I find a system like that to be a little too intrusive, as I'd rather the auto company require a warrant to release get that information. On the other hand, with the decline in civility and personal responsibility (and rise in self-centered behavior) in today's society, I can see why something like this might be implemented. I'd like to know how the systems determine if you are speeding as the forward facing cameras I've seen are kind of blurry and could easily mis-read/mis-interpret speed limits signs off to the side of the road. For me it makes my old 2006 truck more appealing to keep and repair rather than trade it in for a newer model.
My 2008 vehicle is old enough to not be networked nor will I own a vehicle that is networked or one that won't allow me to physically nuke that aspect of it. If it's networked, Tesla has proven that automakers can't be trusted. I want none of that.
So Ford cars have cameras that will record street crime and the police will tow the car that recorded the crime in progress like they do Tesla cars. Impound fee goes to who?

First the vehicle reporting is never accurate mine often alerts incorrectly, even the speeds are often read incorrect...and just another reason to never buy a Ford...
