That’s not entirely true. Yes. You need wax but you can do it on most smooth surfaces. I can do it using a GB original puck, wax and tape on my blade but I would imagine that you could do the same thing with just tape on your blade and no wax but you would need to push down real hard on the puck and grab that edge. I usually do it with the heel of my blade. I use a p92 blade and it’s too curved in the middle so it’s hard to do it consistently unless you do it on the heel of the blade.
Worked!!! Did it I think 2nd try with this tutorial while coaching a kids practice. The kids were amazed. Did it a bunch more times afterwards without much effort. Only one I haven't been able to pull off yet is the backhand version.
A tip how to flip the puck to the blade: Not only press down VERTICALLY the puck with the toe of the blade, but push the shaft HORIZONTALLY to flip the puck to the blade. (ie create torque, where the lever arm length is the puck height)
I finally did this after watching this video......did it about ten times one day but then the next day couldn't do it at all....but the next day there was snow all over the ice and it looked like my stick may have had some ice on it too .....could this be why i couldn't do it the next day...
I'm a goalie but playing out tomorrow for stick n puck. I will try this and let you know how it went. If only one goalie shows i may have to abort my venture to the dark side, everyone loves the sight of two goaltenders ha ha
I can do this on Dryland tiles and a Green Biscuit. I can do it stationary with the rh GB or the original. The original one is much easier to do the Michigan with. I would like to see a video on how to do the Michigan while moving with a roller hockey puck because it’s not flat. Thanks in advance!
I think it's allowed since you're allowed to score with the same method. Doesn't happen much during games because it's easy to have someone steal the puck from you during your sweet move

This guy knows his hockey. Probably the best tutorial videos out there.
Looking forward to trying this and falling on my ass in the process.
This comment is underrated
I was never able to do this but after watching this I went out on the ice and I can do it
Yea i got it in three tries after watching this video, but before i marveled at my teammates when they would do it
the keys to this are: wax on the stick, smooth ice
I don't use wax and it can be done on rough ice
wax def helps haha

The Michigan is so easy

Thanks for teaching, gonna try that!
Like always with Itrain, great Tuto!!!
Did it three times the first warm-up that I tried this. Legit.

Oh man, I remember my coaches wearing that same style of jacket
I liked it.👍🏻

My friend, more repeats
nice video thank you !
Thank's!!! Super Video!
thanks, i`m searching how to do this trick about three months
0:57 that was clean
Do you have a video showing a between the legs shot?
question. can this be used during a game for a cheap rush across the ice? or is it against the rules.
I think it's allowed since you're allowed to score with the same method. Doesn't happen much during games because it's easy to have someone steal the puck from you during your sweet move
It’d take a lot more skill to race across the ice with a puck on ur stick in the air 💀
@@raccoon1551Ty for replying 6 yrs later. Agreed! (almost did, never pulled it off)
@@jtezwb23 Damn ur account still even active after 6 years
But yeah racing across the ice with ur stick in the air like a lacrosse game wouldn’t do you any good
Thank you 🙏🏆🙏
Are you able to do this the same way in roller hockey?
Yeah but easier because the tape isn't wet
wery cool!!!
Спасибо!!!
WHICH rink is this?

How the hell does the puck stay almost glued to his stick? I’ve tried this and still can get the puck to stay upright.
Probably wax

true but this is a really good tutorial vid
I like to use my hand haha ..Na just joking i flick it against boards so it bounces back and i catch it
Hi
Impossible for me
Its called the Michigan
you cant do this in roller hockey because normally in roller hockey you use a ball and a ball is not flat
Mitchell Fox you use a ball in roller hockey.
Mitchell Fox that's what you call Inline Hockey(in our country)
i can do it in roller since i use a puck
Make sure your sport is tobacco free XD
LOL
Easy
when did anyone say it was hard?
I can do the second one.more easily....
