It's hilarious how people were excited about Anthony Richardson in the top 5, but Drake Maye is a "huge risk".

Rushing ability & "aura" can blind people. Same reason some ppl allowed excuses for Justin Fields year after year.
Anthony richardson is like twice the athlete of Maye
The rushing ability is ridiculous unless your name is Lamar. Everyone else that has come in with "rushing ability" either gets hurt, or can't throw or tries to be superman every play. Why I don't like Daniels this year.
Richardson is and will always be a challenge and a project --and so is Maye
Klatt and Colin. Kobe and Shaq.
Drake M could easily become quality NFL QB like Justin Herbert. Herbert became a much more consistent & accurate passes in the NFL compared to college. Part of that was the talent around him, but he also really improved his pocket footwork. Drake can do the same. He’s a great athlete just like Herbert.

There aren’t many GOOD QBs in the NFL, friend. Mahomes would be one of one in the current “great” category. There’s probably a total of 10 that are in the “good” category. Which would involve consistently winning, playoff appearances, Super Bowls.. I don’t think that’s a knock on Ohio State, I think that’s just the nature of the game and position at that level. Alabama has been a juggernaut the past 15 years and Tua and Hurts might be the only two on the “good” list. For real, Not many humans on Earth can do what these guys do. A lot of variables go into it, too. Landing spot, coaching, support cast, etc. as for CJ, he has had one solid year but now there’s a lot of film on him and teams are going to be ready. Fields is capable he just hasn’t had the best start. By the time these dudes figure it out, it’s almost too late bc GMs don’t take the time to let coaches develop that position. It’s win or you’re gone..

Weirdest thing about this offseason is how many fanbases of teams without QBs suddenly think that either QB doesn’t matter or you build the rest of the team and then draft a QB last when thats never been a thing. Giants fans think drafting a QB makes no sense until the rest of the roster is elite (or that daniel jones is good enough), pats fans talking about trading down because “they’re not good enough to draft a QB yet”. In the nfl every year you go without a solid franchise QB is a wasted season. Every year titans tried to compete with tannehill they were just wasting prime derrick henry years. Get the QB in first and then build around them on their rookie deal. If it still fails then draft a new QB and start again

Wtf is Colin talking about Maye’s combine was bad? All he did was interview and he universally lauded for how he did. His pro day was widely considered impressive once he settled in. He threw the ball 74 times and missed 3 throws and had 2 drops.

USC was stacked with weapons
Not really. The only Top NFL guy was Jordan Addison. Caleb had a bad OLine at USC, hence why he always had to scramble and make plays.
@@scruffd0g193 you’re just regurgitating what Klatt was saying. O line looked worse than it was because Caleb was playing hero ball all the time. And they had weapons this year. Rice and Lloyd will be 2-3rd round picks, Tahj is an NFL slot, Zach branch is a future 1st round pick, Duece is a future nfl player, Dorian singer and Mario Williams are good but Caleb didn’t throw it to them. Instead of taking the Easy reads that were wide open he wanted to be Superman all season. Moss Miller executed the offense better in his one start than Caleb did in two seasons without rice, Tahj, and Lloyd in the bowl game.

College sports is dead and according to interviews from professional players they got paid in college twenty years ago like Shaq and his teammate in Cleveland now in Miami and the USC football players during the Seahawks coaching days in USC and still on going

I love Klatt but he has serious in-person bias. He was an analyst when Drake Maye lost the Holiday Bowl but had 2 or 3 nice throws and he can’t get it out of his head.

Maye should go behind Jayden no doubt. He has all the tools etc over JJ. Hes been projected so high for a reason. Hes a big guy with a cannon that can move too

Klatt spoke about Maye's upside with some intelligence. So did Eric Mangini earlier in the radio cast. However, both failed to mention the impact that Phil Longo had on Maye. You see Longo left UNC last year to take over the offense in Madison for Luke Fickell at the University of Wisconsin. Point is Longo has been grooming NFL grade QB's for a while. To not mention him today reveals poor research and thought on the subject.
