Clarence is great because he acts and speaks like a real kid and that makes the show feel all the more natural, all the character interactions feel very real, like the way they make little small talk or the way Clarence stumbles over his words because he can't get out all the words he wants to say, and the way they manage to show traits of characters while not making a big show out of it unless it's actually a big deal. These really genuine moments just come out of nowhere and aren't focused on as if they're a gimmick, which is how real life is. You learn something about someone, think for a moment, and then move on. Also, the background music is really fucking good. Listen to DIY, that shit is cash.

That was such a funny scene. For some reason, I fantasized that his poop would come out of his pants and start talking. Sumo screams at the talking turd and runs towards the pool and eats it. Sumo then gets sick and faints and dies. Clarence seeing this then screams “suuuuuuuuuuumo” and poops again. The big kid with a blue shirt then gets buff along with the other students and depart the classroom and start attacking aberdale for no reason. Mrs Baker traumatized from all this then eats Clarences shit.

This show is genuinely both the most natural unnatural show. You can tell Clarence today would be seen as socially awkward, and with how realistic the characters act, you'd expect such, yet they seem to tolerate him, like he's just like everyone else. Its an interesting paradox

it really isn't. Clarence is overly exaggerated to be dumb and Innocent (which is meant to be part of the core message of the show) and even though at a few times it can be seen annoying, it's really the Interactions with the other characters which makes it funny, because they react to Clarence the same way we do.
