Of course! I’m here as much as I can be. Full time work plus having a farm doesn’t leave a lot of leisure time right now 😅 I’ll always do my best to respond to comments though!
Thanks for the comment! Any tips on how to figure that out? I think another thing that was messing with me was the custom spring hangers and shackle reverse kit stuff. It looks home made, so I don’t know how much that adjusted the ride height 😂
Hey Ron! I’m sorry we missed that trip! We were elbow deep in the first gen. I took your advice and we ordered a 1” body lift to run 35s. I need to get that body lift in before I make my final fitment on the panels, so that I know everything is truly square. Hopefully the front axle didn’t ruin your weekend and wasn’t an expensive break!
Someone had another axel and after strapped off the trail went back to the Moose Lodge and replaced the axle and back to the trail. No one was at the gate keeper and the three of us went thru. We ended up catching my group from earlier. They were stuck behind a jeep blown out ball joint 2 hours. Very surprised to see me. Adventure fun.
New subscriber! Quick question…kind of in the same situation. I have an ‘85 CJ7 with some blown shocks and I need to replace them. There is a lift on the jeep but unsure what it is. Probably 2.5-3.5. Will the 5100’s work for me? Great video!
Welcome! They should work great. I actually ran into an issue with these shocks hitting the axle because of the shackle reverse kit but I didn’t discover that until the shocks blew up halfway through the rubicon trail. If you’re looking to buy some Bilsteins reach out to my friends Ian and Brittany at WheelEveryWeekend.com and tell them I sent you!
I have a bunch of various videos on it in the High School Jeep playlist! If you want the general overview, it’s this: 1979 CJ7 304 AMC V8 T150 transmission (I will be swapping that out for a T18A here soon) Dana 20 transfer case Factory narrow track axles (for now) Shackle reverse kit with unknown lift kit brand Tom Wood’s Driveshafts PRP Seats, harnesses and steering wheel RockHard 4x4 harness bar Raceline monster beadlocks WARN locking hubs Baja Designs lights Optima yellow top battery And a bunch of other stuff I’m forgetting 😅
Oh! And as far as the axles go… Dana 30 front with 4.56 gears and a lockrite lunchbox locker The rear is an AMC20 with 4.56 gears and a Detroit locker. It also has TEN Factory one piece axles in it. Both axles have OX locker diff covers. I have a high steer kit from OK4WD and the steering is Rugged Ridge HD
Good question! I actually tried welding in a permanent splined quick release and ruined my steering column in the process so now it’s just bolted in with an adapter on a new column 😂
It’s not functional 😂 When I got the high school jeep, it came with the disclaimer that it had been rolled before. The tub is bent in the back corner, and the cowl is dented on the passenger side. The mirror was all twisted up when I got it, so I just did my best to straighten it out.
Nothing on earth is more beautiful than a CJ
Yes sir! Appreciate the info and response! 🤘

Heck of a journey for some shocks.😁 Glad you got it all figured out.
No kidding! I sometimes wish that I could just leave things alone. 🤣
Awesome vid, can’t wait to see those things on the Rubicon.
They should hopefully make a huge difference!
I would bet your springs are Rubicon Express 2 1/2 inch. They are good springs, first time viewer
like your channel.

I can’t mount new shocks because the Northeast makes rust out of Jeep frames 😭😭
Great video as always 👍🏻
I know all too well after 8 years in Illlinois 😭
Thanks!
@@CRAWLTV 😂😂😭

VA: your back claim has been denied.
Jarrett: why?
VA: I'm a subscriber.
LOL! Since we last spoke my claim has been submitted. I have my first “exam” tomorrow and another Thursday. Wish me luck. 🍀
did not see you in Big Bear last weekend. I broke front axle. lots of gen 6 broncos there.

Crawl TV, how can I find out more details on the High School CJ? Motor, drivetrain, etc. Thanks!

Thank you! Now I have a list to go by. Factory tub?
@Ironfireman11 yep!
Is your PRP steering wheel on a quick release?
Good question! I actually tried welding in a permanent splined quick release and ruined my steering column in the process so now it’s just bolted in with an adapter on a new column 😂
Did you modify your passenger rear view mirror?
It’s not functional 😂
When I got the high school jeep, it came with the disclaimer that it had been rolled before. The tub is bent in the back corner, and the cowl is dented on the passenger side. The mirror was all twisted up when I got it, so I just did my best to straighten it out.
@@CRAWLTV It looked like your fixed the Inherent design flaw if the AMC passenger rear view mirror.
Oh! Haha! Well in that case it was totally intentional! 🤣
What model are those seats?
These are PRP Comp Elites. They completely change the feel of driving the Jeep. They fully lock you in. It’s awesome
Third times the charm! #sendit 😎🤘🏻
Thanks again for the shocks! Even though they weren’t a perfect match it was worth a shot!
@@CRAWLTV no problem at all! at the rate you guys are purchasing projects, I’m sure you’ll find a use for them soon! 😈
Rancho are junk. You are lucky that they didn’t fit.
Oh good! Well I’m glad I dodged a bullet then!
