  • a complete walk through how a cr 18.6 to 1 high compression diesel engine is converted to woodgas with piston dimples for high efficiency testing it was Interesting because it didn't have any sing of knock at full power (at the moment 4.5kw)
    replication of engine testing

Yeah I find it cool to see that the legend of maximum cr 18.5 is broken by this engine its 18.6 now haha

That's a nice conversion from Diesel to Treezel :) .
Yours is the first I have seen, that includes a means of shifting the spark timing, while the engine is running.
In doing this, you have proven the theory about the relationship between improved performance and advanced sparking.
I imagine that you'd want to delay it for starting, and advance it for running - to take the strain off the starter motor.

I appreciate hearing this from a experienced wood bug bite victom , the ideal ignition timing seems to be different for different fuel mixtures . Supper lean (22 to 1 on the meter is about 21 deg) a bit more rich (16 to 1 ) seems to be 13 deg btdc . The compression ratio of this machine is super high (18.6 to 1) ennitbhas not sign of knocking:) , for lower CR i believe the ignition should be more advanced (excemple CR 8.5 i found i got about 200 watt extra from a gx200 clone generator at 36 deg btdc ) . What I'm after is the method of (spcci) this is f1 en mazda skyactiv tech ) that means high cr , lean mixture en late ignition timing.

Those woodgas bugs really love to nip necks ;) .
Your experiments with CR and ignition timing are unique, as I am not sure that I have seen anyone else doing it.
If we were on neighbouring farms, I am sure that we could combine our resources, to create a truly wonderful woodgas monster :) .
Your desire to emulate SPCCI tech is super commendable, and that's where I reckon that computers wood come to the rescue.
Incorporating a computer into your design, so it can learn how to optimise the system's operation, wood be a dream come true :) .

@CNCmachiningisfun i agree we should combine forces to design a zero tar monster .I already helped a friend fro. Franse (oliver) to make a tar free gasiffier en it worked he now traping the last few wood bugs , If you like you can send me a message of fbook ore email (oscarverwey@gmail.com) .

That wood be good. Even the woodgas bugs agree :) .
Time is a little bit too limited here, as I am building a new machine shop, and setting up this farm.
These little tasks are keeping me away from my woodgas love, which is really annoying the local woodgas bug population ;) .

    Sounds very nice on woodgas!

Yeah its a world of difference in comparaton to the diesel mode . It almost sounds like a gx390 with 2x the compression ratio 18.6 to 1 . Isn't that amazing
