I really like Ryan Neil doing this format of critique. it was very enjoyable and very inspiring. It would be a pleasure to have on of my trees critiqued one day by him. Though my trees are by seed and are only approaching 5 years..... (i do have 2 maples from seed about 9 years old though :) so it might be a while. so thankful Ryan. truly.
ryan does a good job explaining in words the why to his choices. i look at my trees the same way, like I'm critiquing one of my drawings, wondering what to erase, looking at the lines.
Damn, when I watch you critique a tree I realize I'll never have the skills necessary to take this hobby to the next level. It's almost depressing but I won't stop ! Still gained a lot of knowledge and insight though.
I could listen to ryan all day long. Love this critique . Wish he would do more of these. Im not a pro member so not sure if he does . But if anyones interested go to bonsai-en and subscribe and hes been doing critiques now for some time. Just send the pics of ur trees in and hell critique them. Its a great show.

Great design critique, the owners of these trees will get a lot out of it.
I've never heard of "boneseye" is it similar to Bonsai? Ha ha
That mugo pine a tree to plant for landscape. Waste of time for bonsai
