Glad they kept him in Rockford for his first season in North America. He's now 3 goals away from Highmores rookie record of 24 goals and 2pts back of Hinostrozas point total of 51pts by an Icehog rookie with 13gms to go. If he maintains his point per game pace he'll be the first Icehog to get 60pts.
As I learned repeatedly with Boqvist, Joki, and etc don’t get attached to the players because they will be mismanaged and traded as soon as they show the negative impacts of said mismanagement.
@@gupdaddy DeBrincat was not a first round pick, and was given time to develop as a result. also of note that he didn’t get any of these hype videos (Sikura did lol). They signed Hagel in free agency, they didn’t do much to develop him either.
@@thehockeyson so you're saying a first round pick needs MORE development than a second round pick or a late round unsigned player? Players get developed at all levels sir.
@@gupdaddy First round picks, second round picks, it doesn’t matter where they were drafted all players need various amounts of time to develop. Recent first round picks have simply not had that time, been called up way to early, and traded when they disappoint.
Jokiharju hurts after that trade, Boqvist however hurts but he can still be an elite top 4 but Hawks needed a number 1 BADLY. As much as I wanted Boqvist to be that number 1 D man, he is not unfortunately. He is at best an elite #2 or elite top 4 offensive defensemen, not saying he is bust he just isn't what the hawks need right now unfortunately. I mean Bowman kinda missed out on Quinn Hughes during that draft year who ended up actually becoming a #1 D man for the Canucks and he went 7th overall before Boqvist. All im trying to say the draft can be a hit or miss whether its inside the first round of the draft or outside of it, all young players develop differently
One of these young guys have to replace Pius Suter. I know he got a nice contract from Detroit, and the Hawks have plenty of other young Centers. But it hurts to lose such a pleasant surprise and your leading Rookie scorer from a year ago.
Let’s get that W tonight
Umm

Like they mismanaged debrincat and hagel? No need to be negative
