No one should hate on anybody getting plastic surgery. It's not your body/face so it's none of your business what they do. If something is bothering them and making them feel self conscious about themselves let them fix it.

So, I have been browsing this site for some time now and finally feel the need to share my own story, as so many of your stories have helped me through this decision. Since I was in grade school I remember being picked on for my large nose. I am Italian and German so I have the typical Italian large nose. I have always avoided side profile pictures and will only stand on my good side in pictures. A few years ago I was hit in the nose (on accident) and years later found out that my nose was broken. Since then it has gotten even more crooked and my deviated septum has gotten even worse. After seeing an ENT and plastic surgeon they said I have a deviated septum on both sides of my nose and they can submit the septum part of the surgery for pre approval from my insurance company. I would then pay for the cosmetic portion of straightening out the nose and shaving down the bump. I am so nervous about the whole process, but think that it can't get much worse than I think it looks now. I can't even imagine having the confidence to have pictures taken of me from the side or not look in the mirror and always notice how crooked my nose is. I have days where I wake up and think, " Am I crazy?" for wanting to do something like this, but then I justify it because my nose wasn't always this crooked. It's getting more and more noticeable, or maybe I am just obsessing over it more. My family and boyfriend are both very supportive of me having the surgery. I was really worried that my parents were going to be upset, but they are not at all.
I wish I could get this, not to change the look of my nose but to help breath. Ever since I was a teen I could not breath too well through my nasal paths. Some surgeries can improve lives in so many ways.

I like his work but some seem a little crooked ... especially on the right nostril... and I would like to see mor minority patients like Latinos and those of darker color... other than that nice work guy
You are correct. Measured with enough precision every single nose can be shown to be crooked. Rhinoplasty is about "adjustment" in the direction desired by each patient, as much as practical. See any examples where that wasn't achieved?

yeah, some of the noses are a bit overdone to my taste but a lot of those pacients really deserved it. I bet they feel so much more confident! Happy for them=)
the one at 1:07 looks great. wonderful results. Most of the patients actually do look natural IMO. Not saying anything is wrong with a big nose because I have one and looking to get one at the age of 28 or 30 =D maybe. Be happy with who you are regardless
Yes, the mind naturally looks for symmetry in faces and people often associate smaller noses as pleasing to the eye. On the other hand, resizing a perfectly symmetrical nose into a cookie cutter shape and size is not because of a "natural" love of symmetry. You don't have to have experience to say if it's right or not. I've never hated someone for the color of their skin, but that doesn't mean I have any less right to say it's wrong. COSMETIC surgery only exists due to of lack of confidence.

im getting mine done in 2 weeks and my biggest fear is ending up with a piggy nose. esp when the dr sais he has to bring up the tip and that there will be visible scarring. i stressed to him that i do not want some weird upturned nose that will make me look like someone else.
