I really hope you enjoy this video! If you're interested in learning more about the Polygon T7 click the link below. It's a huge help to me and my channel!
Polygon T7 - tidd.ly/3wRjP0A
Got my T7 first of July and after a few weeks here is my quick review on the bike: For the price $2k with Tax its hard not to like what you get right out of the box. The Shimano Deore is absolutely bulletproof, no need to change anything on the drivetrain in my opinion. Many entry level bikes come with SRAM SX which really should be SUX. The Recon Fork was my biggest worry and yes it is a little heavy, it has done an admirable job so far, as well as the rear shock. Contacts points in Saddle and Grips are just fine and dropper works great. Even the the pedals that come included are just fine. If you get the Schwalbe Tires they are easy to setup tubeless. The 2.6 width and aggressive tread is somewhat a slow roller in my opinion, but again for what you get out of the box for this price how can you really complain.
Short and to the point! Thanks!
Thank you! This is so easy to follow
Thank you for such a clear step by step instructional video!
Love it!
Well explained and will be watching the video when my bike arrives soon, love ya work! 👍🏻
A sincere thank you, that was an excellent video to help me with setup. Very much appreciated.
Great job Gene, awesome tutorial 🙌
So my bike is suppose to arrive today and buy watching your video will really help me prepare for the small things. Such as when putting on your front tire, make sure not to lose the shim, even with feeding the cable for the drop down post. Seriously it's the small things that counts, very nice well done video.
Great overview Gene! Lot's of new riders out there that need this info. 🙌
Best instructions I have seen yet on setting up a Polygon
Great Vid, I should be seeing my T7 this Friday!! Pretty Stoked!!
Just got mine saturday yesterday. Had alot of head scratching as im not a real mtn bike techy, Just like riding, but im rancher so have mech skills. But got it together, wished id found this vid first...LOL never even heard of a dropper seat let alone knowing i had one on my bike... but so far so good... was on sale last week for 1599 today at 8/28/2022 its 2199 bikesonline. go figure i got lucky as F!
Awesome tutorial🙌
Very Good,,, I like your video
Thanks for a well done review and assembly video. It helped me a lot! I Ordered a T7 on March 21st and it arrived April 2nd. The top flap was open and the little box with the goodies was busted open. Luckily I found all the pieces and there was no damage to the bike. I kind of think I got a bike that was previously returned. I'm 5'9" with long arms and long upper torso. The sizing calculator placed me on the lower end of the size L range. It feels pretty good and a more experienced rider than me said the fit looked good.
good job Gene..keep the party on the pedal!!
Excellent! It's nice that you're able to build up the bike and ride with everything that comes in the box.
Pretty cool right!
Strong bike 👍
I have the rear derailleur on my super pricy bike, yes, no need for pricy Rd if you can smash it to bits. I've also tried this cassette, it shifts smoothly
This bike seems quitw nice, nice to see they went for reasonable drivetrain option.
Seems like a good option, no matter the budget. But I would out an oval chai ring. And of course Catalyst pedals too
This is a good value fist full suspension do it all 🚲. Very popular in New Zealand 🇳🇿
Congrats on 20k, man! Great video! Stoked to be a part of the Bikes Online team alongside you.
PS: jealous of the tires you got. Lol.
I have to say that these tires do hook up big time! Thx for the support my friend and Bikes Online / Polygon Bikes brother 👍
After waiting 2 months, my T7 has finally shipped from LA. Your vid is very helpful--I appreciate you noting details like the cups, and your conversational style is informative and engaging. Can't wait to get on the trails here in Central OR!
So did you like it? Do you think its worth the money 💰?
What is the torque specifications for rear shock eyelets, lower and chamber ones? I can't find this in the manual nor are written on the bike frame.
Super
nice video, I'm wondering between 2021 model and 2022, they look the same and same aspects, but there are $800 bucks difference, does it worth the new model?
How is the engagement on the hub?
Great video, I’m due to receive my 2022 T7 today so this video is a great help! Can you recommend a way to set up the air suspension?
I've actually used this video to help me many times. Give it a go!

What is the torque setting for the handle bar clamp? It is not in the torque list ?
Great vid. I love my T8 and haven't changed a thing. One question for you: have you ever had to remove the rubber grommets from a bike? I had occasion to change my dropper cable but I ruined the grommets getting it out. Also if you order new grommets they require that you remove your brake cable so you can thread the cable through the grommet. Lastly at 10.00 each they are too expensive to ruin and frankly there must be a better way to install new ones as they were a real PITA to remove. Any tricks?
Oh I hear ya buddy! Those things suck on ALL BIKES! Trust me you're not alone on this one. Honestly the only tip I have is that I often add some lube to the grom to help get it to fit in the bike and allow the cables to slide through. You are correct that the cables will need to be removed to run through the new grom and that also sucks it! I'm sorry I have no tips for you but at least you know you're not alone HAHAHA!
Great video thanks mate
Did it come with the torque wrench?
And did you need to bleed or pump the breaks or shocks??
Yep! The tools in the video came with the bike. I didn't have to bleed the brakes but you will always have to adjust the shocks. That's not a fault of the bike because this always needs to be tuned per rider so I'm cool with that.
My bike did not come with the front axle endcap. What are my options? Is it needed?
Just to ad a comment about Polygon bikes, there has been a couple of people who received two of the same side peddles but they where marked L&R so if you ever feel like a peddle is not going on properly just check the threads so you dont strip your cranks. Also people have issues with the dropper not working properly, just make sure you do not have a big kink where your cable comes out of your downtube.
Thanks for this info 👍
did the suspension have air when you got it? For example: my YT did not have air in the suspension and it was crucial to set that up first before riding. Buying one of these for my son
Some air but it needed more. Honestly, I think it has to do with shipping. I'm gonna say that you will always have to check the air pressure in bikes that get shipped to you 👍
Can I change the 32 tooth to 34 tooth on this bike ?
what are good back packs for mountain biking? I see you got some hanging.
I've been using the USWE bags. I like them because they don't bunch around my waist and offer an action camera mount option. Check my channel for a review I did 👍
I have a 2021 T7 and love it. My only complaint is that it's fairly heavy. I'd love to see if you could do a regular guy's guide to lightening the bike by spending a practical amount considering the bike's price point.
Check out Cure Cycling 👍
@@rgmtb I've seen that, Cure did not spend a practical amount.
cheapest way to save weight is to go on a diet ;)
Couldn't have been pre-packed anybetter
Hey can anyone tell me is it good to buy polygon t7 for both road and off-road its my dream bike I'm now in 10th grade and when I told this to my friend he told me that once complete i 12th grade i will get tempted to buy a motor bike so the cycle became useless In some way and I can't afford both cycle and bike so if I buy this bike is it worth for my purposes
What thickness does your bike tires came with? I'm under the impression that it seems that some people get 2.6 and some 2.4's. which sucks because they are charging $200 more now!
Mine came with 2.4. I totally understand the frustration but when I asked BOL about this they responded by saying that getting tires in general are very tough. Also, BOL gets these bikes from Polygon so the switch happens a bit further up the food chain. The other issue is that the shipping costs to move these bikes is insane now! It's just messed up across the board.
Anybody has issues with spoke nipples on rear drive side braking off? I had 3 already and I am wondering if anybody has the same issue.

Welcome aboard! Thank you 👍
@@rgmtb thanks
So i set my bike up but my dropper post won't work, i think there is too much slack in the line possibly, can i pull slack out of the line??
Yes, but don't make it to tight because that may cause the dropper to stay up and not down after you push it down. This is common across all droppers and not just the one on these bikes. I've been finding the sweet spot for years with these ;-)
If Maynard James Keenan was just a regular guy who enjoyed mountain biking...
Haha!
He looked familiar to me too, great build tutorial Maynard.
If I’m 6,0ft should I get an L or XL frame?
I'd be leaning towards the XL. I'm 5'8" and feel comfortable on an L from time to time. Personally I buy M size frames but I'd be OK with a L. Does this help?
I'm 5'9 should I get a large or medium?
Ok, you're in a tough spot. I'm 5'8" and always have the same question. First off, you're lucky in the sense that you will be good either way. Now are you looking for a more playful bike to rock around on or (med) or something that might be a bit more stable and better for climbing hills (large). Look, this is a really tough one. All I can say is that you'll be cool on either. The med might feel a bit tight but can be adjusted with seat placement and different stem. Large might be a bit stretched out but the same can be adjusted. I realize you asked me for a solid answer but I can't give you one. I'm 100% in the same boat. I tend to ride med but you are a bit taller than me.
did you buy the L or M Ibby? I'm 177cm which is just under 5'10", with 82cm / 32" inseam, also looking to buy a T7
I got no tools with mine 😢
grease your head tube bearings, apparently the don't grease the bearings.
Thank you for such a clear step by step instructional video!
