Just like PAN AADHAR, INDIA needs to create a WEALTH ID which will centralize ALL OUR ASSETS, LIABILITIES, INVESTMENTS, INSURANCE DETAILS, & Should include WILLS, NOMINEE & BENEFICIARY DETAILS, So that Banks, Mutual Funds & Insurance Companies Don't Harass our Families after our Demise
I think its asian culture, my parents never wants to talk about it my dad is 63 my mother is 59. I tried to raise this with them estate planning but they don't want to hear or talk about it.
It is quite cultural indeed. Estate planning becomes a taboo topic and unfortunately impacts the future generations. Hopefully, the coming generation breaks this taboo chain!

I think something on that line is happening with the digilocker (www.digilocker.gov.in/) initiative. Hopefully it will be expanded more in scope.
