Manufacturers in N.Z. Are going away from electronic control in their caravans as the price of replacing the control screen is not cheap. When we were looking for a new caravan, having electronic control was a deal breaker. Originally, so was having a combined toilet & shower - but the amount of times we used the shower this is no longer important. We do a lot of freedom camping and saving water is more important, so a wash down with a basin of water and flannel- or baby wipes is sufficient, or use campgrounds facilities every few days. How much bench space is there? Enough to do the dishes? And perhaps the most important tip *** check the cabinetry fit snugly (perfectly) to the walls. If it has come away anywhere even slightly, don’t touch it with a barge pole - no matter how much you otherwise like the caravan. Look for ant repairs. The cabinetry is part of the structural strength and very expensive to fix, which we learnt the hard way - twice. But never again!
Wow!! Awesome! Thanks so much for this as i am one of those people who always goes for latest model. My purchase this week is an older Sterling as thats all i can afford at the moment. I am glad to have stumbled on this video ... it has given me peace of mind. 😃.
Sir, excellent presentation. I'm about to buy my first ever caravan and you have highlighted certain areas that I hadn't previously thought off. Thank you - you should go and get yourself on a TV channel 👍
i like this one over many of the others, im after a caravan for next year and i think one of these will do the job, i will replace all lighting with led my self at very little cost so its the rest im after and this seems good
A few hints; Look online for your LED lights. You might have to wait for delivery but the bulbs may be way, way cheaper than from a local outlet (only 1/10 the price here). Get a couple of spares as unlike local purchase returning for warranty is uneconomical. The main lights in our caravan switch 1 or 2 bulb# on - I got warm white for setting 1 and bright white for the other. Setting 2 lights both bulbs. The hard part is choosing how bright to go so I got different sizes for different areas. The toilet, for example doesn’t need a bright light on setting one for nighttime use. One light by the door I got the smallest I could so it could be left on when we go out at night.
What only 6 years could bring to us,with led light, now you will save alooooot of electric power and use that for other stuff. Same thing with led tv’s It’s mind blowing how we can do more with less.
In the video you mention a adaptor for the front so both electric sockets go into one an=t the car point. What is this called and where do you get them from. Many thanks lee
He said it's in surprisingly good condition for a van that's 6 years old. So a. it was not used very much and you should expect it to start looking like crap in just 6 years. Nether are good selling points.

Milenco do them for about £20 👍
And I don't have a heater so I use a heater from a shop that takes up a bit of space

As with new cars you lose money when you leave the dealership and with used van you save a lot of money.

Only difference is snob value, see how long this comment stays up.
