The mic was shockingly good, and if the speakers are as good as you say it might be worth buying for someone on a budget.
yeah, once he configured the mic it sounded pretty good .
im using tv speakers but honestly, i could barely notice the difference and wouldnt be able to if it wasnt written on screen when it switched microphones.
Or you could just buy better from known manufacturers for less money in some cases.
Yeah it sounded pretty good but at almost $30 it's not a great buy. Samson Meteor $33USD, there's also the new version (which I haven't used) is $22. Both on Amazon. Build quality is superior and Samson is known for their mics in live music and sound great. Metal body so if it falls of your desk it's not going to explode into a million plastic fragments. The Basics mic is going to fall apart the moment you use strong language from what I saw in this video
The mic was actually pretty good
i'm waiting for the Amazonbasics OEM prebuilt loser gaming PC.
It would be a Dell Optiplex with Amazon Basics on it instead of Dell.
simple rent a GPU acellerated AWS instance and pay 3 million USD per 1 second of gametime.
that's your amazon gaming PC
@@volvo09 Except Dell OptiPlex are GOATed quality and built like tanks. The only reason their performance may suck is because they're meant to be office PCs.
@@FlyboyHelosim that's why I chose the Optiplex, it's a solid machine. It wouldn't make a good gaming PC, but would make a great "Amazon Basics" PC that people could trust.
I could see one of the Optiplex Micros being rebranded... I have one of them as my main computer.
So basically an Acer lol
Should definitely pair this setup with the Amazon's Choice PC. Match made in heaven right there.
"If vibrator logic stays true to speakers these should be really powerful"
That sure is a sentence of words you have concocted there Dawid
Hahaha where his mind goes is honestly fascinating 😂
I immediately cackled when I realized what he said
Pretty sure AOC makes the display, so it makes sense that it's the only thing that isn't absolute detritus.
Looks almost identical to an AOC monitor I bought a few years ago, that was my first guess, too.
looks more like an Acer monitor
8:23 a mouse designed for someone with tiny raccoon like hands? Say no more....
The greatest... alright I'll see myself out
The greatest technician that's ever lived
Looks like it's about the size of the Logitech M705 I used to use. It's clearly not as good as that.
honestly, i feel like all mice on the market are this small... even the ones advertised as ''for big hands'' ..... they probably ment big for chinese people.... not for western people ''big''
@@strubbleler The Logi MX Master 3S has 5/8" on the Logi M705. That's enough that my thumb sits properly in range of the thumb buttons, rather than back so far that I can only comfortably use one of them.
Definitely not watching this instead of workingggg
Relatable
sameee
Certainly, nor am I. 😅
Imagine you're working 💀
Literally same
That keyboard is literally the Dell KB216p. I have it on my desk right now at work. They just slapped amazon branding on whatever generic E-waste peripheral Dell buys for their computers.
I'm surprised Amazon hasn't teamed with Dell to rebrand micro Optiplexes with i3's as Amazon Basics PC's.
Also the exact same e-waste keyboard my HP came with at work. Someone is making an awful lot of money out of these terrible keyboards.
@@Zerbeythe Chinese government
Honestly, I'd buy that mic. To my untrained ear it sounds pretty good. Might grab the monitor platform as well.
You rebel, you. lol
Don't buy Amazon Basics stuff, it's all gonna be made by political prisoners in Xinjiang
You can get a renewed Blue Snowball for like $1 US less, which makes the Amazon Basics mic a terrible value proposition. Even at the regular price, the cost of the Basics mic means you should just fork over another $10-15 for a new Snowball, which is very good for recording speech and music and also can be used as an omnidirectional mic.
I thought the mic sounded surprisingly good!
Yeah I couldn't tell the difference between it and the lav mic when it was under a foot away.
I could detect a bit more background echo from the lav mic versus the Amazon one, which I absolutely did not expect.
That keyboard is similar to Dell's plastic E-waste garbo keyboard, because it is.
fr fr i literally have that shit
Yeah that is clearly made by the same company.
@@Radial_resonance I have like 5 of those Dell keyboards still in the box from my old job... I've been trying to give them away over the years. Haha
Yeah, they're made by those Chinese companies that only ship products in bulk and will slap the brand of whatever company bought them on it. That basically goes for the entire setup.
Yep looking at this same keyboard at "work" right now. Down to the blue print
Well that microphone is clearly the standout item, sounds great. The display too... I like how they were smart enough to not put any Amazon Basics branding on the front as well, you don't need to be constantly reminded that you went cheap but then again when the display is pretty much as good/better than anything else in its class that might not be such a bad thing.
I know that Keyboard, it is a standard Keyboard, when we get new PC's in the company, they come with that Exact Keyboard. It is quite, (good for office), but most of all, it is almost indestructible, coffee, lunch, Ketchup...no problem, a quick wipe and it is as new...lol.
"A decent bit less offensive than I was expecting" now that is a glowing review.
Have always used a ream of office paper when a monitor stand was needed. Is (for me anyway) the perfect height. As a bonus, you will never discover you are out of paper when you need to print something important. If I ever need to open the one I am using as a stand, I immediately order a new one.
Nice life hack. Before I got a stand, for 5+ years I used a stack of Sarah Palin books I found in the free pile at a garage sale
@@Collin_J Awesome! Could you see Russia from your monitor? 😃
Jay showing off an $8k computer. While Dawid gives us what we really want...Amazon Basics baby!
That intro slaps, every... time.
The irony is that probably 70% of Dawid's viewers desk set ups probably look like that or worse lol
It's just a little messy 😅
You know honestly I'm struggling to decide if mine is worse or not. It's a desk platform built into a wall, and it has a handy hole for running cables through to my PC, but it doesn't have much foot room due to how it's built with the PC in it, and there's not REALLY enough space to consider it a usable desk with my monitors on it. Like I can put my phone down, but even if i...say place a glass of tea down on the desk, I have very little room for it, and if I'm trying to be quick to get a drink during a game I have to be careful I don't hit my monitor.
I just got off work after 14 hours and have 5 hours until my next shift. Here I am, watching this and laughing at that same keyboard we have at work. It sucks, the keys stick and I am very tired. Goodnight, well, technically it is morning. 🙂
The gaming monitor is £120 on the UK Amazon store... Incredible value!
Really? I've bought better Dell ones in charity shops for like £10. LOL
@@FlyboyHelosim UK charity shops are legally not allowed to sell used electrical goods. So which country are you finding old Dells in?
@@Thurgosh_OG what? UK is just one big joke...
In the US, a comparable LG monitor (180Hz vs 165Hz) is $20 more and I would definitely spend the extra $20. It is also a FreeSync panel and the Basics one just says 'adaptive sync' so it probably is some off brand implementation and might not work very well.
@Thurgosh_OG they 100% are allowed to sell electrical good in charity shops in the UK, they just have to be tested before selling for safety that's all. im pretty sure it's the same in the US aswell. I've got plenty of old consoles and electrical good from charity shops. Can't beat a bargain 👌 😊
Love these kinds of videos. Keep up the good work 👍
Ah man Dawid, that keyboard, I've completed so many hours of gaming and uni assignments on that baby, brings a tear of nostalgia to my eyes
"if vibrator logic applies to speakers, these should be real powerful"
That was a verbal flashbang
Damn i thought the display was an LG monitor due to the red circle in the back but it isn't. I am sold at it.
It might be, Amazon Basics is just rebranded stuff.
I also think it's LG who is the OEM for the monitor because of the red circle
I thought the same and wondered if LG is making them. I wouldn't be surprised. May be how they use up older screens left in their inventory or they could be cutting them down from larger panels with defects.
That Amazon Basics microphone was rather impressive. Probably the best thing you reviewed.
Hi, tiny mouse are usually made for old school fingertips mouse user. Since back in the days (early~mid 90's), it was the only format available for budget people. So I'm personnaly more prone to use these... Well the gaming version of these, like the Keychron M3 Mini or Razer Viper Mini... Or when in travel for NON gaming purpose, I might also use the classic white Verbatim Optical Mouse since it is very lightweight and won't fatigue your hand in a fingertips position.
That monitor looks shockingly close to an unbranded LG monitor, which would explain why it's actually good. I'd be shocked if they weren't the OEM on it.
It probably is
Probably. But for $20 more, you can get one that says LG with 180Hz refresh and Free Sync, instead of some off-brand 'adaptive sync'. I use an inexpensive LG 32" 1440p 165Hz G-Sync monitor. It was $230 on sale, two years ago. Probably the regular price now. VA panels have come a long way. Motion handling and response times are on par with a midrange IPS display and the colors are so much more vivid. Black is actually black. IPS just looks washed out. I don't think I'll ever go back to an IPS display because I would need an expensive OLED display to be satisfied with one.
Christ that keyboard is horrid 😂
I used to open tons of those when installing Dell computers in a large office, or setting up fresh peripherals for a new hire... They legit feel like they cost $1 to manufacture.
Fine for office work, but absolutely cheap, cheap, cheap.
@@volvo09 "fine for office work" admit it, you're a manager now aren't you?
They're alright in an office setting.
Truth is, some keyboards are just so monumentally cheap that the keytravel actually starts to feel good again. Like that one walgreens LVLup keyboard feels like it's made of tempered layered trashbags, but actually because the membranes are so weak it actually feels nice to type documents with for long periods of time.
Any more expensive and you end up with tough, rubbery membranes and the keyboard goes back to feeling icky and mushy 😅
I have that keyboard, but it's my emergency back-up keyboard / I randomly need another keyboard for some one-off thing I'm doing. And I agree "It's very much 'keyboard'."
It just goes to show how far we've come with display tech, that even a cheap rebranded pc monitor is still decent.
The unreasonable level of excitement I felt when I saw a half second clip of EFT: Arena being played lol
That mousepad looks like my old car passenger rubber carpet & that keyboard has the exact looking my office Dell keyboard.
I actually use a car mat as a mouse mat, what are the odds ;-)
Mic surprisingly was quite good, but then again it's kinda hard to screw up a condenser mic. Though at close to $40CAD it means it's competing with stuff like a Samson Meteor and HyperX solocast. At that price I'm picking those 2 every single time.
I love tech!
Not defending the headphones Dawid, but at 11:14 did you try with the perspective/ isolation setting at all? just curious that's all
Rare W for the Amazon mic sounding so good.
Is that a Loot Lord plushie i spot on the couch?? XD
I could listen to David's sarcasm and innuendos when describing PC hardware all day. LOL
Next video idea: Using 1942 military radio for voicechat
You could make a career dumpster diving around Dawid's offices
Dawid finally finally upgraded from his temu setup? 10 out of 10
You should choose that part in Amazon where an expert comes in and installs everything.
The mousepad hang out is the way to go actually if you play FPS games like over 6hours. The edge of the desk or the edge of the mousepad hurts my wrist, all my mousepads does that. I have to higher my seat so my arms reach down to the desk, but only my toes can touch the ground and my tights are squeezed by the desk. So after many tries, hang out mousepad is my current solution.
Isnt that the sign you're sitting too low? Or desk too high? Mine is level with my arm and never have that issue.
A lot of the stuff looks like they shrunk down PC peripherals, like the "gaming" chair looks like a smaller one of those stereotypical gaming chairs, just with the back shrunk waaay down, or the mouse, or the tiny monitor that looks actually pretty good (From a distance), but then you get closer and see that it's tiny
Wow, I love how the monitor stand has the Amazon Basics logo on the front like anyone would ever want to stare at that all day.
"I feel like all these items were made for tiny people."
Chinese manufacturers watching the video 👀
On a side note, I have the Corsair RM1000x PSU and it's great. I havent heard the fan kick in once in the year of using it.
drugged cat left me in bits Dawid lol
The mic is actually good
“Bilingual thickness isn’t as impressive as monolingual thickness” lmaoooo
I AM SIMPLE MAN. I WATCH DAWID. NOW YOU WATCH DAWID. WE ARE SIMPLE MEN.
Cannot wait for amazon basics to start including pc hardware (like mobo, gpu, ram, and stuff)
I’m surprised you weren’t more direct with your opinions about the microphone as opposed to the nuts and bolts of what I was doing. I think that actually sounded pretty awesome for the price.
Is that Amazon Basic monitor made by LG it certainly looks like it
Being a Dell Tech, it's hilarious to see those old wired Dell keyboards rebranded lol.
I guess technically the Dell ones are also rebranded, given that Dell don't make much of what they sell.
@@FlyboyHelosimoh no doubt!
I noticed that sneaky Loot Lord in the background, nicely done Dawid.
I can die in peace now knowing that I've seen the future of gaming set ups for at least the next 100 years.
Re the sponsor Corsair PSU. Why would I want manual fan control on a PSU? Surely with fluctuating loads you just want a "don't be indecently noisy when you don't need to and don't set fire to my computer" automatic fan control? Love the video as ever, just confused why I'm missing something without having an extra knob to fiddle with (fnar fnar).
That amazon mic isnt that bad sounded pretty decent
"This is keyboard... very keyboard." 😂😂😂😂😂 oh man this whole pos has me laughing but if your in the bigliest budget.... here you go. 😅
If that mouse doesn't develop an automatic double click within 2 years then it's better than the Logitech M185. That chair's cushion will be flat in a month, the gas lift will break and if you lean back too much the lean function will break; it's worth dropping a few hundred dollars (or more) on a quality chair.
Also if you want an even cheaper mouse mat then use the plastic insert from inside a canvas shopping bag.
"Ridiculous beige color." Clint has entered the chat.

Imagine being a Kentrosaurus watching this video, finding out what your ancestors died for...
That monitor is shockingly good for the price, like when you showed the test stuff, that's amazing. I was expecting some weird results with the colors, but no? Also that microphone is pretty darn nice. For someone who isn't familiar with the various brands of mics available, it would be a perfectly fine choice.
I have the tripod version of the stand, it is f-ing awesome. The rest is just content but felt I would chime in for those with a custom desk needing a riser.
Not gonna lie, I was hoping you would do an Amazon Basics setup, because I knew it would be funny. I felt this was inevitable after all of the "Amazon's Choice" vids you've done.
“This is keyboard” 😂
Yeah.. hidden charge port but more importantly - how on earth are you going to do that 3.5mm jack if it's hidden under the hinge?!
Amazon Basics, the only brand building for oompa loompas.
That Amazon mic was actually surprisingly good
Weird that this video doesn't really have a start to it, feels like Dawid forgot to explain the concept first haha
It kind of explains itself,
It's all Amazon Basics gear
@@volvo09 yes. That's what titles do. But Dawid still does an intro in his videos where he explains the concept, regardless of the title.
That mousepad is just extraordinarily pointlessly sized. It just makes no sense at all. 😆
I have a few of those basic monitor stands, bought them in 2017, still all in one piece and look good.
"Its not massive but its a little bit quieter at the back " Thats how she was too Dawid thats how she was too
Brilliant, please do some stand up or write some comedy, you'd be so good. Great vid as usual
I think it's kinda funny Amazon copied the LG Ultragear red ring design on the back of the monitor. That's hilarious. This was very entertaining Dawid. Maybe now you could do an all Walmart brand - "Onn" setup perhaps ?
Certainly one of the PC setups of all time.
Amazon IS the "drugged elderly cat" of retail.
I've been using that monitor stand for years now. I never had any problems with it, however I only use it for my second monitor, which is not that heavy (~ 4 kg).
I'd say if you look for a really simple solution, it's definitely good and sturdy enough (even stayed alive while moving from one apartment to another). :)
Also it only has that small branding on one side, so in case you want to avoid the shame of buying from Amazon Basics, just turn it around!
Seems like a few of those things would be for the kids' homework/gaming area; cheap stuff they can misuse and it might last until they are old enough to get better stuff.
From Marshall combo to hughes and kettner. Nice 😅
Amazon Basics used to sell a "mechanical feel" "gaming keyboard" but that was discontinued, probably because nobody bought it
Captain Subjective subjects his subjects to his subjective thoughts on the subjects of his subject. He's doing it for us little folk and we need to be grateful.
What I learned from this video is that Dawid may have drugged a cat. Oh and the monitor looks like me.
In case anyone got a condenser mic and now struggles with the noise of PC fans or something... One good piece of software that's definitely worth a try to fix that is ClownFish voice changer. It has an "AI denoise" feature which essentially removes low level noises like fans, keyboards, and even roommates being annoying at 3 am... Every week... Really loudly... I'm not projecting, you are. :)
I could get a wooden monitor stand with metallic feet for much less than the soft plastic one.
Dawid is a Giant: confirmed.
that is in fact the same keyboard as the new dell ones, wish they brought the vista era ones back ngl
Disappointed I didn't get to see Dawid's knick knacks under that monitor riser.
Im watching this instead of attending my online classes lol
The look of disgust on Dswid's face while reviewing the chair tells me it should be cleansed by fire.
That microphone is just as good as anything 95% of people ever need. Feels wild I bought a $250 microphone from razer when I was like 15
I recognize most of these items from my job, that they order from Staples. The scroll wheel on my mouse has turned into a pretty fast fidget spinner, so that's something.
I actually have the riser. I've had it since Jan 2017. It raises my triple monitor stand up just high enough to clear my pc tower. I have my dac/amp under it, which resolved some hideous ground loop interference I was getting.
Most of the amazon basics stuff is just them finding a market leader item they can white label and undercutting the big name brand(much like grocery stores have been doing for ages). They're not necessarily bad, but I wouldn't trust it for anything that might need support in the future(i.e. some pc software controlled rbg or something).
i know you take the piss but remember for some people all this stuff is high end, i have been broke, as broke as you can imagine and pulled myself back up and this stuff to me would be such a accomplishment and thrill to own
So that Mic and display seem like they might actually be worth the money, and the rest is as expected. Interesting. I never would've expected an Amazon Basics display OR Mic to be anything more than "barely usable". That's actually quite good. They have useful stuff!
Love the tasty guitar and amp combo, 100% essential in any setup
i think the point of waterboarding is that you will in fact never get used to it lol.
