Great video. I like how you showed everything from the airport to the flight to all around the cottage and the beach. If you liked Cat Island then you guys would love the remote islands of French Polynesia. Much further away and expensive but worth it.
I used to think like you when I was younger and poorer... why pay twice for a place on the beach? There's something about waking up and looking out the window at paradise versus walking a distance. Like your videos though, you do an amazing job explaining everything.

We went thru Nassau and found they had several food options open in their food court----not a ton but plenty to eat. Also it's not 'stupid' to pay more for a beach view if that's what you want and you can afford it. By the time you work 40 years you tend to want to spoil yourself once in a while after all the years of being thrifty...at least that's how we are. There is NOTHING like being right on the beach! Hearing the waves lapping up, a 30 second walk to the water, having a completely unobstructed view while having coffee or an evening snack. We think it's well worth it at our age. (early 60's) And with 800 islands in the Bahamas there are zillions of Conch out there----they are only slightly scarce around the highly populated islands like New Providence, Exuma, and such...otherwise not an issue at all.

Many of your commentary remarks are inaccurate! Cat Island is know as an agricultural family island and there are numerous farms all over the island and a weekly Farmers Market!
What do you mean the "Real" Bahamas?....The real Bahamas is what you see...both city and country developed and undeveloped islands all are REAL Bahamas...

Fishing; jam a metal spike through the mouth of the fish and pull it around through the water until you get it into the boat or land, rip the metal spike out and damage the mouth. Fish are sentient animals. If you did this to your pet dog or cat you would be arrested for animal abuse. Ridiculous double standard, and lack of conscience on your part and anyone who fishes.
