It’s absolutely STUNNING to see the amount of manual labor, and lack of assembly line automation! I just thought my OM906 school bus was cool, but then again, it’s only the Mercedes engine, the rest is Freightliner and Thomas.
I think it's because they don't really produce buses rarely and automation won't be profitable

They sell a lot of buses to order . Automation would not work . However they would have excellent materials control & process control . Yes the Germans do a great job bu so do all the other countries assembly gear like this.

Adorei o vídeo e achei bem interessante a forma como são fabricados os ônibus da Mercedes/Setra. Mesmo com a carroceria sendo um Setra, a forma de construção do ônibus segue os moldes dos monoblocos da Mercedes-Benz. No brasil o processo de construção de ônibus é diferente.
Primeiro que no Brasil, desde o final dos anos 1990 são proibidos ônibus construídos no modelo monobloco, mas apenas no estilo chassi + carroceria. O cliente adquire dois produtos diferentes, que serão unificados no decorrer do processo. O cliente adquire um chassi da marca que ele preferir e se adequar ao tipo de ônibus que ele quer: Mercedes-Benz, Scania, Volvo, Volkswagen, etc. Tendo adquirido o chassi, ele vai adquirir o modelo da carroceria em fabricantes específicos, tendo como principais montadoras a Marcopolo, Comil, Busscar, Mascarello, Irizar, etc.
O Chassi é construído primeiro e, uma vez pronto, é levado de caminhão até a fabricante da carroceria. Chegando lá, esse chassi é colocado em um molde de alongamento para a construção das longarinas da carroceria. Para os modelos rodoviários de média e longa distância, por exemplo, os tamanhos mais usados são de 13,20m (modelo com 2 eixos), 14m (3 eixos) ou 15m (4 eixos - Double Decker). A partir daí a estrutura (esqueleto/gaiola) é construída em cima do chassi/plataforma. Então essa plataforma já recebe a carroceria estando com os eixos, suspensão, motor, caixa de marchas, pneus e painel de comandos do motorista. Isso já veio direto da fabricante do chassi e não colocados no ônibus semi-pronto, como neste vídeo.
No momento que o ônibus recebe toda a parte de chapa/lataria, já é feita a pintura nas cores da empresa que o comprou. Não é normal no Brasil serem fabricados ônibus em cores padronizadas (branco, azul, vermelho...) a não ser em caso de veículo para exposição ou exportação. A montadora da carroceria já recebe do cliente o design da sua pintura e realiza de forma impecável. No Brasil os ônibus são encomendados pela empresa e fabricados especificamente para ela. Depois de feita a pintura, o ônibus segue para toda a parte de acabamento externo (parachoques, faróis, lanternas) e interno (piso, bins, janelas, poltronas, banheiro, iluminação, etc.)

Son "Ensamblados" en China la ingenieria sigue siendo Alemana tanto de sus motores el compuesto mas importante y demas electronica al igual que los coches Alemanes que se ensamblan en Mexico y Brazil son planeados y diseñados en un laboratorio en Alemania por ingenieros Alemanes incluyendo esa pieza clave de un vehiculo el motor
Not true actually. BMWs are mostly made in Germany. I come from Munich (the city where BMW comes from) and we have a few BMW industries here. The cars are being produced there.

@@Penglorrrd dear, i was pointing out design, engineering performance, and product quality. Japanese beat ze Germans in these regards any given day. I just mentioned Toyota because I haven't came accross a G wagen which is reliable after 200000 miles. But landcruisers plenty. Yeah Europeans are innovative. For quality you get Japanese.

The engine bay is enormous. An engine with 3 alternators and more than 5 accessory belt. Above all, is the tidyness, organisation and silence that reigns.
Whenever I stand, behind the running engine pullies and V belts, I am scared, to come close.

Начальники за камерами сидят смотрят. Да и наверняка гонка есть, ибо не успел свою деталь поставить, потом это всплывет и тебя штрафанут.
