48:39 viy does go back to the deck and increases power by 3 if it's destroyed; deathwish triggers when destroyed, it doesn't have to be a consume. Cool deck and vid!
@@SilentwalkerX i've never seen that interaction but I'd imagine if viy gets destroyed while it has doomed then it would just be gone and not go back into the deck

Vilg does send it back. Banishing, sending to grave or using Hen Gaidth are the only ways to permanently get rid of it. You know, besides locking or seizing.

I remember using old ornate censor (Swap the power of the highest power and lowest power unit on the board) to get cheap wins against this deck (Viy decks in general I mean)
Viy was the first deck I;ve played back in the days :) it is still one of my favorite, but it does require planning, both in what opponent could play, and possitioning, saving cards for later, protecting etc
More consume cards have been released since viy, some had provision buffs and there are more tutors now. Since the idea is to constantly pull viy, I felt like the provisions were better used elsewhere.
