So, I’ve camped in the bed of my truck in some super sketchy places and I’ve had people peek in many times. But, I have one time that still gives me chills and I still can’t explain. This is long so bare with me. So I’m a hunter and I have a property I hunt about 2 hrs away from my home. One Friday me and my cousin drove up for a evening and weekend hunt. When you arrive at the property, you have to take a dirt road to a trail that leads you a mile back in the woods to a creek. From there you hike a half mile to stands. So we hunt, hike back, cook dinner, and go to bed. About 2am my cousin wakes me to footsteps outside the truck. But normally hearing scuffle outside is no big deal, but this was human steps. Now on top of my camper shell I have off-road lights around it. I was about to cut them on when my cousin stopped me and said let’s not draw attention to the fact someone is in the truck just yet. We got tapping on the window and crunching of leaves of something walking. Now we are spooked because whoever this is has no light and it’s pitch black back in those woods at night. So we sit frozen, pistols in hand, waiting for whoever it is to go away. About 30 min goes by, no sounds whatsoever. We are thinking he must be gone till we hear a child say “hello.” Me and my cousin look at each other acknowledging the fact we just both heard a freakin child. At this point we think is this a child lost and they found the truck? So I say “hello” and get nothing but silence. At this point we are freaked out! We sit there for it seemed like forever but about 10 min passes and then we hear a kids voice say something else but we couldn’t make out what it said but we heard crying. So at this point we are thinking a kid has to be outside the truck and as dads we got concerned. At this time we hear the footsteps coming up the side of the truck again. So I hit the lights expecting us both to see a kid standing there to see nothing. We both got out of the truck and started looking around saying hello with no response. About a year ago we came across a old farmer when we were coming out from putting up cameras and got telling him the story. He told us there is a story of a kid that drowned in the creek back when it was much deeper water many many years ago. Of course that spooked us, but we never found anything confirming the story. So now when we go hunting down there we just say high to jack, a name we made up, and tell him goodnight. We have never experienced him since. But that has to be the scariest time I’ve ever had camping in the truck.
@Alyce Rodz 100% correct. I had similar childhood when we moved into our house when I was 7. I flat out refused to get out of the car when my dad pulled into the driveway of our new house because I took one look at the house and I instantly knew it was demonic there. My mom got so angry with me for refusing to budge but I was right. That house was filled with so many demons the entire time we lived there. Every day crap would happen, not just to me but all of us. But I knew God's hand was protecting us. The stupid part is 'they' have followed us to wherever we move. It's so stupid. I'm in my 60's and still they never went away. But it's Ok because I know they hate us almost as much as God and want to take us down with them but they can't. Which makes them pissed so they try to trip is up paranormally as much as they're able to which is ...a lot. When they do something extremely loud and creepy? I Bible Belt the f*ck out of them. I know they hate that because they stop with their ridiculous antics for some time until they just can't help their evil self and do more crap.
Wet Hook Fever that wasn't a kid, alive nor dead. It was a demon trying to make you believe it was a kid. You might seriously consider not acknowledging it with greetings unless you actually enjoy the company of a demon. Which unfortunately in today's world, happens a lot.
If I ever go camping, especially in the woods, I'll definitely take some type of firearm with me along with plenty of ammo, no way I'll be out there completely defenseless.
It's always best. Even if they don't allow firearms just take a handgun and coneal it well and if you can't access that at least take bear spray, it could buy you some time.
I was solo night fishing off the river bank last spring and around 1am something big was running up a hill. 20 miniutes later i had 3 big ass rocks hit the water in front of me. And i know for a fact there wasnt anyone around for several miles. I got up and walked to my truck and grabed my Ar15 and my 357 mag. Another hour went by and another rock was thrown at me and this time i did a mag dump right in the woods and something let out a big snort that sounded close to a growl. I didnt stick around long after that but i still had 1 magazine left. Tru story.

Those trees are cypress trees and they are so cool! They release tannins into the water causing it to be almost black. Just FYI if anyone cares. Love Florida swamps!!♥️

Florida attracts a lot of homeless that "live off the land", solo camping or establishing squatter camps in wooded or secluded areas where they can get by on scavenging and petty theft. That's likely what you experienced.
Ok, if I was in the situation of someone looking into my vehicle while I was sleeping, why not knock on the window? I would only do it if I had a weapon, just in case someone or something stays around. I don't generally solo camp, so if a buddy is still up, then we could work something out. Cools vids though.
