    Ted, Would you know if its possible to make a mask out of this like an entire sphere, and two eyes? Or would it not work?

    That sounds really great, I bet you put your new inkscape skills to use on that one :)
    What I would like to know is how the scaling within the pattern works and if I have to use different foam thicknesses.
    Thanks for what you do and share to keep the passion alive!

    How would you go about making an operational bow? I'm currently thinking that I could made a standard pvc bow and then used foam to get it to look like a wooden bow, however I'm worried the foam would not be able to stretch enough and would tear. Any advice would be much appreciated.

    It is actually $5.00 in the shop, please correct the misleading description.

    Hey Ted I purchased the pattern and I'm wanting to enlarge it to fit a 26" diameter circle. Is there a method to your scaling? The 5"is 7 1/2" long and the 6 is 9. Thanks for any guidance you can give.

    • @EvilTedSmith
      @EvilTedSmith  7 років тому +1

      You could go to a copy store and have them blow it up for you.

    • @troypicou
      @troypicou 7 років тому

      Evil Ted Smith thanks for the reply I was wondering more if you have a formula. Like for the 5" dome pattern you added 2 1/2
      inches to the length. But for the 6" dome pattern you added 3" to the length . I could do triple and error but just thought I would ask before. Thanks

    • @eternal8song
      @eternal8song 6 років тому +4

      So if you want a certain diameter, just think of it like this: 2πr can be simplified to π•d. The length of each segment is half the circumference of a full circle, so what you need to do is 26•π=2L in order to find the new length of each piece. Then scale the whole thing accordingly. It may take a little trial and error, but that usually works for me.

    Hey Ted, how do you make dome out of steel plate? Can you make a pattern for 13" diameter dome for steel plate material?

    • @EvilTedSmith
      @EvilTedSmith  6 років тому

      Not sure? Not a metal worker, but I believe it falls in the same way. You would have to hammer a curve in the metal. Then weld them together, then grind your seams smooth. A lot of work. Thats why I like foam.

    • @jamesbabor3835
      @jamesbabor3835 6 років тому

      I actually used your concept pattern but it kinda didn't work well as yeah like you said I need to curve the metal and true a lot of work to do. But somehow I managed to formed it into dome with the help of body filler :D . Thanks for sharing Ted!
