist and especially Chloe is deeply concerning. It highlights a troubling cultural trend where sensitive matters are often trivialized for entertainment. We need to move beyond this and engage in respectful, thoughtful discussions about these issues.
"Thoughtful discussions", I know that's one thing that regular Filipino folk aren't good at. Hell, we can't even talk about our own feelings and to process them without being made fun of. A lot of serious issues that should be addressed usually devolve into mockery. Doesn't help that we are taught to be compassionate by religion. It's like those sermons and preachings go in one ear and out the other. They pray yet they don't practice what they preach. Our whole country as a society is a mess and it all stems from the lack of social nuance and education.
@@emperor_23897 And lastly, humility and compassion, the hardest part(even I) after. "YOU'RE NOT FERAL DOGS."---is so freaking true!! I had this one previous relationship where I really had to oblige myself into doing it everyday with him whenever I visit his place (we barely go out, so I visit him everyday). I had to assume that those things were normal in a relationship. But it's actually not! I have a partner right now and we've been together for a year. We don't do it as often but I feel very loved and taken care of than the previous relationships I had. So I never really felt there was anything lacking in our relationship and even if we do feel something, we just simply communicate. Like I even had this one friend that would mock me and my partner for not doing it as often as them. I told my boyfriend about it and he said, "So? It's not like all we wanna do is just have s3x." And that MADE ME REALLY THINK.
This is me with my mom, but then, she was the same woman who had used my personal social media without my consent to spy on my siblings and would sell arts I drew without my consent 💀
the thing pa with robin is, may mga babae syang mga anak, and that's how he acts in front pa of the senate 😃😭 Ang sestitibo ng topic na pwede sanang gawing mas makabuluhan pa tapos ginawa nya lang katatawanan. oh well, what can you expect from someone na tumakbo lang kasi wala na daw syang ipon, at nagcocosplay lang sa senado.
Minsan kase, aside from pagod or masama lang ang pakiramdam ng partner mo, they just might not see consistently "doing it" as something to look forward to/ hindi kasing enjoyable para sa kanila. So kung gusto mo mas mapansin at hanaphanapin ni wifey yung intimate moments nyo, try mag open communication and/or mag experiment on what she likes and doesn't like in bed. Hindi yung puro sariling needs lang.

PLEASE make more content like this. To many Filipinos, topics such as boundaries, consent, and even marital r*** are unheard of. Many of these problems are rooted in outdated ways of thinking and ignorance.
Manee, I really feel bad for Caloy and Chloe. Imagine representing and bringing honor to your country, but instead of being celebrated, random people starts meddling with your personal life. The notion abt forgiving family members who did you so wrong and doesn’t seem to show you no remorse is just so outdated.
I remember this one time Lee Kuan Yew was interviewed by a Filipino. Instead of asking about his takes on statecraft, the person chose to ask about how his wife might have influenced his decision making because of that truism "behind every great man is a greater woman". Lee cut that shit straight-out because his personal life has nothing to do with his decisions and policy making. Filipinos in general seem obsessed with truisms and relating everything to interpersonal family dynamics. The personal is business to the Filipino, and the business is personal.
@@Borderose Filipinos seem to struggle with the concept of "stay out my business." Is Philippines boring or something cause people with a life don't usually got time to be prying around in others. I've unfortunately had to deal with this type of behavior and it's just so toxic.

A wife absolutely has the right to say "no" to her husband regarding sex if she is not feeling well or for any other reason. Consent in a marriage, just like in any relationship, is essential. Both partners must respect each other's boundaries and well-being, and no one should feel pressured or obligated to engage in sexual activity if they are not comfortable or in the right state of mind or health. In a healthy relationship, communication, mutual respect, and understanding are key. It's important to prioritize each other's physical and emotional well-being. "I'm really surprised that this individual won as a Senator. This seems to reflect poorly on the judgment of a significant portion of the voters."

People in the Philippines can be very judgmental. As a child, I was criticized for not being "feminine" enough and not allowed to do certain activities because they were seen as for boys. Growing up, I was surrounded by people who used a lot of offensive language (racial slurs, homophobic slurs, and almost everything else). People made jokes about **pe, even though they knew how serious it was. Boys were often the ones making these jokes, and even teachers would make inappropriate comments about the clothing of certain girls at school that either directly or indirectly expressed they were asking for it. I've seen elders, especially conservative ones, often dismiss abusive relationships. Usually, victim blaming or belittling them. I've had a lot of guys, especially older ones, making inappropriate advances and comments at my older sister from childhood to teenagehood and towards adulthood. I've heard way too many old people telling young kids who have an abusive relationship with family or parents that they were ungrateful for wanting to leave such a toxic home. I've had teachers who humiliated their students for the smallest things (sake of fun in their point of view) and also physically harming them then claiming it as discipline. I've had classmates who made fun of me for being smart in a subject they weren't, spreading false information about me and so many more. I know all of these and so much more from experience. Philipines is not a great country.

As a kinky Filipino, people making excuses for doing actions without proper preparations and boundaries laid out by saying 'I misread the situation' drives me up a fucking wall. There's a reason why there's so much stigma to BDSM and non-conventional kinks, because people keep using them to get away with harmful practices and excuses like theses. And with our abysmal sex education, which is often very little to none, we don't have the knowledge and tools to protect ourselves from these kinds of issues. I'm glad my mom didn’t stray away from talking about sex ed in an appropriate manner and didn't call my genitalia a 'flower' but still made it kid friendly when I was younger.
You can blame Organised Religion in the Philippines for the lack of sexual education and for a lot of other societal prejudices and norms in the Philippines. They've always been holding back the country's progress and the youth's ability to think independently for themselves. They've purposely held back the use of contraceptives for the general public to use for a long time. I think they've only recently made contraceptives somewhat acceptable. They also have a massive influence in our country's politics and education. A lot of of the out of touch politicians usually have the backing of whatever church they are associated with hence the lack of focus on sexual education. It's no wonder why there's so many teenage pregnancies in our country. Being sexually active wouldn't be so frowned upon if the youth are actually educated on it. It's crazy how powerful they are.

Finally somone talking about this issue. God, i hate it here (ph). Issues like these really expose the toxic filipino culture we have. I don't know why I'm even appalled at Robin but his views on pre-marital 🍇?? He was shocked you can say NO?? So his wife never said no to him?? Idk if i also should feel bad fot Mariel, cause she's a grown woman. And don't get me started with Carlos family drama. The internalized misogyny Filipino boomers have to Chloe. Calling her names just because she's confident with herself? I always read comments about them on reddit. Reddit people are sane compared to FB people 😂. Someone said Angelika hates Chloe cause she secretly wants to be her cause unlike Chloe, she got pregnant at an early age and can't get to have her own career so she uses her kids as her retirement plan. And their whole family won't stop posting online including the younger kids. Their family literally needs therapy. The fact that Carlos & Chloe have apologized countless times but they'l still wouldn't accept their apology. The truth why they don't? They want Carlos to kneel and beg and give them a part of the rewards he got. It's simply about the money.
victim-blaming is still very much a thing over there. like it's your fault getting molested or assaulted because you're wearing makeup. it's the wife's fault their husband cheated because her husband-pleasuring sex is either sparce or unsatisfactory. and that politician in the intro says some of the dumbest sh1t about everything-whether it be about women's right, human rights, security and foreign policies, even just simple general knowledge-all he does is yell his words to appear intimidating when his competency or intelligence is challenged; but all this does is make people realize his bullsh1t more.

Can the next topic be about heightism in the Philippines? Idk if its me but lately the tropes of every relationship is always a man taller than the girl and the short are always looked down upon. And this is the senator of the Philippines, chosen by majority of the citizens over a highly credible lawyer. Third world countries stay third world for a reason.
This guy sided with his son in law instead of his daughter after being cheated on over and over throughout their marriage all because he is a man and that he made the same “mistakes.”
As a filipino, thank u so much for speaking up about this, it’s fucked up and I find it gets slipped under the rug so easily. Despite not living in Philippines, it’s disheartening coz I know ppl very close to me who look UP to that senator.
It happens both ways. I remember saying no to my exwife and it eventually led to her cheating. I also remember one time when she said no she was tired so i proceeded to watch tv instead. There’s this quote that has been on my mind and it made me think a lot about other men. “You can trust a bear to be a bear, but you cannot trust a man to be humane”
parents should be thinking ahead of their future child's life before even giving birth to them. whenever they struggle with money, they blame it to their child being "pabigat" which is just insane. you should be able to support your child mentally and financially until he becomes an adult/independent person, not just when they stop being a cute baby. also, parents shouldn't be making their children feel responsible of giving back the money they spent for their own child, because that's just your obvious responsibility as a parent. giving birth to a child means you're ready to face the responsibility and if not, then you shouldn't be having kids in the first place.

The Yulo situation made crawl up a wall. When everything first unfolded, I immediately empathized with Carlos because my mom (and her side of the family) has the same mentality and has issues recognizing financial boundaries. Growing up with individuals are extremely damaging to be around.
Icks? Bruh parang americano kana ata

An interesting series of personal examples you've set to the table.
Can we be justified in pursuing (fact-less) gossip for the sake of fun despite being digital natives?”
The problem here is media literacy.
I just personally think that you are misdiagnosing the main cause of the problem.

the way people are reacting to yulo's success is so fucking weird and invasive 😭 i've noticed how in the filipino culture/ asian culture there's often a strong emphasis on respecting and honoring parents, sometimes to the point where people overlook abusive and harmful behavior from them. this is such a toxic behavior especially if someone was brave enough to walk away from that environment. they shouldn't be made to be a bad person because they chose to no longer have their parents in their lives.
THISSSSSSS
100%!!! Many people gaslighted Yulo about his family situation
additionally, i hate the need for a "witch" in situations like these. people are hating on his gf and blaming her for creating the rift between him and his mom. yulo is old enough to make his own decisions. blaming it on his gf is kinda infantilizing him.
Why is no one pointing out how the mother is giving Tiktok boy mom energy? and the fuckin "you only have one mom you could replace her with other women your mom likes" is so degrading for both Yulo and his girlfriend, he shouldn't have to bow down to his mother's wishes and it frames Chloe as nothing but an object that can be replaced easily.

agree, being a parent doesn't give you a pass to disrespect your children. And in the first place, if the parent felt threatened if their children make their own life choices, it says a lot about them.
Here before that one parent sees this and defends their generation's problematic ways. 🤫

To clarify, its's not Chloe's family, it's Carlo's family. Chloe is Carlo's gf. Aside from the abuse that carlo's mother has done to Carlo. The internet is abusing Chloe by siding with her bf's mother over her.
Some Filipinos just *LOVEEEE* getting into other people’s personal life and invading their boundaries and privacy. 🤦

Bilang isang lalaki totoo yung mga R*pe jokes eh yung kaibigan katabi ko nga sinabihan ako na "The younger the soul the tighter the hole" ng pabiro eh kaso problema may babae sa harap namin na nakarinig.

@@hypocrisy2144 I'm fine now. I got into therapy eventually after I exploded on my mother during an argument. I mainly had therapy because I told her about my ex who pressured me into dating her and proceeded to do horrible things to me after I broke up with her unfaithful butt. I don't want to say or think about what she did to me, it was terrible. I felt like a bird trapped in a cage with her, a person drowning underwater, a butterfly whose wings were torn out, and a dog on a leash forced to bark at anyone who so much did something that offended her. I think I got a little better after therapy. I still feel really dirty when a girl touches me.

Honestly its really discomforting knowing that a senator we voted is so clueless?? Like he came so unprepared ): I also have to mention why are they so clueless about consent? Specifically the one with the choking, usually it should be discussed or at least have some kind of stop signal.
Most people who voted for robin are from the taong masa. But people arent ready for that conversation.
I met this guy at the airport few months back (before this issue) and some kabayans recognized him so they took pictures and stuff. I was a staff so I was 2 meters away from him, just standing. And he approached me, asking me if I wanted a picture with him too. I said "No thanks, I'm kinda busy." (which is true.) and he winked at me saying "The next time we meet, let's have a picture together." at the time I felt really, like "special"? Cus yk, he's very famous. And now looking back, I JUST WANNA THROW UPPPP. I cannot FATHOM the thought of him being so close to my vicinity. Like, just ew.
As an agnostic (but I just say I'm atheist for conversation's sake), I hate it when people bring up religion when we're talking about laws in the Philippines. We're supposed to be a free country, yet the number 1 reason why divorce isn't legal yet is BECAUSE of religious reasons. I can't wait to move out of here when I can
Honestly yes, doesn't mean that the majority is Catholic that we should just not represent non-believers of that faith in the law. We should give people a choice lol ain't that what Christianity is all about? Free will. You can choose not to participate in what you see as a sin and us non-believers can do our own lol
So yeah sometimes I feel like the Philippines is stuck in the medieval era where separation of church and state is basically non-existent 🤦
@@thecatreturns22True, also an awful lot of those self-proclaimed Christians don't even honor the two fundamental laws of their teachings "love your neighbor as you love yourself and put God above everything" They seem to forget that God is Love which shows in how much hate and shame they throw onto others. The love your neighbors as you love your self Explicitly state that there should not be a double standard and that grace should be given to both you AND your neighbor. In short it means if they can, you can and if they can't then you can't too. But no, sadly most are preconditioned to just "go with the flow" to the point that they lower their self-respect and are proud of their hypocrisy because they can't lower their pride to acknowledge and hold themselves accountable for their mistakes to better themselves.
So much to be humble like Christ ama right?
Ironic that despite being one of the most problematic of the 2 religions in the Philippines, Ang Muslim ay may kakayanhan mag divorce while tayong katoliko hindi. nakakatwa talaga, takot ang pulitko na hiwalayan sila ng kanilang mga asawa.
diba may law daw na bawal makialam ang religion sa government dahil dun sa nangyari nung colonized tayo ng spaniards? wala bang vice-versa ung law na un na ung government hindi dapat based on/influenced by religion ung laws? besides, like another reply said, hindi lng naman catholic/christian ang religion sa pilipinas eh

I will say as a man who’s been married to my high school sweetheart for 15 years I can say there are times when my wife says “no I’m not in the mood” but then once we start interacting with each other, she changes her mind and then there are times when she says “NO IM NOT IN THE MOOD” and I understand the difference it’s the same with me. There’s times when I’m just really tired and she will start interacting with me and I give in, but it’s not a forceful given and then there’s time when I’m. “TIRED” and she understands.

Like shit, bat ka pa magkakaanak kung sa tingin mo piggy bank lang sila diba? The thought of that is honestly so revolting. I have a lot of faith in the Filipino youth. Maraming salamat talaga!!

we really have this problem na mas naging conservative pa tayo sa colonizers natin like with catholicism and yung collectivism with eastern culture. maybe rooted with pagiging colonized for hundreds of years kaya we have a hard time to let go yung dated norms like our treatment with women and view on politics idk
Overrated yung concept Na kaya ganito tayo is because of colonialism. Shows of pa victim mentality, Our ancestors arent this very good People u think that was just tolerant of everything. not to mention when the Spanish came here a lot were willing to join the spaniards. Not to mention the problem is not just catholicsm and Chinese influence but mas lalo na yung paging Muslim. Our people are responsible for our own failures, Also we arent this special case that we are the only country who was colonized for a long time just look at the histories of Europe and the middle east stretching from the time of rome. I know how crazy it must feel sometimes especially when they outnumber you. You're one of the sane few in the country.
Theres a second wave of Chloe hate on facebook. With screenshots of her unapologetically calling out Angelica's behavior. Pero yung mga pabaliktad nating elders, ang pag perceive nila non is "pambabstos." Personally, Chloe (and Caloy) being bitter is warranted. They hate her for fighting back, but they never question yung public rin na pambabastos ni Angelica kay Chloe.

Despite not living in Philippines, it’s disheartening coz I know ppl very close to me who look UP to that senator.

parents should be thinking ahead of their future child's life before even giving birth to them. whenever they struggle with money, they blame it to their child being "pabigat" which is just insane. you should be able to support your child mentally and financially until he becomes an adult/independent person, not just when they stop being a cute baby. also, parents shouldn't be making their children feel responsible of giving back the money they spent for their own child, because that's just your obvious responsibility as a parent. giving birth to a child means you're ready to face the responsibility and if not, then you shouldn't be having kids in the first place.
