The daily wage labourers earn about 1000rs per day and about 20 days of work they get. But the expenses are so high due to inflation and increase in standards of life, the income is not sufgicient to meet requirements, moro so if there are excigencies like some body falling ill or there are children who have to be enrolled in good educational institutions. Government should take care of education and health of people.
If Manmohan Singh is given credit for success of the 1991 reforms, by same yardstick Nirmala Sitaraman should be given the credit for the economic progress of last 10 years. The finance minister’s success will depend entirely on the capacity and calibre of the prime minister. It was Narasimha Rao’s deft steering of difficult decisions through parliament and getting them implemented was the real reason for the 1991 reform success.
