Kuut's Font tool: kuut.xyz/fonttool/
This is a text handler for NotITG meant to overcome the limitations of the built-in text engine in the game. This video is a hands-on demonstration on what you can do with it.
This is based on my older text handler which I used in my Undertale simfiles back in 2016, but I finally decided to improve the code a lot and rebrand it under a better name.
The documentation is included in the text handler xml file
This is the first release of this tool at the moment, but more features will be added as the time goes on.
Shoutouts to Kuut for making the font tool! Making custom fonts for this game hasn't ever been easier
And to XeroOl for helping me figure some things out!
Music used in this video: Eyeliner - Closeness

best modfile ever
Whoa, this rules.
This is *exactly* what I needed, but it was to make a text engine on Scratch. I'm really happy that a solution intended for NotITG text rendering could work for me as well.
i didnt expect you to make an ad video for it thats amazing lmao
Yeah I felt like this was absolutely the best way to demonstrate what this system can do
@@Puurokulho well done, both the vid and the text handler ^-^
Awesome this will be very useful for different ways to use text now!
Oh I’m gonna love the things people do with this…
the best Demonstration Ever
eyeliner music 😳
Oh this is awesome 👀
This is amazing, please tell me, can this handle double res fonts? I mean, advanced mod files render beautiful pictures and 3d models in 1080, a low res bitmap text will look bad.
Doubleres files should work just as fine as in any other context. The font tool allows you to make fonts with the size of roughly 50px in Arial which should be enough in most situations unless you need to use huge text but those situations are far and in between, but adding doubleres functionality to the font tool shouldn't be a huge hassle if there's enough demand for it
Anyways, I'd say low res texts won't always look bad if it fits the aesthetic of the rest of the file, like in the case of pixel fonts or other cases where the look is based around outdated technology for example
