Mike, i have to tell you in all honestly the more i watch your videos i am falling in love with your channel...........this is exactly what got me into amateur radio over 40 years ago. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart.
Wow thanks Tony. Its funny my neighbors dad was a ham, but he was a net SSB guy. He struggled to even give my buddy and I the Novice 5 WPM test when we were teens. I was immediately drawn to simple building projects and surplus equipment like I was from another era.
Two tubes make for a practical regenerative receiver for almost any application. Its a stretch to say it would have enough gain to drive a speaker, but plenty for headphones!
Mike, I see you have outgrown your junk box and have migrated to a fibber McGee style closet. I'm confident that it will supply you with enough projects to keep you and the channel out of trouble. I'm looking forward to part 2.
Mike, I really enjoy seeing your receivers, the schematics and explanations. Your presentations are really great. I do have a request: would you be able to come up with one or two, really good simple FM receiver circuits? I enjoy building simple solid state AM radios but I'm ready for FM radio now! I just want to be able to pick up some local FM stations. I sure hope you can do a series on this. - Mike M., KC0IVF
I once heard a cop say that FM meant "F#King Magic", that's how well it works. Mike for FM there are several interesting techniques to experiment with that could be demonstrated.
Really looking forward to Part 2. Many thanks, Paul, G0OER

Glad to hear it!
Excellent as always Mike... very useful and informing... many thanks Dave G0KPZ
Thanks for watching my channel and being a return viewer Dave.
I bought a 2 tube kit from UK. It works fantastic. Was a bit worried about it getting here . Packaging was also brilliant.

@MIKROWAVE1 The tubes are reciever only. It uses a chip amp to drive headphones. I believe the dealer was the " 6V6 shop "
@@chuckmaddison2924 Wow a HYBRID approach!

Yeah, OCD right? Not.
Another fun video Mike. Love the rudimentary station monitor. Fun stuff

Necessity! That was a quick solution that mostly worked.
Excellent! It’s a good thing grandpa didn’t have to deal with those pesky transistors and 555’s and LM38x’s. ;-)
I guess Great -Grandpa might be more accurate now!
Ya know, you’re right! ;-)
@@MIKROWAVE1 The 555 came out about a month before I did. Of course you were a "Johnny novice" back then!
@W1RMD I worked with Walt Jung, author of that famously devoured 555 Cookbook!
@@MIKROWAVE1 Tool cool!
Tenesee Tuxedo clip... aces!
I actually cut the clip short - the rumbling closet with Tennessee and Chumley cringing went on forever!

@@MIKROWAVE1that sounds promising. I'm looking forward to any videos you might be able to come up with concerning simple FM receivers. Thanks!
