@@TheSportyspice8 her other show “the summer I turned pretty” the main character is half asian too and her two love interest are white, and then the main characters brother is dating an asian girl but that actor was kicked off the cast and the brother is going to be dating a white girl in the next season. it’s sort of confusing because jenny hans characters are not fully asian, but there’s always a pattern of an asian parred with a white person in her books. you can just search het up, other people have talked about this too. it’s sort of a fetishizing type of issue.

Yep we watched it like 2 weeks ago when my school bestie (ye my girl bestie bc my boy bff is my crush and the topper )came over for like 6 hours bc her parents were traveling to a village and this time she didn't go. Had a fun time but we both cried (of laughter) and at the same time cringed too. Btw after like 2 hrs my boy bff came over too. He missed the laughter we had but i played with him! >\\\<
Edit: they divided us this year into girls one section and boys one section but we were coed a year before. So I'm the 1st place holder and my boy bff is the topper of his class.

@@Freddy-yc8bg okay but people were expecting an at least somewhat accurate representation of korean culture and if you're gonna make a show set in a country and "recovering/connecting" with your culture (kittys whole reason of being in korea + her mom) then it shouldn't be THIS unrealistic

It’s funny cus it’s not a fully awful plot, like a teenager figuring out themselves and getting confused with feelings and sexuality sounds about right, that, the fact that it’s shot neatly, no weird angles or takes, the quality is nice and Minho made the show salvageable. For me it’s either the writing, the delivery of the lines on behalf of some of the actors and the context that can throw me off and become cringy, like so many takes would’ve been perfectly ok and felt more organic but some lines and conversations between characters could’ve been written better, like it would almost be too fabricated and the message would get too saturated to the point where it’s just odd dialogue and when it comes to the actors it’s also the way they would get these already-funny-sounding lines, like kudos to Sang Heon Lee, some of the things he said could’ve been cringy as hell but his delivery (in my opinion) is the wisest, but yeh, honestly I think overall better scripts would give the actors something decent to work with…
like... it was intentional? The whole scene was sketchy because it was literally Minho's dream. There is no way they could have possibly show us that Minho had real hots for Kitty at that time of the show in a sirious way. That's why they made this scene so cringy and ridiculous cause that's exactly how Minho would think of his supposed attraction to Kitty at the time.
To be fair it was a dream sequence.
