Commutator is always split ring ( has a split in it) to convert AC-DC. Slip rings are whole rings which give a continuous contact with the rest of the circuit

why does it say that a DC is induced in the COIL but when in reality a DC is induced in the CIRCUIT and an AC in induced in the coil at 19:32???
