It's interesting to note Rommel went against orders and didn't just probe the defenses, he smashed through them and pushed on so hard and fast that he left his support troops behind. The gamble paid off though, the French were stunned and since nobody knew where they were, they earned the name.

Rommel was only allowed some leeway. Scoutin missions only. His superiror failed to say how laqrge that scouting actually would be maximum lol. "Scouting only" Dont take whole division was probably never in question HAHA. Rommel was like heck we could win this war easy if we just pushed....

Good explanation of a PART of the Blitzkrieg-tactics. But using tanks was only one part of it.
What it did the first time was the linking of aircraft and tanks and troops with wireless communications and turn those former seperated fighting units into one single tracked-flying-fast invading grinding machine.
Blitzkrieg was an attacking with concentrated own forces at a weak point of the enemy front. The main element is velocity. Breaking through the front with combinded and concentrated forces at that weak point and get with lightning speed (Blitz = Lightning, Krieg = War, Lighting-War) behind the backs of the enemy troops and attack them in their rear and the front in a combined effort.
I'm recommending a video from the channel "World War Two" for a reaction.

Masters of songs about tanks is a band called Raubtier..... they have a bunch of tanks songs and sound like a "cooler" version of Rammstein.
Achtung Panzer, Pansarmarsch etc.
Fooking great band if you ever get to them or want to check them out... and they are from Happaranda, as far up in the north as is humanly possible.
