This comparison really sets in how much has changed over time. Seeing all the little changes, like how the fallen have a more pronounced influence on the environment, how the Hive's influence on the moon has spread in our absence. It really feels like time has passed and things happened while we were away.
I never knew how much a jump 360 - one was until this video. Weird thing is I played the d1 beta on the 360 and then when the full game arrived I played it on the one. Ahh how innocent my cute little dumb dumb brain was back then.
Seeing the comparissons i think the main difference is the lighting and filters they use to do in D1, Like those lens flares, the shadows looking a different color than dark gray, the sharp lighting creating sharp shadows, i would say that D2 has a more "realistic" style, and D1 as a more "artistic" style. Bc D2 is "better" looking in terms of technical but it lacks STYLE, which is what D1 had a lot of in their environments, but it does look better in D1
From my experience, when a game is compared to irs sequel graphically, especially when their is 5 years or more gap between the two games, then the original game is superior to the sequel. The sequel was a downgrade. There should have been no reason to compare D1 to D2 if D2 was an upgraded version of D1. D1 art direction feels realistic and makes you feel like you are in the actual planets like Earth, Venus, Moon and Mars. While D2 looks like a good painting on the wall and very Dark painting
Everyone goes "dude wth happened to the moon on d2 😂" Im sitting here like: "yeah d1 nails the space fantasy vibe on the moon, but in reality the moon looks more like d2's rendition, cold, desolate, looks alot like our night sky but everywhere, and grey."
@@turbotegs2102- which looks cooler? It’s not even close. I watched the entire thing, came to the comments expecting everybody to talk about how much better D2 looks. It’s not even close. D2 looks better in every way. I spent the entire video thanking the devs that they redid the moon on D2. More true to the desolate space it is. Much better vibe. And of course, details and resolution. I don’t know what view you guys had, but I’m guessing it was while wearing rose colored glasses.
Of all the locations on the moon that are the same throughout all versions, you decided to focus on locations you clearly knew had different vistas and horizons. GG 🤦
I focused on the main locations, main buildings and primary corridors in just about every corner of the map. I can see what you mean when looking at your comparison video :) Oh wait.... You haven't made one.
As the local astronomer, destiny 2's is wayyy more accurate with its brighter sunlight and overall lighter surface color. Destiny 1 looks like its been dunked in water
I don't think people dislike Destiny 2's lighting all that much, it's just that the texture detail and geometry don't seem as granular and crisp, despite the higher resolution. Pay attention to the ground in the first 15 seconds of the video, D2's ground is by far the most washed out out of the three. Many surfaces in D2 look high res, but a lot of them seem kinda pastel-like. But that's the point of the comparison video, people will have different opinions :)
Check out the cosmodrome comparison too: ua-cam.com/video/FLOoGY8tOlA/v-deo.htmlsi=7HO0Fsa_VI0TU57P
Even though things are clearer and the graphics are updated, it really feels like they put more effort into the details and design in D1
The art style looks more better cause they took the time and effort into that game, unlike D2 what was a rushed Activision mess to begin with
@@thunderlord3183yeah same as Xbox 360 I can’t believe Xbox 360 version looks this great

Destiny 1 on X1 looks insanely good. What happened 😂
Artstyle will always beat resolution and framerate :)
Art direction Style Changed. Its hard to understand, but easy to see when you know where to Look at. 🤣

I’d love to see this for the cosmodrome
Well you're in luck 😄 ua-cam.com/video/FLOoGY8tOlA/v-deo.htmlsi=7HO0Fsa_VI0TU57P
Why does series X looks washed out. X1 looks miles better with the darker tones.
Love this pls do more
See the pinned comment :)
Is it sad that the destiny 1 rendition of the moon looks better than the d2 version
Do you... know what our moon looks like? Its grey... like a really light grey

i get what you're saying but which one looks cooler and also there is space magic in this game so it isn't very realistic to begin with

Reality isnt fun. Infact, gta4 was the Most depressing GTA. 😂
@@cimirie01let me guess somebody that never play destiny 1
destiny, a lot like minecraft, has lost its charm. it's too polished, but maybe that's just me.
And PC?
It's the artstyle comparison across three hardware generations not all editions of D2 :)

D2 is a joke compared to D1 except for content
