1.) shaft drive is awesome, 2.) boxer engines are great and are a very flexible, even old ones like mine, 3.) the R is the most under-rated bike out there, I reckon - if you don't need to go off road then IMHO a much better option than a GS (and cheaper), 4.) what book you reading?
1) I can only see positive things about this 2) it was nice I think I prefer mine though for now 3) liked it more than I thought I would but I reckon you can get more luggage on a Gs 4) something about a murder I’ll let you know how it goes
I don't miss having a chain, and Boxer engines... Well, they're simply my favourite. Such a flexible workhorse of an engine. It's definitely worth trying a GS, especially for the Telelever front suspension. I'm so used to it now that I find regular forks a bit disconcerting. Keyless ignition is a weird thing. To me, it makes sense (and is incredibly convenient) on my RT when paired with central locking for the panniers and topbox, but not as much use if you still need a physical key to unlock your hard luggage like on the GS, RS and R. It was fantastic when commuting - the fob lived in my jacket pocket and I could lock and unlock the bike from the right hand switchgear. I do miss the act of turning a key in the ignition barrel, though.
I am trying to convince myself (along with everyone else trying to convince me) to try a GS but honestly I’m confident I’ll just break my legs. One day. Keyless feels like something that could just go wrong but I suppose there’s already so many things that can break what’s one more 😬 I’m sure it’s convenient but then how bad is it to rummage through some pockets for your Keyring…
Hi! I’m a new subscriber to your channel. Loving what I’ve watched so far, especially the Hayabusa videos. Looking forward to seeing more in the future. Ride safe! 😊🏍️💨💨
I’m glad it’s not just me who shouts “Don’t do it, don’t you dare….!” Chains are a royal pain in the ass. It’s just a shame there aren’t more shaft drive bikes to choose from. Have you seen the Guzzi Mandello?
Great video. Did you find any real difference between the chain drive and the shaft drive in terms of riding performance? I have only ridden chain driven bikes, so I’m not sure if there is any difference personally (except for the damn cleaning) 😂
Glad you’re enjoying biking, but definitely take some lessons if you can afford to (and proper gear…) - especially if jumping straight to really powerful bikes. Also ‘I nearly saw a horrific accident this morning, it was quite funny’?? For keyless, for me it’s a security feature - and even if thieves don’t manage to steal your keyed bike, there’s a high probability they’ll ram a screwdriver in your barrel and cost you a fortune for no reason.
We will agree to disagree on that one I thought it was pretty chill 😎 but I can always improve maybe next time I’m about to do something scatty I’ll think of you
I’m afraid I agree here. Not long started following you Liz and last year was a bad year for bikers in Milton Keynes where I live. Bit too spirited overtaking on country lanes. Just try not to do it when you don’t really have too! #killjoy!! Sorry! BTW, I have a S1000R & R1250RS so bonkers about Beemers! X
Hi I am Nayan I am from Bangladesh. you are very beautiful I have seen and will continue to see every photo of you. I am impressed with your driving. Drive like this for the rest of your life. Drive carefully. Best wishes to you.
the important thing is to keep the spirit, I always pray that I will always be healthy, always happy, stay focused with positive thinking that is done every day

@@R1_Liz To be fair Pinky is rather cool. It makes me wonder whether I ought to acquire an RR too.
Woo! I ride the previous version of this, and I absolutely love it! There should be more R1250Rs on the roads!
You don’t see so many of them, I was pleasantly surprised by this one
mine r1200gs has more than 110000kms in the block :D still works smooth as the first day when i bought it with 45000kms :D

Looks like a fun bike to ride. As you say next bike is a try a GS. I think you will enjoy it

My friend is after one of those new Guzzis! Haven’t seen one in the flesh yet.
Definitely not just you!
Some practical joker left the seat temp on high ? Sounds like something I would never do.
I was with them when they set the temperature but I don’t know what numbers mean 🤷♀️

Honestly I did not notice, wasn’t sure what there is too notice and deep down I don’t even know what a shaft drive is 😬 but it was very pleasant 😅
Mine has a shaft drive and i dont miss chain maintenance at all lol
I bet you don’t, what a nightmare they’re SO annoying

Love ur ranting, boxer engines are class, the r1250r is excellent, loads of torque. If you get a chance try an r nine t
I’ve been wanting to try an r9t! Totally didn’t occur to me that those are also chain-less
I feel that you are taking too many risks on the road, in this video. I would hate to learn that you Ran out of Luck !
Stay SAFE Love from 🇦🇺🏍
