Best put one circlip in first. Offer up the piston and push the pin in from the other side.
This way it's much less fiddly and of course put loads of rag into the case. Don't want to
have to find the circlip when it drops in which it does often, being covered in oil and springy.

Single ring pistons trip me out. I understand there is a reason for them, its just weird. To me. Thanks again for the 20%

Below 7,000 rpm the drag from the piston rings is about the same
whether 1 or 2 rings. Above 7,000 the single ring has less drag then the
two rings. It's small but measurable and tells you that this engine is built
to rev hard and high. The price you pay for that extra performance is
a bit more maintenance of the piston and ring.

Does ur cylinder have an exhaust bridge ?
If so do you not drill holes to keep the bridge lubed up

Do you add oil in before putting on the valve cover. If so how much. All the way to the top or just enough to cover the moving parts?

It didn't look like the piston had those two tiny holes is it necessary to drill some ?

Never heard the gudgeon pin called that before.

  • @dny9394
    @dny9394 4 роки тому +1

Better to block off your crankcase first then put one circlip into the groove.
Offer up the piston and with that one clip fixed the pin cannot slip through
and is held ready for the second clip to go in.
Drop a clip and you are in for a strip-down to find it.
C'mon, you know better than to leave your case open at any time.

💯% I was thinking of this when editing the video I was to focused on making the video and forget about the rag .

Is the Wossner piston your preference for the RM125? Or do you use other brands as well.

Broken Sprocket why is that? I heard if you can’t see or feel scratches it’s fine to run as is. I put mine back together without touching the cylinder and it runs 💯
